- Here is a quick guide on how you can get all gift Pokémon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl for the Nintendo Switch. This includes legendary Pokémon, mythical Pokémon, Mystery Gifts, starters, in-game trades and more.

I highly recommend fighting all opponents in Hearthome Gym as they are the only trainers in the game with a Drifloon (which you need to see for the National Dex). Otherwise, you can only see Drifloon on a Friday next to Floaroma Town (and no, you can't get Drifloon by changing the Switch's date, doing so locks you out of all time-based events for 24 hours)
Don't it work if you change the time to 1 minute until Friday then load into the game before the minute passes? (Pretty sure it'll still lock you out of time events though)
i have a question about time in the game and dont know where to ask
is the morning/day/night time in the game the same as in real life? and at which hour does it swap to the next one?
@@HolyShitNew it's according to your switch clock, it does a smooth and almost unnoticeable transition, not sure what hours counts as dusk/morning/evening/night tho

@@jayare9882 the only way to evolve haunter to Gengar is to trade, in the games, there 1 girl let you trade haunter but it holding an everstone so it didn't evolve:(

I don't know what hurts me more, the fact that my favourite Pokémon, Eevee which has two Gen 4 evolutions is POSTGAME, or the fact they kept the most EVIL Pokémon character ever to exsist, Mindy in the game...
Definitely the Eevee. Leafeon saved my run against Cynthia. Why the hell would they make Eevee post-game? It makes no sense.

I never really trade pokemon, so I could never get those that evolve by trade, I could never wrap my head around why some pokemon only evolve after you trade them
That haunter is pure evil. We’re right to have trauma that will never be clean. Never be clean.
@@firxanza5172 initially it was a mechanic to get you to play with your friends. Eventually it just became a chore to get the Gengar you always wanted gts is the best thing to use, if it still exists.

That Haunter isn't a gift it's a curse

Haunters only evolve when traded and she intentionally gave it a everstone to stop that. If u weren't a big into trading online that was a big slap to the face.
Even if you were into trading online, it was humiliating. Duped by a Pokémon CPU….

@@NrgBuster The remakes were made by Ilca not Game Freak. And it is officially that TPC didn't gave Ilca enough time to complete the game, thats why there is the giant day 1 patch.

I'm really bummed Eevee isn't in the base game. Feels like we were misled by having the Eeveelutions in the trailers.
We weren't misled. Either you have a different way to get them prior to the national dex. Like the Backlot Trophy Garden (I know that in the original games it was national dex locked as well but it's an idea) or they just were showing off popular Pokemon, and assuming we're gonna trade.

just ask someone to trade you an eevee. i joined the discord server and managed to get someone to donate an eevee to me with hidden ability and i'm only on my 3rd gym. i also got a ditto so i can breed the eevee because i want to be the og trainer.

I got Jirachi without knowing that this was a feature if I had a sword and shield save. I was literally so happy, as sword and shield is the only other Pokémon game I have.

Nah I think magmortar will be sufficient enough. Plus helps you with a lot more than that
@@lord_berkut2426 You try to trade a Magmar with a different person to get a magmortar but it doesn't have a magmarizer on it so it doesn't evolve. They rip off their mask to reveal it's actually Mindy.

You can always use Pokemon Home to get one from Sword and Shield
Iirc that was the only way to get an Eevee on OG Diamond & Pearl on DS as well, or if you wanted to try your luck on the Trophy Garden backlot. Platinum you can get an Eevee in the story, as well as backlot.
Fortunately the remakes make this all the easier if you want to move it from Pokémon Home or previous generations.

Thanks to a caring man elsewhere not only did I get my Machamp Pokedex entry, I got Haunter and Gengar too. Note that I only have the third gym badge. I will get all of my Pokedex entries soon!

I remember being a little kid playing Platinum (my first game) and being miserable there was no legitimate method to get Mew, my favorite Pokémon. Here we are over ten years later and they're just handing them out like lollipops.
I don't know if I'm happy or angry that modern children playing the game will never know the agony that was following convoluted fake RUclips tutorials telling you about one specific grass patch that has a level 50 Mew that can only be found after releasing your starter pokemon and naming a Magikarp Gary.
I legit paid over 80 bucks just to purchase Let's Go Pikachu ONLY to have that save data to finally get a Mew without cheating.

You'd have to register all 150 of the Sinnoh Dex Pokémon as seen, so one full playthrough should be enough as long as you fight every trainer.

To get the national you basically have to battle every player in Sinnoh, at least until it's home compatible.
