    very helpful, but do you have a video of replacing the other sensor? i have to replace one of my 02 sensors but since i dont know which one is bad i have to do both

      Hello there! I didn't need to replace the Bank 1 sensor 02 on this vehicle (atleast not yet). But if you just follow that pipe the second 02 sensor will be on it. I changed out Bank 1 sensor 1 which is the closest to the motor. The Bank 1 sensor 02 will be just a few more feet down the pipe. I did trans lines on one and you can see the 02 sticking out of the pipe at about ruclips.net/video/m5smtn5Gy58/видео.html 4:43. Its on the far left of screen. That would be the 02 sensor for bank 01 sensor 02.

      its actually visible in a few parts of the video but I didn't have to remove it.

    I Scan my 1998 blazer today and Got code P0135 .bank 1 sensor 1 heater circuit. Is this O2 sensor located upstream on driver side or passenger side? Any help is appreciated.

    • @JustFixinGarage
      @JustFixinGarage  3 года назад +1

      Sensor 1 is upstream before the catalytic converter. As for driver or passenger it’ll be on whatever side has cylinder one . On the 4.3 that would be the drivers side . Just google 98 blazer cylinder order and confirm your motor to see which side cylinder 1 is on .

      @@JustFixinGarage thanks a lot. I will be changing it tomorrow. Hopefully old O2 it's not seized up . My 98 blazer is a 4.3 engine.

    It was a great job putting in that new O2 sensor. But I don't think changing an O2 sensor without testing it is a good idea

    • @JustFixinGarage
      @JustFixinGarage  3 года назад +1

      Hey John ! You are right . I did use my scan tool to look at live data and the sensor was not giving me readings even after I confirmed it was plugged in . Since not everyone had a good scan tool I didn’t want to do a tutorial on that. But in our case we confirmed it was out of spec. After replacement code never same back .

    2005 trailblazer ext ls 4.2 i have a po420 code bank 1.. i changed the cat 3-4 years ago... do you think it could b a bad o2 sensor or the cat is bad again??? Last time my cat was bad i had extreme loss in power and acceleration... i dont have that now its the same as always ??? Any help would b highly appreciated

    • @JustFixinGarage
      @JustFixinGarage  3 года назад +1

      In our case for the bad 02 we felt no performance issues maybe some mpg loss. If you have a scan tool you can check the 02 sensor voltage and it may show if it’s completely failing or not . At the cost of the 02 vs a new cat if you are going on a budget I would suggest the 02 sensor first . Unless your car gas been running very rich I would be surprised the cat would fail so quickly . The p0420 means that both 02s are reading the same values which given a cat is between them it shouldn’t . So it’s either an 02 is malfunctioning or the cat is no longer filtering properly . Again it would take some checking with a scan tool but if you don’t have one and don’t want to pay a diagnosis the 02 is a cheap try .

      @@JustFixinGarage i have a scan tool but not a live data tool. Ive used chevron and valero gasoline in mine cat was replaced not long ago so doubt its that just going to replace both o2 sensors... 173xxx miles on car have had for 5 years .. no loss in performance that i can relate to the old cat going out.. have loss in mpg so hopefully its the o2.. have felt all around manifold to exhaust and no leaks that i can feel or see

      @@NORCALPYRO_ I am sure you would hear a leak as well. The vehicle in this video has over 200k miles and I dont believe they have had to change the CAT yet so unless somehow you got a defective one I think starting with O2 sensors are the best bet. I know it sucks throwing parts at a problem but if the cost for diag is the same as the parts I will take the parts EVERY time. Best of luck Ryan!
