- Is the BMW M8 a case of "never meet your hero"?.. This car has always been one of my favourite BMW's. However, I have never got around to trying one. But finally I have one on my hands and it is time for me to face the reality. Is The BMW M8 a car I will like?

I bought my wife the 840i Gran Coupe for our family daily car , obviously its not M8 but its a great car and looks pretty similar- remapped to 420bhp so perfect for an affordable daily for less than £50k and fine for 2 adults n 2 kids.
How’s is it during winter months in UK
This car can be optioned with adaptive cruise control when ordering. The option is called Driving Assistance Professional which includes stop & go cruise control, configurable distance the car should keep between the car ahead, speed limit/road sign recognition, automatic lane centering and crash avoidance.

Id pick an M8 grand coupe over literally any other family car. Only other family car i would have choose over it is a wagon version of the gran coupe, but that doesnt exist and would have to be custom built soooo. IMO, the best looking BMW ever made, with the F87 M2 Comp in second place, G30/F90 5-series in third, then the F80 M3 comp in fourth.

I've been driving 6 series grand-coupe for years. I think most underrated BMW ever . Same applies to 8 series , way too underrated ! Perfect cars with 4 doors but slick coupe look . 3.0litre powerful engine . ohh by the way I can't even imagine M8 comp grand-coupe as daily :D

I really love the M8 but think the M850 for a daily is the brtteer way to go. You still get a twin turbo V8 that's more comfy and was actually built for daily driving. It also sounds more like an AMG than a BMW, so cruising around town is full of theater. The handling may not be on the M8 level but it still beats any Merc or Audi competitor. 🤷♂️
Congratulations on the car! I own an M850i grand coupe and my dad M760i. I love the fact that content creators are still making reviews on the outgoing BMWs. BMW is going in a completely different direction and these M8’s will be extremely desirable years from now.
That 4.4 V8 has surely got to go down as one of BMW's greatest engines, it just seems to be able to put out more and more power every time the revise it and seems to be generally reliable (As far as high performance engines go).

It will be a future classic. Had mine for 6 months now. Best of both Comfort and performance. All I did was upgrade the suspension, 21s and got the carbahn mono ball kit. Handling is superb now.

To do launch control, put the gearbox in manual, put it in the most aggressive setting, turn of traction control, left foot on the break, right foot on the gas and then you’d see the launch control sign come up, for some reason it will only launch in manual.

They should have updated the interior. The out dated previous generation I-drive doesn’t do justice to it in 2024.

Use to have a 2020 m8 comp its an amazing car. Far better then any merc or audi. I now have a g82 m4 2024.

I’ve fitted carbon brake pads to my Mercedes, much better brake performance and 90% less dust, not sure how much carbon in them, but brilliant.

Really solid car very under rated
M3 and M4 are the best M power cars. 8 series has a larger body but interior space is not even good as M3. Plus M3 drives way better and have better vision on driver’s seat.
