I know what you mean about taking it for granted. I have an Audi RS Etron GT. At first I was driving it around town with a big happy smile on my face smiling back at people who admired it as it is eye catching just like the M8, and because it’s pretty rare, people don’t always know what they are looking at. Having owned it for a over a year now, that novelty has wore off and I forget how lucky I am to be in such a beautiful and powerful car. Pedestrians looking at it or other drivers creeping alongside (like I won’t notice 😂) to see who the driver is has grown old. Having put 14,000 miles on it (mostly on busy UK motorways - ie wasted miles) I had to get something else to put those miles on. I now daily a 2.0 5 series touring and you can’t beat it for practicality (and it still looks the part with the M styling, 20” wheels aggressive grille and sideskirts) Makes me appreciate the RS a little more at the weekends to and feels more of a special occasion. As soon as I hit that throttle it reminds me why I parted with the cash for it. Like you I never dreamed I’d be in a position to own such a car and if you’d of told me back then that I would own one and not always appreciate it I would have insisted you were wrong.
The Etron is a beautiful car. I agree with everything you said. I'd never have thought I'd own then car if you'd told me so back in college when I was driving Honda Civics, great of cars as they were at the time.
Awesome video SnareMan...glad you are loving your M8, and man she looks clean! How did the speaker upgrade work? I bet if Matt or any of the #ObsessedGarage team see this video they will like it! 😁
The real question.... How has the dash and steering wheel held up to the drumming?? Gorgeous car though nim not a bmw fan but the m8 platform is a beautiful aggressive profile. Nice car brother.
Love the spec. What are your thoughts of getting one as a second owner/out of warranty? The 2020-21 models have depcreiated a good bit and these cross off many of the boxes Im looking for in a new vehicle. I am rather dedicated to the V8 and two doors, which is keeping me away from the G82. Other cars Ive been looking at are the C7 Z06 but these are newer and would perform my daily duties much better than the corvette.
I haven't really had any problems with mine so presumably if you could find a nice one it should be ok out of warranty. I've heard about the depreciation. Not looking forward to trading it in compared to what I paid for it
Hi @snareman. I need to spec my M4 Comp for an individual colour and really confused between Gentian and Santorini blue. Seeing you’ve had both could you shed some light. I want a gloss colour for sure and both look similar but don’t mind a slightly deeper blue which the Gentian may be. Saw the Santorini on the new M5 and again got a bit confused. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
Hi. Sorry for the slow reply. I agonized through all of the same color problems trying to pick out one! I feel your pain. They are just a shade different with Gentian/Enzian being slightly darker. They are super similar. If I had it to do over again having seen it in person now I'd actually get Voodoo. If you want to see the comparison in person I did spend a bunch of money and have some painted. www.ebay.com/itm/144381991800
@ 800000 is a neighborhood in a real city and yes where you live has everything to do with your taste and culture. You can be worth 100 million in Oklahoma vs being worth 100 million on the upper East Side of Manhattan.
That is GORGEOUS.
Thanks!

The speaker upgrade sounds great. Not all the way to B&W, but definitely better than the stock HK system.
@@SnareMan Cool! Very hard to get to that level anywhere...let alone in a car without some gold bars. LOL
I'm totally into German cars: I have half a million miles in VW TDIs! LOL. Seriously, congratulations on still being in love. It is a beautiful ride.
@@LDR1100RS Thanks for the kind words. My friend had a few tdi's. They seem like great cars.
Beautiful car!! Keep it forever
Thanks! Plan is hopefully til the spring of next year if all goes well
@@SnareMan V8's are sadly disappearing.
@@arcflashed Sadly they are. I'm planning on downsizing to a 6 cylinder, but upsizing to a 911. 🙂

@@brown55061 thankfully they apparently took drummers into consideration when they made the steering wheel as it has held up well
Cool car, first time seeing one. Looks like a more sleek Mustang.
Yea, they have a similarish profile.
Nice car, happy for you! I think I'll stick to my 17 year old Renault Clio, less afraid to scratch it. 😀
There is definitely something to be said for a paid off car that you are not worried about

Very cool bimmer! The exhaust sounds very ballsy! 😂
Thanks. Yes it does. I'm always a little nervous turning starting it in my garage at 6:30am, even in just regular mode.

You shouldn’t be allowed to buy such a car if you live in BFE!
I assume you're implying that I live in BFE, which I don't. City of 800,000. But I don't think where you have has any part on who can buy a car. 🙄

@@drstevej2527 Yes, agreed. Very different cities. But where you live still makes no sense on who can buy what

Where you live determines your taste. For instance no one would be caught dead in this color car with an Ivy League diploma on their wall.
