It is remarkable how a foreigner, this charismatically, imparted a feeling of patriotism and hope in Indians more effectively than Indian politicians.

Data visualization can be no more misleading than what this guy did. Look at the graph at 10:02, which shows Income per person of India is very "close" to that of China. However, it is nothing but an illusion. Why? Notice how the guy sets up the horizontal axis. Yes, he uses logarithmic scale!

IN FACT, According to the World Bank, from 2007 to 2013, GDP per capita of India increased from $1069 to $1499. In the same period, GDP per capita of China increased from $2651 to $6807!!! In 2007, China's GDP per capita was already more than TWO times of India's. Six years later, the difference became almost FIVE times!! Catching up with China? At least now, it is only a day dream in your mind......

Btw its Chinese tradition that they cant 'lose their face' in public..the world bank report is based on the figures that the communist govt of China are disclosing..if you have any friends from Peoples republic of china like HK Taiwan etc, ask them how much China cover up all their short comings and make up figures and stats to project an amazing image to the world..classic example is the beijing olympics(google it) ..
I live in HK and visit China often for work..you are comparing per capita income of a country who manupulate figures , a place where 70% of the population have no rights to live..They just exist ..no education, no civilization, no civil right, no freedom,,ban on almost everything that can educate them about the right including social media , fb , google etc..and for instance a street food vendor ripped out the heart of the customer and threw it in the garbage bin as he refused to pay for the noodles he had..the video caught on cctv is viral in Chinese repulic
Just fly with any China based Airlines to any destination in the world in economy class to get a fair idea

BIg Time..Just like Nato Countries like US and Britain..no resources of their own but still leading the world using the colonial practices in the name of World Peace...China is way ahead of us in World politics as they sponsor the whole of Africa and South Asian Countries in the form of aids to build their nation and the other superpowers would rather choose to upset India than China...for a fact ..sob

the west contributed the economic growth both in India and China and it has plans as well to disrupt both countries if they become an obstacle to the west's interests. now, the west is arming China's neighbors and India faces an increase of internal division. I will predict both country will collapse before 2048!

I am speaking from my own experience and not wikipedia. There are Indian-born inventors but most of them are products of the American system. If you are not from India, I suggest you go and spend some time there to see how things are. Wikipedia is not the greatest source of information.

Most of the keralites today can't find jobs and hence go to the middle east. Its time for you guys to adopt a capitalist model in the state govt. eradicating corruption alone wont help, but reducing the military by 40 percent will help India tremendously as 70 percentage of Indias money is spent on the military each year.

    • @8059875
      @8059875 10 лет назад

India's military budget is about 2.5-3% of the GDP. I highly doubt any nation can sustain itself with a military budget of 70%.
Also military expenditure is one thing that India has done very well. India has an offset policy which by agreement forces the company or nation India is buying hardware from to directly invest back into the Indian economy. Further more India usually does not buy hardware in a useable condition. It either is assembled in India or manufactured from scratch in India which creates countless jobs in the defense industries and other supporting industries. And most importantly India only buys hardware under the clause of full technology transfer.

Indians do very well both academically and economically in the USA and the rest of the diaspora. So it seems that the reason that India is taking so long to take off, in my opinion, is because successive Indian governments of the years have not created the environment for the population to exploit their full potential.

I'd like to answer "Exportersindia's" question and say that its not about overtaking someone ! its more about your own identity evolving to a level where others start respecting it ! which is much more important !! All countries races are based on identity. So India henceforth has to decide what it wants to be identified with...the biggest democracy in the world, a diverse country with innumerus cultures, religions and traditions coexisting together, a country which manage's to pullot all of its population out of poverty by lets say 2030, a country with 100% literacy rate, a country which excels in infrastructre in its own unique and innovative ways, a country which is able to provied hope to more than a billion people and a country that becomes a major player in the world !!
I Think its all about the out of the box thinking and open minedness which i believe the young generation of india is very much capable of !! And that they need to realize and re-realize this potential in them and that each contribution and idea no matter how small is going to change the face of this country forever !!
And speaking of US, the country has its own model of the society and how things should be and should be done. They have introduce certain things to the world which is now synonumus to their culture, history and tradition which have been adopted by many other countries and which btw work quite well all around the world. So if you are talking about emulating a model then that's a different topic all together.

It is disappointing to see how impatient people can be???? Please analyse the policies that Modi's Governemnt made for the past 11 months of it coming into power. It has implemented all the good policies which Dr. Manmohan Singh had in paper alone for over a decade. Dr. Manmohan Singh is a good economist and a visionary. However, he was not a good administrator. He failed to implement all the good policies that he was able to formulate on paper for over a decade. On the other hand Modi is able to implement all the good ideas in a magnum opus manner. His new policies, like improved thrust on manufacturing will provide employment to non-professional graduates. The India's service industry did not provide enough jobs for the huge mass of non-professional graduates India had. I think which the UPA should have done atleast 10 years before instead of the non-sense MNREGA. MNREGA only wasted the Government kitty and did good enough only to spoil the agriculture. Also the Congress led UPA had no direction for the Country. All they were able to do was to sustain what already we had.

that is not less...maybe if you have problems there regarding job, you can think of shifting to delhi or bangalore. Most people here first work here in BPO for 6-8 months and thereafter they can get better jobs in companies like HCL. And maybe if you have decent internet available you can look up sites like freelancer.

I will check them out. Oppenheimer was ofcourse not the first to come up with the concept. It was Hahn and Strassmann from Germany who did. Oppenheimer did rediscover the idea in some sense - that is beyond contention. Unfortunately, there is no point in supporting a claim that is without good proof - The problem is that these "technological achievements" from prehistory allow the common man to put his ass and say "We did all this 2000 years back" and not do anything to help the day.

When it's a bad news, some 'Indians' comment like 'it's that one bad part of india' or 'you disgrace Indians' . Like in a video related to elephants in kerala, so many negative comments from north indians. George is right!

Mr VJTI, from his comment, appears to be exactly the kind of person I have a problem with. The comment you replied to was part of long comment string on how we should not just gloat over our great past and sit on our asses. And 'am sure you would agree that science and technology are not just about counting. Misplaced pride and lack of the ability to look to the future - that is what I have a problem with. I would like to see atleast one current indian inventor for everyone who liked this video.

Rajputs are an ethnic group whose varna is Kshatriya. Muslim Rajputs are ethnically Rajput by blood and descent. Only their religion is different. Also, there were various reasons for converting. I won't judge them for that. One of my good friends is a Janjua Rajput from Sialkot, Pakistan; and a devout Muslim as well. So, he was surprised when I told him that the Janjuas under King Jayapala were Hindus who ruled Afghanistan, and fought Mahmud Ghaznavi (a national hero of Pakistan). LOL.
