As an Eritrean I am very impressed by all the Nigerian people response, even the negative. The older gentleman is way of the mark when he said it’s one of the poorest country in the world. But it’s quite impressive that many knew the value of the Eritrean currency and even its.
I am very disappointed however, no one mentioned, it’s the cycling capital and a cycling mad country in Africa and the world. It’s bigger than any religion:).
An Eritrean was the first black African to wear king if the mountains jersey at the tour.
An Eritrean is the first black African to win bronze at world championship under 23.
An Eritrean is the first black African to win a stage at the Giro Italian.
An Eritrean is the first black African to win at the world 2nd best classic race.
An Eritrean is the first black African to win 3 stages at the Tour de France.
An Eritrean is the first African to win the green jersey at the Tour de France.
      Now you have it :).
      Other facts:
      1. There are no NGO in Eritrea other than the UN development agency.
      2. Eritrea does not accept food aid or any kind of aid.
      3. Eritrea does not or accept any loan from IMF, the world bank etc
      4. Every person in Eritrea, men and women must go and do national service with no exception.
      5. There is no private school, there is special foreign school, everyone gets same education.
      6. Education is free.
      7. Health care is free.
You can go on and on…

ERITREA was known as The Land of Punt (Egyptian: pwnt; alternate Egyptological readings Pwene(t) /puːnt/) was an ancient kingdom known from Ancient Egyptian trade records. It produced and exported gold, aromatic resins, blackwood, ebony, ivory and wild animals. An ancient and historical country which all Africans has to learn about.

Because the leader of Eritrea is a dictator, those who are Protestant or Jehovah's Witnesses are killed or expelled from the country. Even their religion is chosen by their president. As a result, they migrated to Addis Ababa and flooded Ethiopia. They are organized thieves. This is the truth. They are black, but they also despise blacks.
The president asked the Arab leaders that we are not black, we are Arabs, so let them join the Arab League. For more information, google how many nations there are and learn about them. 😅😅😅 Then you will understand why they make me laugh.

Eritrea has always been an independent sovereign country for more than 500 years. It had been colonised by the Ottoman empire for more than 400 years, by Egypt, by Italians for more than 50 years, by the British for 10 years.
In the early 1950s, when all African colonised countries where given their independence, Eritrean's right for independence was denied and forced for federation with Ethiopia where The Ethiopia removed that treaty unlawfully to colonised Eritrea.
Eritrea fought for rightful independence for 30 years of armed struggle with Ethiopia and won it after defeating the Ethiopian army in 1991.
In 1993 Eritrean people held a referendum for independence and 99.8% of the people voted Yes for independence.
For the past 20 years, Eritrean economy, diplomatic relationships and Eritrean integration with the world had been sanctioned attacked and interfered. This led to the hardship road for all Eritrean people and nation as a whole.

As we all know Eritreans played a significant role in the civilisation of Ethiopia in the past times to mention a few: in Aviation where most pilots and instructors were Eritreans (still are the seniors) and out of 11 soccer players 9 of them were Eritreans which qualified and won the final African cup as well as great mechanical and various industry professionals were Eritreans until the two countries separated and the present rulers had their own way to inflict the situation. I am of the 70ties generation who learned so much about Africa from grade school and especially about Nigeria, specifically of the tumultuous Nigerian history of Biafra growing up. Just a small correction: Eritrea does not mean red but is named after the Red Sea because its Eastern border all the way from southern tip of Sudan to the northern tip of Djibouti (formerly French Somaliland) is bound by the Red sea. The reason why the Red Sea is call as such is because it grows a certain plant(Fern) that emits red dye.

there are several problems with Eritrea there’s no water, internet, jobs, law, you can’t say what you want, you have to.l be salient all your life.
In Eritrea, the military is compulsory service for those from 18 to 67 years of age. This is also said to be being raped when someone does it against their will.

Eritrea defeated Ethiopia in 1991 with all the support Ethiopia got from the former Soviet Union. Eritre defeated one of the largest armies in sub-saharan Africa .
After independence, Eritrea built one of the most promising mining industries within a short time.Eritrea is self reliant in food /agriculture . Education upto PHD is free . Health care is free . Even complicated diseases like cancer , diabetes and others are treated for free. Women make up almost half of the work force of the nation . This year's graduates from colleges actually make up above 50% girls. Cycling is the famous sport in Eritrea and we actually won the green jersey at the Tour De France . Alexander Isaq from Newcastle United is born to Eritrean parents . Tifany , Nipsey and others are also among famous Eritreans . AFDB head , a Nigerian , actually visited Eritrea and he has told the world that he is overwhelmed with surprises. Plastics have been abandoned since 1994 and afforestation has been taken by students every summer for one month since 1995.
