- The T-54/T-55, one of the most built tanks in history. It has seen many battles across the planet and serving in many countries. Even today, it still serves in some smaller armies with upgrades to keep it going.
Tamiya T-55A, probably on of Tamiya's finest kits. If you like the T-55, then this is the only you'll need as every other falls short in a big way.

I saw this at my local hobby shop (Ultimate Hobbies) and decided to get it the next day, but when I came I saw it was gone. Next time I'll get it when I see it. btw nice model :)

if i ever build a T55 again i will do an east german version.
Mine too, I like this tank quite a bit. I have one of trumpeter's T-54 kits in the works. While not as good as their newer kits, it can still be built up nice with some work.
That is lovely work, especialy the extra detailing. Lovely paint job and weathing. Video compilation was spot on as well, great choice of music, I also realy like the assocaition of the sub assemblies with the instructions, a very nice nice touch. Overall a great model and a build vid that was a pleasure to watch.

I like showing the steps, sometimes I look up videos of kits I'm thinking of buying to see what they look like. If I can help or get some one interested in a kit, then that's great.

Thanks guys, going to keep building. Look forward to the Tamiya T-55 part 2 "Enigma". I got my hands on a Tamiya T-55 Enigma kit as soon as they were released earlier this year.
Oh yes. I wanted this one for a long time, but the price put me off for a while, but I've learned that your paying for quality stuff. Definitely the best T-55 kit and with a little TLC it'll look awesome. I'm thinking of building two or three variants of the T-55 with the Tamiya kit as the base. T-55AMV,Tiran-5 for sure.
Paint is a hard question, everyone has their own likes. I like Tamiya acrylics. Don't forget the acrylic paint thinner. Priming it makes it easier to paint, especially with brush. I use regular rattle can primer. Yeah you're gonna need those tools. Plastic cement (I like the bottle/brush), tweezers, razor/hobby knife, sandpaper,etc. At least the basic stuff. Tamiya kits are real easy to put together. Shouldn't give you too much trouble.

Of course, I used Model Master Acryl Medium Green. Really nice color, going to use it on my T-62. Also want to use it on the up coming T-62BV! Man I love ERA tiles.
Do you remember which GREEN you have use on this model ? looks pretty nice and I am looking for something similar for another Russian AFV... Thanks in Advance !
You never put the snorkel or wooden post on the back.Any reason for that? Great model btw.
Thanks. Your right I never did put the unditching log on. As for the snorkel, it's on the right side of the turret. The long snorkel that goes on the rear of the tank is for the czech version.

How easy was this to build?
Like any Tamiya kit, it's very easy to get together. There are some small details missing that you can easily add yourself to give it a better look.

No problem. This is one good kit, and with some work, you can build various different variants.
