Thank you. But we do understand the words to this song. Before performing, even before starting to rehearse the song, we have the lyrics translated. We fell in love with the lyrics and even fell deeper in love with the melody. We even had the blessing from the arranger, the wonderful Sir Robert Delgado to perform this song in our concert :)
Don't forget Brunei. Sabah (Malaysia) and Tawi-Tawi (Philippines) speak the same dialect. For an Indonesian to sing a tagalog song is within their ability - due to the similar pronunciation of tagalog and bahasa indonesia.....ie pronunciation of nga, mga, nang, ng.
Rough translation of the chorus: Cover me with the wonders of your love, Let it conceal the glimmers that won't last, Guess I'd rather be an unbright star in the sky, If in exchange is the loyalty of your heart. Keep me under the shed of your embrace, Forget the playful luster of success, In your arms tonight, I'm a dark star that won't shine, Resting under the light and warmth of our love.
Terima kasih, maraming salamat, our brethren across the sea. That our two Nations have much in common is a fact I wish my compatriots could see and delight in more.
Wow! I can't believe foreigners are singing Filipino songs this good! After the first video, RUclips keeps sending me other videos and this is the 4th vid from another country. I felt guilty that I failed to appreciate the beauty of our own folk songs and OPM. Most of us are drawn to pop and Hollywood influences. Well, it's no surprise they picked these songs because they hold so much dream, resilience, and love also Filipinos are naturally hopeless romantics. Thank you for giving life to songs that we Filipinos have forgotten. Mabuhay po kayo!
The audience might not understand the meaning of the song that's why they just applaud. But if Infinito Singers perform this in the Philippines, I'm pretty sure that they will have a standing ovation for an excellent work! GOOD JOB GUYS! :)
Jay Lim the audience will understand the song. We are in the new era. You can easily find it in translator and beside some words are the same and meaning. 👍😁👍🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Huh??? Are you sure that is the meaning of the song??? Lol. Maybe you are talking about the movie... The song is all about success is nothing compare to the love of 2 persons... Bituing Walang Ningning means A Star with no bright/shine in English... And there is this lyrics in the song saying (translation) "with you, I am a Star with no shine, hiding in the brightness of our Love"
Drunkard actually you've wrong in so many levels try listening to the original song you can see the lyrics its says that it's better to be a star the does not shine that to lose your love for me
Wow! Salamat Indonesian Singers for singing one of our original Pilipino Songs! Our standing ovation from the Philippines! Mabuhay po kayo Indonesian Infinito Singers! Mabuhay ang Indonesia!
Actually, we were brothers...what separates Filipinos and Indonesians are differences in our language, but our roots, man if you'll read the history, were the same. Look at their height ,physique, skin colour...perfectly the same. Religion matters as they are Muslims and Philippines are mostly Catholics. Malaysians, Indonesians and Filipinos are one family, same forefathers.
This is a UP Madrigal's arrangement of Bituing walang ningning and sung by indonesia's infinito. Also in this event the UP Madz performed Indonesia's 'Laskar Pelangi' which recieved standing ovation from Indonesians.
I swear, if I had not known this was sung by Indonesians, I would have thought they were Filipinos. Such a very warm and touching song sung by this group. They sang it quite beautifully. Mabuhay kayo, Indonesia! - from the Philippines. May ASEAN be united even stronger. :)
The whole world appreciates PHILIPPINE MUSIC which for me is very exhilarating...that only goes to show that our music is universal...they can sing it like their own...thank you WORLD for your appreciation...
we filipinos find singing as way of letting go what inside us... feelings that has been surpress by time and circumstances... music is like a close friend that for awhile takes away the sadness and loneliness....
I'm proud as a Filipino to hear this song from our Indonesian brothers and sisters, thanks for a very pleasant to hear rendition of this beautiful song of Ms Sharon Cuneta,a film actress and a singer in the Philippines!Mabuhay Indonesia!
Wespeak the same language because, indonésiens were among the early settlers here in the Philippines. In short we were original my Indonesians who migrated to the Philippines.
being a part of the same region, which is ASEAN,it is obviously easy for this wonderful indonesian choral to pronounce our language beautifully... you would really think that they are genuinely Filipinos...very good
even if we both belong to one Asian region, the pronunciation of Bahasa is very much different from ours. I have been here in Indonesia for almost 4 years and I can attest to that. Yes, there are some words that are alike but still they are very hard to pronounce. Our simple "ate" (elder sister) sounds funny when they say it.
being part of the same region? they are our descendants and our blood brothers, the very first ones were the taiwanese aboriginies who went southwards, we are all austronesians with over 90%

The arrangement and the voices are all excellent. This is the background music I heard when I attended a baptismal party when the crowd starts to depart , they all finished eating but they are all around the table where the food is served.
I love Indonesia and its people. It is the most beautiful country I have visited, and its people so much like the Filipinos, they are in fact one race. Indah Indonesia!
Yes, I love the beautiful way the Infinito Singers sing. I remember the time I was in Medan and heard the Batak Chorale sing beautiful Indonesian songs. Indah Indonesia!

LogicaILy Insane thank you for your response, I am not good in history though but may I refer to what I have learned way back school days that those indomalay race were the direct descendants of austropolinicians who originally came from African continent by way of land bridges 40-30 thousand years ago to which believe the early ancestors of home sapiens. In addition, those to be believed "austropolinicians" gracing the land of Australia to Polynesia back to Indonesia and Malaysia, as a result of cross races, indomalay were once called and that where our great ancestors descend. During the 12AD to 14Ad, spice trading across Asia were once dominated by Indian merchant along with Chinese traders with their Lenin cloth and others. In relation, due to the Indian Muslim supremacy in trading, they were considered most influential merchant and once ruled the land in honor of their Prince Sri Vijaya where they concentrated their trading somewhere in Mindanao and Visayas thus during that time "visayas" wasn't yet established then. hihi.. I may be wrong with my history but that's what I have thought to be..

Awesome Rendition... Maraming Salamat Infinito Singers...Terima Kasih Indonesia
💗This song really makes me cry, even before when I was 20years younger, if u internalised the words, for me it says... "GOD embrace me with your love, make me just live my life Hiden in ur grace, away from the worldly life (luxury, wealth and popularity) I'm so amazed that u sing it so good, I really love it😍😊 saved and downloaded😊
Terima Kasih banyak Pak Avin. Beautifully sang. and it shows you know the meaning of the song. I am Filipino but lived in Indonesia for 20+ years and i speak bahasa Indo. Semoga Pa Avin Dan choirnya terus sukses dan diberkati.
I really ❤️ the lyrics: Mabuti pa kaya'y maging bituing walang ningning, kung kapalit nito'y walang paglaho mong pagtingin (better be a star without brightness, if in exchange I can have your everlasting love 😘)
Watching this during pandemic away from home, and due to this pandemic, too many thing I realize, I go away to make a living for my family,, but no amout of money can ease the pain I feel away from them. Once the lock down is open, I will go back home and will stay with them, no matter how hard life is back home, the important is were all together.
