    In July 2014, Dale was finally declared legally dead. His date of death was listed as the day of his disappearance. Corning was ordered to pay twenty-seven years' worth of interest on his pension as well as interest on his life insurance proceeds.

      @@thegreatoutdoors9344 Yeah, it ended up coming out that the company was WAY more concerned about the missing platinum than Dale. Their internal memos showed they figured Dale was off on a drunken binge.
      It seemed obvious that he was killed in the robbery. The bad guy had a gun to Dale’s back in the recreation.

      They found the killer, William Earl Talbot II, guilty in June 2019. He was found through a DNA profile generated by a genetic genealogy website, as in there were enough relatives who partook in genetic profiles detectives were able to surmise where in the family tree DNA captured at this crime scene fit into that.

    Dale was obviously in on it. He used the "masked intruder" as a cover, met with him to make it look like a robbery, then once out of sight of cameras, Dale put the mask on and took the platinum (because obviously the robber wouldn't have been skilled in taking it like Dale was.) Then he went off to start a new life. It's messed up but that's what I think happened. He didn't cover up the cameras because it was like a final prideful move but also maybe thought it'd help him look like an alibi. No kidding he didn't take his cigarettes, he could just buy new ones. He left all that stuff because he already had his other life planned out, all to make it look like he was taken. Why would a robber take the guy working at the factory? That's the only thing that doesn't make sense out of this whole thing. No robber would do all that and then take the employee. Maybe they might kill them and leave them somewhere, but he was never found. Sad for his family! You never truly know people I guess.

      The robber could have abducted him because he was worried about being identified. I suspect that the robber was likely either a former or current employee, and Dale may have either recognized his voice or possibly took his mask off in a struggle. Or Dale may simply have tried to get the upper hand on him and was killed as a result of a struggle. Of course, it seems likely if that was the case there would have been blood somewhere in the factory.

      @@thegreatoutdoors9344 I never thought of that but it could have been. Either way I think it was someone who was connected with and familiar with the plant somehow. Random thieves are unlikely to go into a strange and huge plant like that to steal something obscure like platinum. something esoteric to most people, most only know vaguely what it even is.

    🤔🤔Me personally I believe dale kerstettar was in on the robbery the whole time he didn't signal for help when he was in trouble at one point he looks directly into the camera saying "here I am stealing the platinum and there's not a thing anyone can do about it" I even think he's still alive somewhere dale helped the assailant robbed his business period 🤔🤔

    • @joshlight6892
      @joshlight6892 2 года назад +6

      Not likely. First off what good would it do to him to signal to a camera for help? its not like it was being observed on monitors anywhere by a live person. He knew by the time someone saw it he'd be either dead or long gone. And second if he was in on it, why did he and the other man not cover the cameras? He knew they were there. Why would the other man show up in a mask and thus worried about identification if he was in league with Dale? Would it not have made more sense for Dale to simply cover the cameras? Most of the evidence points to him being abducted and that's probably what happened, otherwise he'd have likely come back when the statute of limitations expired. Or at least contacted his family. I think its pretty obvious from the masked man's concealed hand behind Dale's back he had a gun in it.
