Doreen has become institutionalized. It would have been difficult enough for someone who was level headed and in the know to adjust to outside life, but doubly hard for Doreen.
Both were very lonely, hurt, misunderstood and craved love in their lives. Vee was more successful in attracting partners, but her desperation got in the way. Ferguson only found real love in her dogs and father

In Charlotte North Carolina there are buses and trams and you have to pay to ride or they ticket you. I wish they had buses where I live, I don't drive and I would be afraid to walk to my place that I work two and a half miles away because I live on a rural road and would have to.walk on a pitch dark secondary road where people drive fast and I would probably get hit by a car or raped and killed. My work uniform is Navy Blue and Black trousers with Black shoes. The only way I get to work is either my mum who is 76 or my sister who is 53. They drive me there and black.
The old Hawthorn Road milk bar in Burwood East hasn't changed that much since Karen and Doreen got on the bus there 36 years ago! The phone box has gone of course - everyone has a mobile phone now.
Doreen got paroled, that was about as emotional as her getting sent to the psych ward. Ms. Hemmings finding out shes a grandma, crazy. It took me a long time to realize this version of Doreen is where they got Boomer from. Both are best friends with their version of Franky and Liz.

When we moved in our home when I was twelve years old in 1975, we had that horribly gross barf green color in.our kitchen too. Green stove, refrigerator, sink, even a hand mixer. And my bedroom was in Lime green paint and shag carpeting too. I hate the color green to this day because of that style.
We had the same sort of thing. Our house was built with a green bathroom (bath, toilet etc.) all green. I also hate green unless it's in nature (trees, plants and grass), never wear it and don't own anything green.
