- Here is a quick guide on how you can get all legendary and mythical Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl for the Nintendo Switch. This includes Mewtwo, Mew, Ho-Oh, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Giratina, Regigigas and more!

I highly recommend fighting all opponents in Hearthome Gym as they are the only trainers in the game with a Drifloon (which you need to see for the National Dex). Otherwise, you can only see Drifloon on a Friday next to Floaroma Town (and no, you can't get Drifloon by changing the Switch's date)

They seriously didn't put the legendaries from after generation four in the game? The ruby and sapphire remakes also had legendaries from all the other generations, at that time, in those games in addition to the legendaries from those games. One reason why those remakes are better than these and another reason for me to not get these.

In my days of Gen 4, we considered Rotom as a legendary pokemon.

yes, but because it can have multiple copies of itself via breeding with ditto, it's not.
Manaphy breeding with ditto produces phione so it is still unique to only one of it's kind. phione is just the offspring of the mythical pokemon manaphy.
Yeah even though it isn't legendary people thought it was since it was the only regular Pokemon to have the legendary battle theme. Plus you found it in a creepy mansion at night as a static encounter so it felt special.
It did have the legendary battle music after all.
and thus a new pokemon tradition was started with having static non-legendry encounter like the later volcarona and victini.

It seems all legends except Sinnoh native legends and the Dogs lost their unique music. And even then Suicune’s theme is damn near unrecognizable

I'm glad you don't have to go through the whole "transfer Regis from previous gen" or in Platinum: "get event movie Regigigas to get individual Regis" shenanigans in order to get the Regis in this game.
I liked the idea, but the way in was executed in the original Diamond/Pearl and especially Platinum was kinda messy.
I believe that was the whole point of Regigigas before

I wish the Ramanas Park Pokémon had their own unique battle themes from their respective games.
Don't forget an unique background for each legendary. It was awful how they use only 3 for all of them

Words can not express how happy I am that they put so many legendaries in this post game like oras did AND they aren’t shiny locked, but my god getting those mysterious shards takes some mining
At least they don’t require real purchases. I’d rather legendaries take grinding to catch than them being locked behind dlc

Well if you have let's go Eevee or Pikachu it's obvious she'll give you a mew, I got jirachi, mew and manaphy (egg not from the old lady/man tho) lol
I think it would’ve been nice to have referenced the two other galar Regis. I’m not sure how they would be referenced when meeting regigigias but still they should be!
bdsp only has gen 4 and earlier legendaries, why would it have gen 8 legendaries?
@@wynot999 Other remakes in the past have had Pokemon and legendaries from the newest gen at the time, iirc, so it's not unheard of, especially with stuff that's just new postgame and not recreating the old story.
According to their Gen 8 dex policy, they just don't exist! I have only heard of three regis, what are you talking about?
This remake it's exactly in the same universe of Pokemon DP, it's not like HGSS and ORAS that happened in another timelines, so I think it would be really strange

Honestly I like how in newer games they make sure you get every legendary that should be in them but ima be honest if they were gonna use the old transfer park they should’ve made it so you use the front desk to activate what kind of place you enter into and give each legendary their own maze ,puzzle , but at least their own map maybe each time you get to the peak you have to beat the rival or evil team leader or champion etc of that gen before your legendary encounter It just kind of takes away from it when you just go to a room where they just appear and you catch them

it's a shame they wouldn't even have you go to the regis' caves from the platinum event 8(
Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres were also in Platinum (in normal gameplay) but they put them in Ramanas Park anyway
@@UltraAryan10 see that one i honestly understand, since the birds really just roamed around for no specific reason or with any connection to anything besides kanto's professor being in sinnoh _(which i think was a coincidence anyway?)._ so i think relocating them to ramanas park is fine.
but the regis' caves added even a small thing to the world and those areas and it feels cool and exciting having these legendary pokemon be hidden somewhere in the world, especially in different places, and it even added something since they're connected to one of sinnoh's own legendaries and the snowpoint temple, so just sticking them somewhere else with all the other legendaries they didn't feel like sticking elsewhere in sinnoh with none of the uniqueness or adventure of that just feels like such a downgrade to me. especially since they could've amended the fact it was an event-only thing to begin with and give a better way to find their ruins and catch regigigas with them! it just makes me a little sad.
Btw, the mew and jirachi aren’t 1 each per save file, don’t go resetting because they are one each per copy of bd/sp
For shaymin there is actually the surf glitch and it can be shiny. The only ones shiny locked are mew, jirachi, and manaphy

I love the lake theme it's soothing
You can also encounter an Original Form Giratina in the park with the Distortion Slate. You can't catch it but only beat. After the encounter you will find a GraySphere

You have to catch the three Regis first before you unlock the Distortion Slate, and for slates you need Mysterious Shards from digging in the Grand Underground.

