I'm 46, 6'0 and 240lbs so your opinion is way more valuable than some 20 year old kid telling me what he thinks. Appreciate it
Thank you
I have hunted out of a tetherd saddle for years and now I got the jx3 hybrid and it's like night and day I love my jx3 so cunfy and versatile I will never go back to a regular saddle again great vidio
Welcome to the JX3 family
@@publiclandrambler thank you
One of the best saddle reviews I've seen . Thank you! Definitely convinced me to go with JX3. Those guys owe you some money!
Thank you. Be sure to use the discount code ST23 when you're ordering. It saves you a little money
Been hunting out of my Webb since 2015 it’s the most comfortable stand I ever had ! It’s getting worn out I’m getting me a JX 3 this year
Awesome review!
The JX3 is an updated Guidos Webb
The owner of JX3 worked with Guido's and bought the company when he retired. John made some improvements and created the JX3 from it.
That’s right! I had to make adjustments to my Webb too over the years, I just hope I will like the JX3 as much as my Webb!
I like how the JX3 looks cooler to sit in too during early season with the mesh seat!
Great review bud!
This is the 1st I’ve heard of this saddle. Great vid!!
Thank you.
They're the best secret in the woods but we're working on getting the word out about them. 😁
Wow, very cool review! Been looking at saddles and never knew of these hybrids. Definitely gonna take a look at these, too!
Thank you.
UPS just dropped mine off. So pumpedtraditinal saddles are uncomfortable and I find myself constantly adjusting for hot spots. So excited about saving my back!
Take your time to get it dialed in and it'll blow your mind.
Whenever my Guido’sWeb wears out, I’m gonna get a JX3! I’ve been hung out of my Guidos web for 10 years now, and I still love it! I know Butch Guido went out of business and they don’t make them anymore ……. The fork makes all the difference. Thanks for the review. Awesome.
The owner of JX3 bought Guido's when Butch retired. He spent a couple years making improvements to it.
You'll be happy with it when you get your web worn out.
@@publiclandrambler oh cool, that make sense. They are hands-down, the most comfortable saddles out there.
Just bought one. Cant wait
They're fast on shipping.
Nice job. I am new to saddle hunting and purchased a JX3 and love it. It is extremely comfortable. Not fond of the JX3 sticks as I find it difficult to get both feet side by side when initially climbing.
The bottom step is a single step but the top step accommodates both feet. When I first started using them I didn't like the bottom step either but now I just move up to the top and work from there.
Been tempted to try a saddle great review bud !!!
Thank you
Great looking set up! Thanks for the demo!😁
It's an awesome system
Nicely done sir! The versa pak and new bow holder look great!
Thanks. I like them 😁
Looks reasonably comfortable. I didn't see a climbing safety line and how do you shoot to your right side?
It has a lineman rope attached to it but I didn't use it in this video.
Shooting to your weak side, you can come over your bridge or simply move around the tree to make it a strong side shot.
This is a video I posted showing some difficult shot angles.

Very interesting.
Nice work!
Thanks
I want one, but I just want to try it first. Maybe I'll catch the next southern show. I got to know if it's more comfortable than my diy bosun seat, with a back strap. You would think it would be, with rigid back, and the material it's made of. But I have to say I'm already pretty cozy. But it looks better for packing. I can one stix with my bosun seat (I'm sure one could with the jx3 as well). Using the S.MA.R.T. climbing method. Watch (One Stixing like a BOSS). Instead of a stix you would just need another tether to put your weight onto, so you can advance the climbing line. It's simple, easy, and safe. I wouldn't recommend it to a big man if it wasn't. I hope you try it. I hope you like it and leave a comment. Thanks.
It's extremely comfortable. I use a two tether climbing system when I need to get higher than my sticks will reach.
@@publiclandrambler I'm sure it is, just need to try it first. Yeah, that 2tc isn't for me. I tried it 5 yrs. ago, dern near killed myself. Well maybe you'll try the S.M.A.R.T. method one day. Thanks, be safe.
Very good review!
I am also a trad bow shooter. Last year I shot long bow and gonna try recurve this year. For the weak side shot, are you circling the tree all the way, or is there anyway to stand and turn to shoot?
