I have dual ZA3's with Sparkos in right channel and XLR. A was very impressed when I removed all unused opamps - left channel & both sub out. Vocals became full and open, more air and even wider soundstage, no harshness left in the highs.
Interesting some are saying both channels need op amps even in mono operation. Cool that you have it with only the one channel. Also interesting that removing the sub op amps had an effect. Very useful information, thanks for sharing and subscribing!
Hi, did u try listening after just the left taken out and before taking out the sub or did you just take both out and conclude that taking both out helps more than just one? Thanks@@RomanBagdasarov
I am also curious if taking them out without replacing them is suggested or not. I will follow up with fosi and SparkoS to hear what they have to say. SparkoS recommended that I use two op amps for right and left channels even in mono operation originally, so I am curious. Some say it's required and others say it's not. Let me know if you run into any issues just removing them...
@@intoitreviews check virtualHiFi video about this topic - he removed all op Amps except for right channel(sparkos) and IT works, also he felt difference in sound quality. I wait for mine sparkos to be shipped - i want ot gry IT out myself
I have not yet. I will definitely do one at some point. I do have a number of videos to get out first though. Feel free to join the discord to discuss specifics in the mealtime. I'm in there quite often. The modifications that were done will result in system specifics benefits or drawbacks unfortunately. It didn't make it a better or worse amp per say, although it does change the amp in some key ways. Some of these changes are postive, some of these changes are negative. I don't know if I would recommend the modifications for everyone, as the benefits are mostly system specific. Thanks for subscribing, and check out the discord!

Can you please explain if changing the xlr opamp has any sound benefits? I read changing that the opamp in that position is not required. I now have one Fosi with two sparkos for the left and right channel. If I want to run dual mono, would I just need to take out the left sparkos opamp and put it in the right one of the other amp? And I could leave the left spots empty? And just run the standard opamp of the xlr?
You would need two per chasis for balanced operation. One for the right channel and another for XLR. I do not recommend unbalanced operation. Thanks for subscribing.
Yes they were level matched. It likely sounds louder because it's more expressive of the frequency response in comparison to the za3. For example you can hear treble in the musical paradise that isn't expressed in the ZA3, as well as better separation and dimension to the sound. Thanks for subscribing to the channel!
Thanks for subscribing. If you don't mind a bit of treble extension missing, and you're willing to run it balanced in dual momo and upgrade to sparkos. Then yes.
Za3 is a fun amp for the money that can impress people at first but falls short of some other standouts on higher revealing speakers. With that said, if you need power then, it's a good budget offering. As you can hear it lacks some treble performance, but some may prefer that. If you would rather go active speakers, I wouldn't hold it against you, but for systems that perform the best, active isn't always an option beyond certain price points.
The volume is way, way louder on the Musical Paradise, so I have to turn down the volume by half. But even then, the MP certainly is more present and lively, leaving the ZA3 kinda muted and flat by comparison.
Interesting outcome in your system, they are volume matched using a DB meter, and unadjusted in editing for accuracy. Might be something funky going on with RUclips compression, which is always a risk with sound samples. Thanks for subscribing.
if you want a pleasant surprise then get the Hifiman HE6 adaptor ... and some nice speaker wire.... if you know how to braid then braid the speaker wire and plug that into the ZA3 mono and the other side of the speaker wire to the HE6 adaptor... now hook up your favorite headphones and your source... you'l have a hard time finding a better headphone amp with that setup.... and it will drive any headphone... even the Hifiman Susvara... be careful, its addicting..
Yeah I can't use anything but RUclips approved unfortunately. Most people have liked the recording, sorry you don't. Thanks for subscribing and supporting the channel anyways.

@ could I not leave the xlr opamp as is and replace the R channel with a sparkos?
So stock opamp on xlr and R channel with sparkos opamp? Since I have read that changing the xlr opamp does nothing for the sound
@tjeerdkruidhof5808 you could, but it won't sound as good.
@ well I heard that changing the opamp there has no sound benefits, the R opamp seems to have more benefits , but you have tested it I guess
Thanks for the comparison, appreciated. Have you level matched the ZA3 dual mono vs the MP301, as the latter sounds a bit louder?

Dali spektors will be good for this amp? Dynamic sound will present?

Yeah, za3 is being overhyped by other reviewers, but not this one. I always tell the truth.
