I'm loving this 371 build! My buddy has a 371 that I have had to baby a bunch because it was a cheap purchase from someone who didn't know how to put the thing together that well. It had cardboard jammed under the carb because the rubber mount was hard and broken, and it took a ton of messing with the throttle cable. But it runs real nice otherwise. Hopefully those thunder showers make their way to Nova Scotia, we have a major wild forest fire on the go really close to me on the outskirts of Halifax. We aren't allowed in the woods for anything at the moment.
It's easy to do,I have about a dozen 372,365 rebuilt right now love them.I'm working on a jonsered 80 trying to get spark.I may have to put a electric starter on it(haha)it's a beast.
Tinman! I have been struggling with the assembly of a new Operator Presence spring & Throttle cable for some time now and still cant find any resources that really show whats going on. All the replacement throttle cables I get seem to be slightly too large and have too much slack in them. At full trigger press i barely get half throttle and and have alot of cable slack inside the trigger mechanism. I also cannot get my replacement operator presence springs to seat correctly resulting in the trigger not fully returning when its released. Its driving me mad and I cant find any videos or diagrams really showing the spring placement or troubleshooting my throttle cable issue. I have used 3 different throttle cables now and replaced the whole trigger assembly and still cant get one to fit correctly. Make a video segment of just minor repairs/replacements for the noobs out there!
Bos saya pernah memperbaiki karburator walbro seperti itu. Tapi kenapa ada bahan bakar yang selalu menetes saat mesin mati. Dan masuk ke bagian dalam mesin. Dan pada akhirnya susah di hidupkan😂
My hat is off to you Tinman .... i never i mean never get caught up with yard work !! . In Franktown ontario planting the garden in 33 degree weather fire ban on . Cheers man.
You can use/make a thicker base gasket or sand/cut the combustion chamber to correct the squish measurement. These are options assuming that the bottom end is in good shape and it is not a mechanical failure causing the clearance issue.
@@tinmanssaws it's a 372 piston. I've made a gasket out of .030" gasket material, it gave me .025" of squish. Funny thing is, the original FT build I had no base gasket, and I never measured the squish, but upon my investigation into this, I placed the old setup back on the case, (no gasket), and there was .002" of squish, so it's a wonder it ran as long as it did.
I'd love to get my hands on a 371 and some chinese cylinders to practice port work on one day. I'm new to it and I've been doing work on smaller homeowner huskys (55, 51) but the gains would probably be more pronounced on bigger stuff. Keep inspiring, Tinman.

I was hoping it was the camera angle but the screw on the clamp looked long when it was on the left.

Is the piston a 372 or 272 piston??

Never knew what those sleeves over the carb bolts were for but have always reused them. Just assumed they were for alignment lol! Thanks for sharing!
