Great info. I wish I would have not been so busy and I would have got my broccoli ready for July. Rollypollies are the worst! I agree timing is very important! My local extension says to plant peas in February and I always struggled. I switched to March and they have done great ever since! Your garden is so lush and beautiful!

Thanks. Can you actually grow broccoli in July? Isn't it too hot? Yeeesss, the rollypollys keep eating my stuff! grr. Good that you figured out that March is better than February even though the extension office recommended earlier! and thank you!

@@gardeningwithcaitlin I wanted to try and start it inside for a month or so and see if it would work out. I seen someone in my state do it but I am further south than them. Maybe I will shoot for August and experiment!

Just came in from cramming all the leftovers into any blank spots out in the garden. Spinach and lettuce is toast (worm food) started more seeds the other day.
Everything looking good Caitlin. Garlic and onions look really awesome!
    Stay Well!!!!

I had to remove my 1st lot of plants as they were stunted, but happy to say the 2nd lot is doing great now!

I don’t feel I can do broccoli because all it did was go to seed; yet your explanation of why gives me the idea I may try by it next year. It’s very hard for me to get motivated to start plants inside but I am really going to try. Our growing season is late May because of long winters. Thanks 🙏🏼 for sharing your knowledge!

Yeah broccoli is really hard to do in the spring. Maybe you can buy a plant start from a nursery and plant yours in late summer and see how the timing works out.
Go for it! Get your fall crop of peas planted when it's time! When's your average first frost date? Mine is mid-october. I think I'll do my fall crop of peas late July early August.
      Yw!