Also, do you ever tuck into cover with it or do you always have to be on a power pole like tree?
I prefer the cover even at the sacrifice of the 360 degree shooting.
Thanks!
I believe it’s your review that is going to make me order this saddle hybrid. The best I saw on RUclips yet. I saw the weight rating is 300 lbs. I am 6”5 290. Should I be concerned at all?
I'm 330 and was 350 when I first got mine, and I've never had any issues with it.
How effective and efficient could a crossbow hunter be out the jx3 , far as maneuvering around and trying to shoot with normal crossbow ?
I've never shot a crossbow from one, but I know a lot of people do. I've never heard any complaints about it.
It would be pretty similar to shooting a rifle, though. You have plenty of clearance for the limbs when you're shooting to the side whether it's a strong side or weak side shot.
Best review I’ve seen on here for any saddle! What website do I find this bad boy saddle on?
Thank you.

Did you use the Carabiners that came with it? Or did you buy bigger ones? Im 6'2 350 and curious what part if any were the sketchiest.
I use the ones that come with the JX3. The only thing I've changed is I use a Ropeman instead of the prussic.
I don't believe any part of it is sketchy, but it does take a couple sits to fully trust the system. That's the same with any saddle though.
This guy told me when I was looking at a climber to check this out and I’d throw my climbers away I ordered one today we shall see
That was me in Walmart.
If you have any questions when you get it, ask and I'll help you out.
Just out of curiosity. I’m a big guy and the weight limit is 300 on this. As someone that is just a little over. And has to have cold-weather clothes to use something like this. Is this a dealbreaker?
I was 350+ when I first got my JX3. When this video was made, I was 330-340 and I've always been fine in it.
I had a couple days where I had my bridge twisted (rushing to get set up) and it would get pretty tight those days, though.
Well done demo.
Thank you
I currently hunt out of a latitude method 2 and I like it, I just really want to try out a JX3.
I wonder how it will feel while climbing a 1 stick.
A lot of people one stick with it but I haven't. I have climbed using two tether and it was fine.
Great video!
Thanks
Great job my friend
Thank you
Would you mind sharing your height and weight? I’m a big fella, and you are the first review I’ve seen of a guy my size, I’m really interested in the JX3. Thanks.
I'm 6'3" 330
@@publiclandrambler thanks brother, I’m 6’4, 340…I think I’m gonna have to give it a try!!!
@@LockedUpOutdoorsNY I believe you'll love it. Be sure to use the discount code ST23 to save a little money
How much does the setup without the sticks weigh? I’m tempted to buy one of these if it’s enough weight savings but a little worried about the cables impeding shooting
It's right at 8 pounds without the sticks. The bridge doesn't hurt your shooting at all. I shoot traditional bows and muzzleloaders without any problems. (One of my bows is 74" long also.
Just take a 2’ length of 11mm rope and make a prussic knot to use as a tether loop holder. Leave it on the rope. Tether won’t drop/slide
The tether on a JX3 doesn't drop or slide because it has a built in keeper.
One of the best things about the JX3 is you have a long list of other "accessories" other saddle hunters have to buy, that you never have to think about because it's either already built into the saddle or designed to keep you from ever needing it.
Great video. Been using my JX3 Hybrid for three years. This will be my first year with the sticks. Just curious what do you do with the ropes? I see a couple of slipknot’s or something.
If you mean what do I do with them while I'm packing them, I use them to tie all of the sticks together. I'll try and get a video of it this weekend.
What does the system weigh?
The saddle and ropes weigh about 12 pounds. The frame allows it to be very comfortable when packing it in.
The frame will also carry 100 pounds, so you can pack meat out on it.
@@publiclandrambler thanks for your reply I really like the content keep it up
does it come with every thing you need far as ropes and stuff?
It comes with the linesman rope, tether, two caribeners and prussic loops. The only extra item you'll need is a way to climb the tree.
Nice video! 👍😎
Thanks,
Where did you get that bow holder attached to your dump pouch?
It's the new bow holder from JX3. They should be available on the website before long.
