"Same skin that was broken, be the same skin taking over" .. No one catches that in any of the reaction vids I've seen.. Now THAT is a powerful message. I love my melanin skin. 🥰💁🏾♀️
The other girl Beyonce is holding (the baby) is her daughter, Rumi. Beyonce has twins. The girl she's holding is one of the twins. The other twin is a male, his name is Sir! This song is incredible and so empowering. Just imagine her concert singing this song with 80,000 others singing along. Beyonce is such an inspiration I swear
Jonah, it is an amazing video crossing timelines of history of the black child and the playful times of children. The position of an older woman playing with a younger child, an aunt or grandmother as you will is such a vivid memory for me as a child playing hand games and ring games. This is such a pure moment of the "brown skin girl" growing up. Powerful song and video.
Yes! A lot of other people talks through the videos and may miss some lyrics or important parts of the song, they actually listen and analyze every verse and appreciate it lol
Another way to look at this is that many or too many black women for a variety of reasons, like colorism, don’t accept themselves. For children who haven’t reached the age or haven’t had their beauty reinforced by those that look and love this song resonates.
I loved how attentive you were. Black woman grow up with so much self-esteem issues with racism so deeply rooted its hard to look yourself in the mirror and see beauty. We are the backbone in our family caring for everyone and being cared for. Thanks guys for your reaction video.
I feel like Beyoncé is also the perfect person to have done this song because of the power she possesses and then advocating for something a ton of black women all around the world struggle with finding confidence and beauty in their skin is amazing ❤️
To me, the debutante ball scene reflects the balls they would have in New Orleans in which the girls had to be of a specific hue (extremely light; almost white). The young ladies in the ball are beautiful for they saw their beauty. The little girl was in awe of their beauty; looking down on her own for she only saw her dark melanin. This is exceptional for the here and now for its been passed down for years how others feel “lighter is better” (especially passed down from slavery). So at the end, the little girl is now a debutante for she has accepted and loves who she is, who she represents, and knows her story. Self-love is so beautiful until someone plants that seed diminishing their self-worth and their power (great segue for Black is King has a song called Power referencing the same).
You are confusing quadroon balls with debutante balls. Quadroon Balls- women of color attended lavish dances with the hope of forming a plaçage relationships with eligible white men. But the historic practice of plaçage relationships between white men and free women of color were legally binding contractual agreements, drawn up in the presence of a notary public. In these arrangements for monogamous or extramarital relationships, women were typically set up with a house and income, and any children were financially provided for by the white father. Americans had outlawed marriages between races and made it very difficult for children of color to inherit from their colonial fathers. Plaçage agreements were a logical alternative; couples also simply cohabited.----A debutante cotillion is the introduction of a young woman into society. The first official Black debutante ball was held in New Orleans in 1895.By the early-20th century, African American families were becoming upwardly mobile and achieving middle-class status. By 1920, L.A. had the fastest-growing Black population in the country. More women were pursuing a higher education, which led to the rise of women’s clubs, including sororities, nonprofits, and social organizations.
Beyoncé is a natural treasure. She does it all and is definitely an inspiration to, not only black women everywhere, but to women in general. This visual is a beautiful sentiment. And hell yeah, she has 3 kids!!! Where have y'all been?! Under a rock lol.
Just to note, all these songs are a year old. Released last year for the lion king. She just happeend to release the visuals at this time. She was working on it all 2019 on a trip to South Africa and Ghana
Loved your reaction and attention to the message! I don't know if you didn't notice (since you didn't mention), Naomi Campbell and Lupita Nyong'o were in the video as well. She also mentions them in the song as they appear on screen, just before Kelly.
Yeah, so actually the film “Black Is King” is dedicated to her son, Sir. Rumi is the little girl she’s holding which is her other daughter. Sir and Rumi are twins~
So Beyoncé gives us this Amazing Song about embracing your skin colour with pride but BOLLYWOOD literally releases a Racist Song titled ‘Beyoncé Sharma Jayegi’ which means ‘ Beyoncé will feel Ashamed/Shy away’. So this Racist Bollywood song has a lot of problematic lines saying Beyoncé will shy away after seeing The FAIR SKINNED GIRL (the Actress). Like WTF . We are a country of a billion Brown skinned People!!! Time and again Bollywood insinuates that Fait Skin is the Ideal type . Please share this so that this song is rectified /taken down . 🙏
Notice how this video has dark skin indian representation as well when bollywood hardly ever deals with dark skin Indians? Yeah, it is bollywood that should be ashamed, not Beyoncé.
Great review! I noticed you probably not familiar with WIZKID. You should check him out. He was on Drake's One Dance. He's Nigerian, one of the Greatest from Africa.
You guys also have let slip the Lupita she's talking in the first verse she is in the red dress in many parts of the video. She's the kenyan actress Lupita Nyong'o, Oscar winner for 12 years a slave. Anyway, like the video
Love Beyoncé, love this song, and love your channel. When you react, you really listen and I appreciate that. Great job guys, enjoy each time I watch your videos!
I love the way "Beards" (sorry man I'll just have to call you beards) always looks serious during the analysis, like he's performing a surgical procedure. He's not joking around in these reactions, man's here for business. 😂
She is not talking about just black women in general, she is talking about brown/dark skinned women specifically. Because even in our own community colourism exist, and the darker you are the less beautiful you're viewed.
Tina has two natural girls Solange and beyounce and kelly is like a daughter to her and a sister to bey and Solange. And the little girl is Beyoncé daughter blue ivy and a granddaughter to tina.
This is the only Beyonce song I know. For the hairstyles you didn't react to that part properly they are showcasing different styles black people do their hair.
Beyoncé has 3 kids, blue ivy and a set of twins, ones a girl and the other twin is a boy. She just chooses not to but them on the internet because of all the mean things people have said about blue ivy.
I’m sorry but y’all maybe should not have covered this. The reason why is because y’all missed several marks and I assume because you’re not brown skin (including the Hispanic. In over country they’re considered “white”) This video is not only about black people. There’s two south Asian women in the video, as well. It’s about “brown skin girls” - blacks, Indians/Desi/South Asians. You remarks were very generic and on the surface, and not being mean, it’s due to you not living the brown skin life. There’s so much more I want to say but I’ll end it here due to the length
I would just like to spread the good news, and I wanted you to know that the Lord is coming sooner than we think and I wanted to tell you to repent and trust in God your creator. Jesus died on the cross so that our sins, past, present, and future would be forgiven. God loves you
"Same skin that was broken, be the same skin taking over" .. No one catches that in any of the reaction vids I've seen.. Now THAT is a powerful message. I love my melanin skin. 🥰💁🏾♀️
Wait- 😮
Kelly was featured in this visual because she has gone on record saying she always struggled finding beauty in her dark chocolate skin
Or bc they’re best friends and her name is in the lyrics.
@@k.alvarado6237 she has spoken about that though.
@@k.alvarado6237 Exactly, Beyoncé created the song with Kelly in mind, so she had to be in the visuals
I always thought Kelly’s skin was so beautiful

