I am a regular user of this airport. Forget going downstairs. Head upstairs, floor 4 departures. Go outside and get into the first taxi waiting. He would have just dropped off someone and would be grateful for a client because otherwise he has to exit and re-enter the airport facility. Make sure 35THB is displayed on the meter, if anything else is displayed or he mentions a premium for the airport then simply threaten to leave the vehicle.
Just ignore the touts and head out, once through the rotating doors your in the main place for a taxi. I would suggest if your heading into Bangkok take the train, its a great ride.
Good info, Phil. Will be there in Dec with family. About the 11th or 12th trip to BKK. Booked van for airport to Hotel in Sukhumvit transfer. bhatt 1300. Much luggage.!! Best wishes.
oh thank you. Funny if its only 20mins people should really take advantage of this. Our place of stay is at Siam Square probably just take a Tuk Tuk from the station.
Hi ~~Phil. Well, in fact, I think to Bangkok city center by Taxi is absolutely not only transportaion. I must say to take Taxi is too expensive. I need around 350 ~~450 Thialnad Bhat..However, it you go down underground of Airport center to take City Line. It's just need 35 Bhat to city center. You must get off at Makkasan station and exchange to MRT (Metro). That station name is Phetchaburi. Although you must take around 5 miuntes to MRT station, I think it's worth to save your money......
if you go upstairs to departures. and grab a taxi up there. Avoid all the hassle at the taxi stand it should cost 250 baht from airport to around NANA bts station
Do the taxi stand workers understand english? you seemed to be speaking thai with them..how does one tell the taxi stand worker where they want to go if they don't speak thai?
Yes they understand English, but I suggest you print out or take pic with cellphone the destination you are going to written in Thai to make it even easier, get the hotel or friend to email it to you if not already on website
Was there a ticket machine when you were there? I was there in 2015 and I came in late at night. The dispatcher told me to press the button and it prints out a ticket for the taxi lane. Then I went to that lane to get my taxi.
Lol u got lost straight away Minot sure bout this......haha nah on a serious note thanks for the advise arriving in just over a week this should be handy
well - the BTS from Airport to BKK is ok - than you must change in the city - ok - than its a bit difficult if you are there for the 1st time - and its not nice to use your luggage there in the BTS while its rushhour - but at the endstation of the Airport BTS there are also Taxis - and than its easier and cheper to drive through the city - but everyone makes it different. I for example had been now in BKK 4 times and i ordererd each time a hotel car to drive me from airport to hotel because i always arrive in BKK at 6 am - so its nicer to do like that.
Magnificent Airport,Thank you Phil for the Informative Video,Please keep them coming!

I pass through Bangkok twice a year and go up to departures and take a taxi there. Save that 50 bhatt, over the years that does add up.

The train stops at matksan its not to far to siam square. Best jump a cab rather than Tuk tuk should be about 40 - 50 baht for the short ride.
hi, nice video. I hope to go to bangkok soon. I hope I don't get lost. I'm not a savvy traveler but this helped some.
The Train takes about 20 mins to down town BKK. Cost 100 baht , as far as i know they are run from about 6am
bangkok airport is pretty easy similar to chiang mai only bigger . thats why they have signs lol so tourist can look at them to know where to go
I've visited BKK many times but I still found this very informative. Do you have any objections to filming people or are you using a discreet camera?
Do you plan to do an update video? I heard the attendant has been replaced by kiosk
After midnight is it better to take highway pay tolls to sumkhavit?
How long does it take to get to Siam Square Bangkok from airport?
Are they open early as well?
thank you. it helped my girlfriend, sir! nice video
take ARL to Phaya thai station, then transfer to BTS,,,,,
I prefer to use the private transfer
How much is the cos to pratunam area

Your Thai sounds good :-)

Sir
i wouldnt take a taxi from the airport to BKK inner city - i would take the skytrain - cheaper - faster - cleaner
+GorToma But you have to muck around with connections on to the BTS. I'd argue its much quicker to get a cab outside of peak hour.
