The fact that the cops can just take all the money in my pocket *without even charging me with a single crime* is terrifying.

This woman should get an order of enforcement against the Mint Hill police, walk in with a team of Sheriff deputies and confiscate as many assets as they can carry and drive away with. Civil asset forfeiture turns police into an organized crime ring.

Since law enforcement always goes beyond what is allowed, asset forfeiture needs to be done away with, not just altered. For instance, TSA's x-ray screening is used to find which travelers are carrying large amounts of cash, giving that information to DEA and DEA is lying to the passenger in order to steal the cash he is carrying. Then the DEA thieves are not allowed to be prosecuted because of the immunity granted them by Congress. DEA steals millions of dollars this way from law abiding citizens for what DEA apparently claims the cash has broken a law.

I love how the mint hill legal rep was perfectly at ease with stealing the money because it was legal. Just because it's legal doesn't make it right. The legal rep seems morally ambiguous and willing to change his beliefs if the law changes. It's stealing and it's wrong, even if it's the police, maybe doubly so.

EVERYONE will have to answer to God one day. Justice is coming, wrath is coming. Find yourselves hanging out to with Jesus, repented, and doing the Lords will. Or, forbid it be too late, find yourselves weeping, and gnashing your teeth. There is a consequence for your actions, the Lord doesn't care what your title is down here, you will reap what you have sown. Better lock arms with Christ Jesus. This clip here is no shocking news, the world has turned away from God yet again. The days of Noah are back, Sodom and Gomorrah is back, few will be saved, then death and destruction. Find yourselves on the ark. Correction is coming. Tsunamis, war, famine, a catastrophe that has never been before or after, is coming. It's what we deserve. Get right or get left. Do not let this news blow your mind, it is no new thing, but the devil is picking up speed. I say to you do not be distracted now. We ARE the generation. It's going down
    ‼️Urgent warning‼️JESUS IS COMING.

I can't help but laugh at all the naive people commenting here....if y'all think this is bad, try traveling with cash! The tsa and the dea have teamed up to confiscate cash at airports! The indianapolis pd has a team inside the fedex distribution center to confiscate ANY cash going through there! tennessee cops routinely stop and confiscate cash from people, one man pulled over had his just cashed pay confiscated because he had a few dollars left from his last paycheck and he was carrying more cash than listed on his paystub....wake up people, it's coast to coast!

I would love to see civil asset forfeiture laws gone abolished, but the truth is there is so much money to be made that i do not think it will ever go away.
In addition civil asset forfeiture allows small town police dept.s to make a lot of money to pay for over time and new equipment, Under Civil asset forfeiture laws and law enforcement agency can take your money without charging you of a crime. I am 67 years old and to me that is STEALING plain and simple, So if they (Law Enforcement) can steal for me for no reason then I can steal from them. It is only fair right, You find out were the police officer lives and you go into his home when he is not there and take his stuff under the law of civil asset forfeiture laws

Pass laws making it fairer and the police just go around using the federal law. At least it wasn't sending the DA to Hawaii, hiring hookers and using pot, buying margaritas machines, booze like in some documented cases. The way the law is set up now departments can spend it anyway they want to do so. At least in this case someone was charged. Often no one is charged. They stop you for traffic reason and search they seize cash. Sometimes just small amounts. Cost you more to prove the cash innocent than you lost. Currently stopping people boarding airplanes and taking you cash. Justify it using dogs that alert and often make you miss your flight which is non refundable. They give cash rewards to TSA who send them alerts. Mind you average amount seized is 1500 dollars. DEA deputized local police and they share proceeds. DEA seizes over a billion a year. One department checking passengers named its dog "CASH". It's a joke to them. Laws need to change so money is not automatically guilty and the state has to prove their case. Money needs to not go to departments that are incentivized to take it but to victims funds. The Feds and Sherriff Association have spend big buck fighting to keep bills from going to Congress. It's suggested it's a big tool fighting cartels. Unfortunately very little money is associated with it. People are not for seizure of drug money found with drugs. It's taking it from everyday citizens.