I've always been a climber guy. Just seems like a lot of moving parts. It does look really comfortable. How easy is it to set up a climb in the dark?
It's extremely simple. The only "moving parts" are hooking up your linesman rope, and attaching your bridge. That's a total of three carabineers.
As far as doing it in the dark, it's the same as a climber. Once you get over the learning curve, you know where everything is so it becomes muscle memory.
Glen Campbell wrote a song about those belts decades ago.
Wichita Lineman
Actually his song was about the workers (linesman)
The ropes are directly from the linesmen. That's why they're called linesmen ropes.
I am thinking of purchasing the jx3 and I'm also thinking of taking on the challenge of hunting with a SLING-BOW / SLING SHOT made by : chief A.J.'s/ Tony's elite sling bow that shoots 150- 200fps depending on arrow set up ! Its about as efficient as a traditional bow and it minimal design allows u to hunt in trees brush bushes etc. & never worry about allowing room to shoot a bow or anything just tuck yourself back in group of trees and have better close encounters i believe ! Check out big game hunting with chief AJs elite sling bow on RUclips, its pretty cool ...
Good luck to you. I'll check it out
Wow the crickets sound great. Wish I could hear your review though
Thanks for your comment.
The best review I have seen on the JX3. I have a Cruzr but have a decent amount of hip pinch because i am a big dude even though I have the hip pinch tool. Could I ask about your weight and waist size? I’m almost committed to trying one but don’t wanna order it then find I’m just to big for it. Thanks.
I'm 6'3" 330. I was 350 when I first got the JX3. I got down to 300 two seasons ago and it was even more comfortable.
@@publiclandrambler the main thing I’m worried about is the bridge straps cutting into the sides of my stomach, currently having that problem. I did just see that the jx3 has a 30 day money back guarantee though so that makes me feel a lot better.
@@wannabesportsman356 the only time I've had that happen is when I had bridge twisted when I hooked into it. It caused it to be tighter than usual.
@@publiclandrambler thanks alot!
thank you i have sticks
I really enjoy my sticks. They work awesome as a package with the JX3
The seat design looks like it will put pressure on the ends of your legs and cut off blood flow where the trampoline material meets the hard edge of the seat
It doesn't. I have a bad back and hip from rodeo injuries and I had to quit hunting from ladders and climbers because of the pressure on my legs. They would go numb after about 30 minutes. I've never had a problem sitting in the JX3. I average 4-5 hours per hunt but I do several daylight to dark sits a season. I can sit all day in it and I'm not sore that night or the next day.
They also offer a cushion that makes it even more comfortable.
Sure is a great setup but at this point just get a hang on..
The problem with that is the climber severely limits your hunting.
With the JX3 you're not limited to straight limbless trees, like you are with a climber. With a climber you have to climb the tree. With the JX3 you have the option to tether in at the base of the tree or convert it to the ground seat and hunt from anywhere on the ground. When you kill a deer in the climber, you have to carry it out while dragging the deer. With the JX3, you simply bone it out and pack it out on the JX3.
Its just wasnt for me. To bulky, heavy and awkward to shoot out of. Different strokes for different folks. Hope you let the air outta a big one this year bud!
Thanks for the comment. I actually enjoy shooting from it.
@@publiclandrambler like I said, different strokes
Looks uncomfortable like tethered waste
What is it about the JX3 that makes you assume it's not comfortable?
I wasted my money on tethered
A lot of people have done that. The good news is there is always someone out there that still believes they're awesome and you can sell it to them and get a JX3.
To
Much crap to drag into the woods
Your assumptions are highly inaccurate.
The average saddle hunter carries a lot more gear into the woods than I do.
The JX3 Hybrid is all one piece, so you're only "dragging" the saddle and sticks.
@@publiclandrambler set a ladder stand I carry nothing lol
@@publiclandrambler I’ve tried these saddles for me they’re way to uncomfortable
@@jasonnester9514 yeah your comments sounds about as stupid as a screen door on a submarine... this video is about mobile hunting and nothing about what stands are easy or best ... I'd like to see u on public land running around in dark with ladder stand trying find your tree to hunt and set up ...😂gtfoh Einstein !
