    Isn't January 6th the day of gift giving in Italy? Little Christmas, to commemorate the day the Three Wise Men gave gifts to The Holy Family? That's how my Italian parents explained it to me. Father from the North. Mother's roots from the South. 🎄

      Partly it's right (the speech of the 3 wise men), but the day of exchanging gifts in Italy is on December 25th.
      January 6th is the day of the epiphany in which the Befana brings gifts to children and puts them in a stocking. To the children who have been "bad" during the year she brings a piece of coal as a gift...
