Perhaps now Erica is returning things will get back to normal and the prison will be run at least semi-professionally. If Ros thinks she will get away with murdering Antonia just because she killed her mother then she is being very naive. She took the law into her own hands so she should fear the worst when she goes to trial.
I don't condone it but the law didn't do it's job properly so she felt she had to.
Unfortunately for Roz the law doesn't find the old "an eye for an eye" an acceptable defence.
this was a really good episode.
it culminates many of the characters' development at the same time as a major transition in power.

It’s nice to see a realistic labour on TV for a change. It makes me roll my eyes when they start groaning and then someone on set breaks a water balloon on the floor and then the baby appears in half an hour 🙄😂

Poor Vera, in spite of everything my heart goes out to her. she can't seem to catch a break whether in love or in work ,which is her real love. that look on her face when she is told Erica is coming back speaks volumes.

Am so disappointed the Governor didn't even TRY to persuade Doreen's long lost mother to visit & get re-acquainted with her poor daughter. And I agree that even tho' she does need care (love), money couldn't have hurt her--esp. for the future.

Many of us work but imagine taking abit of time out just so u will be bugged. U would want to leave the place.

Hoping Erica's return will result in some more scenes of a morose Vera hitting the bottle again.
Those scenes showed how good an actress Fiona Spence was (and quite probably still is).
+derby1884 The facebook page for the show showed a few of them today sharing their thoughts about the new Wentworth. Fiona still sounded exactly the same and I recognized her easily. I'm she could still nail a great part if she wanted to!

Vera Bennett is no friend to Meg Jackson at all. She totally orchestrated that whole crisis with the Meg/Chrissy induction. Knowing that Mr Fletcher just stepped into the role of Governor and as his (supportive) Deputy she could have quite easily taken the time to inform Mr Fletcher that Chrissy murdered Meg's husband but no she couldn't do that because to tell him would ruin her plan to watch his demise as Governor. She knowingly put Mrs Jackson through all of that just so she could ultimately end up in the Gov's seat. What a God awful human being she.
A young Paul Robinson from Neighbours alias actor Stefan Dennis is later seen in Prisoner playing various different characters he even has quite a few scenes with Doreen actress Colette Mann later on in Prisoner. Today as of 2018 both Colette Mann and Stefan Dennis still appear in Neighbours. Collette plays Sheila Canning and of course Stefan Dennis still plays Paul Robinson who is the longest serving cast member on Neighbours.

... it always tickles me that in soap land when a girl/woman starts to get labour pains, everybody else goes into your panic mode except the mum-to-be... Poor Kool-Kat Karen! I reckon she would've been a good mother if she hadn't had that abortion...
It's the same in real life. When I went into labour with my daughter, I went and had a shower, then put a load of washing on (by then about 3.30 am) because I knew it wouldn't get done otherwise. I was the only calm person.
I would have loved to have seen Vera as Governor of Wentworth, it's a shame this storyline couldn't have allowed her to do so.

When I saw this the first time, I was so glad Mrs. Davidson withdrew her resignation. Vera's face when she finds out is hilarious. LOL
P.S. Patsy King is one of the most beautiful women I've seen. She's also perfect for the role of governor and her acting is phenomenal.

She suits that 1940s look she was wearing when she visited Doreen's mum. I don't think we ever see Erica in anything even remotely approaching 'casual' clobber.
Lizzie is right, Doreen deserves a break. Erica has no right to tell Doreen's mom that Doreen doesn't need the an money from the will. She was going to leave everything to Doreen before Erica opened her big mouth.
Still no social worker, I thought she would have had a role to play in this episode. Where does she go???
i've already said i love erica davidson, she's sexy rational and diplomatic with compassion to boot,, but it's funny all these episodes i've watched thus far always imagining longer hair from the up-do i got used to :)

First appearance of Doreen's mother played by the late and lovely actress Ann Haddy who is best remembered as painter Helen Daniels in Neighbours who is the gran of Paul Robinson.
Ericas house walls are the same color as the prisoners uniforms--blue and yellow.

@@speedy692 me too, I relate to her in a lot of ways, she's emotionally undeveloped and innocent but that's only because her parents didn't give her a chance, much like mine..

The thing that annoys me is when a parent appears after all that time to see how you turned out or want to pick up where they left off, they have no right because they didn't put the work in. This is my 5th or so round of Prisoner, these things hit home when you watch as an adult.

That's because she's got learning difficulties that's why she clings to her teddy bear . Plus pts from abuse from her dad and her mum leaving .but yes she can be irritating .but I find Karen much more irritating and the old drunk .her laugh is like a fork on a tin plate 😂
Doreen Anderstitutionalized is right where she belongs, although the actress is great her character is annoying.

Just wondering. What sort of hospital lets an ederly lady who is recovering from plurasy; visit a newborn baby. =) Every time I decide to take a break for a day; I'm right back at this program. I need those two gold chairs from Angela's living room. They are fabulous.

I remember watching Doreen's mother on playschool as a kid
I know it's just a program but I didn't agree with them secretly setting up a visit for Mrs Hemingway (Doreen's Mother) to visit Dor without firstly notifying or asking Doreen how she might feel about it. It was selfish and they totally took away Dor's right to choose or decide for herself whether or not she wanted such a meeting to take place.

So they prisoners have been locked up for days but has anyone wondered how and when the prisoners go to the toilet..... they don’t have loo’s in the cells and we never see bathroom breaks or them slopping out buckets like uk prisons had to do in the 60/70s ( not sure exactly of that ) it’s something I’ve always wondered coz I couldn’t even go overnight without a bathroom break!!!

Amazing how Erica got all that information at the missing persons bureau (or wherever it was she went). The bloke gladly gave her info just coz she said she was the prison governor _without_ validating her identity first. She could just as easily have been a criminal! :)
Another baffling thing- Erica had a perfectly acceptable hairstyle outside of the prison. No doubt she'll return to donning the bizarre wig thing again when she goes back to her desk...
And yet another baffling thing- Erica persuaded Doreen's mum *not* to leave her estate to Doreen in her will!! Who the *hell* does she think she is, interfering _like that_?! I'd go mad if someone did that to me!

Maybe she validated her identity when she went into his office. Just because you weren't shown it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. I prefer Erica's work hairstyle. It's more classic and elegant. I do agree about the money though. It wasn't Erica's business to express an opinion on it.