I haven't gotten Cresselsa, Heatran, Regigigas or normal Girintina yet tho so idk
Actually when I found Mespirit, I didn't know I could track it down, I just didn't look for it and went to shiny hunt, *and then the lake guardian encounter theme started playing*
I think they miss a great opportunity to expand this game with lengthy quest to get legendaries to add to the stiry and make the game more interesting but hi well

@@rage9667 there’s a certain point where as a fan I have to decide what’s ridiculous. People hate the exp share, yet it’s similar to most other RPG games letting all your characters gain exp simultaneously. Shiny locking legendaries only to give away the shinies later, what’s so wrong with that? Saves you hours of suffering. Really the only things that make a Pokémon game good are the story, the Pokémon themselves, and any gimmick that lets us have fun with our beloved mons, no matter how broken it is. That’s what I believe
@@buhgingo2933 Meh, the problem with exp share is that the game aren't balanced for it so your team is overleveled, that's the main complaint. Most RPGs with similar mechanics do balance for it

They've done, it's played for Shadow Giratina (Origin Forme) catchable in Ramanas Park like gen.1-3 legendaries. I'm disappointed they added a second Giratina to get Origin Forme instead to make a Platinum episode or something like that (similar to Delta Episode in ORAS).
Edit : Since i've written this comment, i realized shadow Giratina isn't catchable, only fight as final boss to get Griseous Orb. Sorry my bad.

for anyone who doesnt know you can actually respawn the box art legendaries.
You have to rematch the Elite 4 to respawn legendary Pokèmon.

Upset about the legendary battle themes at Ramasas park but yknow-
I hate that all the legends in ramanas park dont have their themes
it feels extra silly because the regi trio specifically had a new version of their battle theme in platinum due to an event where you could catch them
i kinda wished they gave us updated/remixed legendary themes for the legends you can catch in Ramanas Park :')

This pretty underwhelming. Even if it’s a DP remakes you couldn’t make a Giratina event. You can just get slates just like that from lady at a park - no quest no nothin. All these legendary Pokémon temples r n the same area ; they don’t have their unique themes & use the same backgrounds in battles. C’mon now

Well its just a remake which only focus on Sinnoh region stuff based on DP only therefore Platinum content might not show up although it would be a cool add on.
I would agree that they got quite lazy, I feel omega ruby and alpha sapphire are the best remakes for now.

Some of them are version exclusives though, but its still stunning how many legendary Pokemon are in this game

@@tobireindl Since you asked, yes all Pokémon are available to catch across the two versions with the exception of Celebi, Deoxys, Shaymin, Darkrai and Arceus.

@@tobireindl No problem. As for the exceptions, Darkrai and Shaymin have their events coded into the game there is no way to access them currently though. Probably will be an event later on. As for Arceus I personally think that it will tue into Legends Arceus in some way and Celebi and Deoxys are a mystery. (Though Celebi was distributed during SwSh so maybe there won't be another one)

I prefer the original azelf, uxie, mesprit battle song. Is there an option in the game to revet game sounds to the original, kinda like game boy sounds in i believe hgss? Or maybe it was platinum?
I think there’s an option to do this after beating the main game by visiting the Game Director’s house in the resort near Lake Valor.

Looks like they removed a lot of the unique legendary locations in this game in favor of that area for spawning them in. Interesting way to get legendaries from other regions, but what a shame.
I think this is a dumb question but for mew and jitachi do you need both copies of let’s go and SwSh or just one from each, for example I got a let’s go game and Sw, would it still work?

Just looking at how the mechanic works it looks like you can just buy as many of the plates as needed until you catch it? Not sure though
I can't be the only one that finds the slate game mechanic is so disappointing. Exploring the map to its fullest extent to encounter all the legendaries is one of my favorite parts about pokemon games. I think that it is lazy on Nintendo's part, that was such a good opportunity to add wayyy more content.

I wish they would’ve had an event like omega ruby and alpha sapphire where are you had a delta episode in those games why couldn’t they make a post event after the Pokémon league in this game like where you can get Giratina in the distortion world. It’s no fun just being handed the legendary‘s it’s much more fun if you can go find them in different areas around the region and at least give Giratina it’s time to shine. Also is there no Darkrai in this? I want there to be a Darkrai.
Darkrai is in a later event
They absolutely nailed the legendaries in ORAS, tbh. They did the following.
-They kept Kyogre and Groudon’s catch rates low and kept them being non-guaranteed, even though both BW/B2W2 and XY had guaranteed legendaries (BDSP did this too).
-They hand you one free Lati, but give access to the other one through Streetpass.
-Rayquaza, although still being guaranteed in the Delta Episode, gave access to Deoxys, a Mythical Pokemon, who was not guaranteed.
-Instead of handing every Legendary Pokemon to you through a minigame or small challenge, they set milestones for each one when on the Latis. For example, you had to complete the Sea Mauville puzzle to get the Johto duo, then have them to get the Legendary Beasts. Or you’d need three Pokemon with max friendship for the Lake Guardians, then have them to access Dialga and Palkia, then have THEM to find Giratina. It was fun and challenging. The Legendaries felt legendary.

If my calculations are right after getting the feather head to the same island before moon (I forgot the name) there’s a house below the one with the sleeping child where there’s a bed go sleep there and then you can get darkrai
In the original game Darkrai was a special event with a house locked on the top right of the city, if I remember rightly. So it’s probably the same for this game. We’ll just have to wait until the event is released.