I love that their actually listening to the lyrics but at the same time paying attention to the music video best reaction channel❤️
I was thinking the same thing. Awesome!
Yes! A lot of other people talks through the videos and may miss some lyrics or important parts of the song, they actually listen and analyze every verse and appreciate it lol
That's exactly what I was thinking. They were listening to the lyrics instead of only the video. Best reaction video!!
Weirdos

Say thanks To WIZKID
I love afrobeat❤️
I love the fact that they don’t just listen to the song but describe and analyze it for you👍
👏👏👏

Beyonce has 3 kids blue ivy( the oldest) and twin babies( a boy and girl) and that was the baby girl she was holding.
"pretty like lupita when the cameras close in" love that verse
I love how she showcased the Black cotillion, which was/has been a long time staple within The Community....
Loved your reaction and attention to the message! I don't know if you didn't notice (since you didn't mention), Naomi Campbell and Lupita Nyong'o were in the video as well. She also mentions them in the song as they appear on screen, just before Kelly.
Mma Mahlangu, Sawubona , Pretty like Lupita when the camera closes in. I love the soft seductive dance move of lupita in that red dress.
Yeah, so actually the film “Black Is King” is dedicated to her son, Sir. Rumi is the little girl she’s holding which is her other daughter. Sir and Rumi are twins~
