The only haunted house that ever actually scared me was The Nightmare Factory in Niederwald Texas. It has been closed for years. Probably because Niederwald is a small town in the middle of nowhere and House of Torment opened up in Austin. House of Torment is pretty good... But it still absolutely cannot compare to The Nightmare Factory.
I havent been to a haunted house in over 5 years. A big part of that is probably because of the scariest experience ever! And it had nothing to do with the actual haunted house. My friends and I went to House of Torment and we were having a great time. Then we came to the only part of haunted houses that I really really hate. You have to squeeze through two inflated balloon walls. It's basically like someone took two bounce houses and smushed them together, then made people walk through the tiny space between while the rubbery vinyl of the walls squeezes them from every direction. (shudders) Gah I hate those things! Anyway while going through this giant squeeze tube from hell, my friend's little sister had a seizure. She just kind of froze, her body went rigid, and she was completely unresponsive. After that ambulance ride I just really don't do haunted houses anymore.

You say you're traumatized, but imagine what the fish went through. Poor little guy, probably had PTSD for the rest of his life. I know I would.
when a fish is out of water and all that air is flowing by the gills but no water, it is essentially like something is blow-drying the fishes gills. So the gills dry up and can no longer function properly, which is why they suffocate. That’s why the fish was flopping around on the floor like crazy.

We all knew it was going there, I've worked in a Haunted House before and the only reason I figured he was spitting that fish up was that it was still in high school and he wasn't actually working. There are some strange people there we had one dude [during my experience working at a haunted house] who would come to work and leave in character and he would just walk down the road at 3 in the morning like over a mile from where we worked and would still be in character.
Also, some general advice for visiting haunted houses: Please keep groups 4-5 people, groups smaller/bigger than that are really hard to work with and will ruin the experience, people who act like they don't care are also really hard to work with and you just want them to move on, don't keep standing in the room it's annoying, and please, please, please don't come in drunk/high. I have so many stories about people coming in drunk and high all the time and it was ridiculous we had one guy who basically crawled through like 3 floors because he couldn't support himself

Oh cool! I was in a haunted house for a fundraiser thing for the YMCA, and ours is right next to this old mansion, so it's already pretty scary. We went all out for it, it was really fun! My job was to stand in this closet and flicker a light while staring at people to build up tension for the next room which was a jump scare thing.
