    1. Review your big goals for your life, year, season
    2. Plan your week, blocking out your higher-energy time for what matters most. Prioritize what practices keep you productive.
    3. Review what went well last week. Observe what to learn from when you fell short.
    4. Journal your worries (they are parasitic energy-drainers) and ideas.
    5. Learn. It is compounding interest, a great return on investment. Books including audio, podcasts, longer YT vids, all sources of brilliant info. Doesn't do any good to be really skilled in building great roads that lead the wrong way.

    • @fedorpashin
      @fedorpashin 2 года назад +9

It isn't correct and misleading in relation to this video.
      - The first habit is about setting goals for the week ahead based on big goals, not just reviewing them.
      - There is not a word in the second habit about prioritizing practices that keep you productive.
      - The fifth habit is about reading, not learning in general.

    My sunday reset...
    1. 1 hour of cleaning with hubby and kids. Everyone washes their own bedding. One person meal preps, one vacuums, one dusts and one picks up stuff and puts it away. I water my plants and clean my animals bowls and litter boxes. It feels so good to have food prepped and a clean house to start the work week.
    2. 1 hour to write out lesson plans (we homeschool), plan out the work week, journal my thoughts, write down a list of to do and balance my budget.
    3. Spend time reading and spend time with family.
    4. Quick clean out the car and my purse. Staying clean and organized helps so much.
    5. Decide when is the best time that week to make contact with family and friends. I schedule a time to make phone calls so that the rest of the week I can turn my ringer down and truly focus.
    6. Self care. I try to do 1 thing for myself. Bubble bath, paint my nails or whatever. It's my Momma break lol

Good for you. When I was younger and had a body with almost no injuries. I used to love to get up at the crack of dawn and go for a run no matter what the weather was, in a sweatshirt and a pair of running shorts. You can't really run much in sweats, those are for after runs so you don't get sick, not during the run. Even in the winter you are sweating and generating a ton of heat, which has to be expelled even during the winter. This really changes a person's life very quickly. Sadly my running days are gone for good these days. I can still walk though and do a few other things. This is good too.

Simple things like make the bed, clean my place, eat an apple a day, listen to positive videos like this, have a small piece of dark chocolate, and read at least 10 pages a day. Meta-tip to make these tips easier: Find a planner that works well with the way you operate, and use it religiously. I like physical planners, because the physical act of writing in them feels good and sticks in my brain better, but plenty of people swear by digital planners. Regardless of the medium, there are dozens of options to choose from; try experimenting with different features to see what you really value in a good planner, and make that planner your best friend. I like something with a lot of structure to give me places to start from, but others like something more free-form, like a bullet journal or even an entirely blank notebook. Choose whatever will make you more likely to use a planner at all.

Sunday morning I do like every morning! I wake up praising the one who woke me up & watched over me all night long! I make coffee & go on my knees & pray! I get ready for church! After church I feel motivated to tackle the wk! I've been Blessed & Highly Favored! The LORD has done great things for me! I have had to block relatives & others from calling & asking for what GOD had blessed me with! They don't want to do what it takes to get my size blessing, but it's I'm supposed to take care of the world! Ain't happening!!!

These are effective ways to be more productive, once you know how you feel about things. You actually have something in your mind you desire etc. Oftentimes it turns out the thing you thought you wanted brings lots more negative than positive effects into your life and you have to abandon it. Then all the steps you took to achieve it will be in vain. I'm only saying that be mindful and thoughtful when deciding what you want to achieve. Listen to your inner voice and your moral compass.

*THE 80/20 RULE:* _80% of your life results will come from the 20% of the actions you do._
    These 20% (the 5 habits): journalling🖋, reflecting🤔, planning your weeks🗓, reading📚, etc.

    • @73cidalia
      @73cidalia 2 года назад +6

I beg to differ. While useful tools to focus on goals, journaling, reflecting, planning, and reading are not actions that lead to massive results. It’s the actual steps done that achieve results. Believe me, there are plenty of procrastinators journaling, planning, reflecting, and reading but not actually doing.

Wrong. The 80/20 rule is that 80% of return on any one goal / skill being learned comes from 20% time and effort and further the latter 20% of return takes 80% time and effort. Known commonly by a "learning curve" and diminishing returns on time invested for results expected.

I read my bible everyday and it is astonishing how much wisdom, care, and even knowledge that I have now that I spend that critical non negotiable time in it everyday. If there is one Book I recommend, it’s the Bible. It will change your life forever. The fear of the Lord is truly the beginning of knowledge and understanding! It helps me to read other books more effectively too.

Through my 20s and 30s I would be a slug on Saturdays, then race around doing 500 things on Sunday and go to bed exhausted, dreading the upcoming week. One Sunday, the often-heard sermon about keeping Sundays as a day of rest finally sunk in. I immediately switched to getting everything done on Saturdays, and leaving Sundays to actually do as God asks. Rest. I don’t work, I don’t shop or run errands. I only clean what is necessary for the day (dishes). I spend time with family, I watch tv or play games, I practice piano, read, nap, etc. (things exactly like this video suggests). I couldn’t believe the difference it made to my whole week. I may not run into Mondays with enthusiasm, but I don’t start off the week too tired to think of anything but Friday. The energy I build up on Sunday prepares me for the week. It’s almost like God knew what He was talking about! 😉

Both of them have spaces for literally *all* of what is suggested in this video. I already feel, as I've been filling it out, that this is really going to help me in the coming year in a way no other planner I've tried before has. And I'm a planner girl lol. It has taken a year to get myself to even begin my improvement journey. And, of course there are still many bumps in my road, as I started using my energy bursts to get the momentum going. I am aware that to have long term success, I need to get this momentum to turn into consistency. I have been using a set of RUclipsrs to help me in this journey, and i subscribed to The Art of Improvement a long time ago, i just didn't know where to fit this specific type knowledge into my life. I am currently stuck in prioritizing my next steps to make a big decision, i have analysis paralysis and i just want to go back to my project and start all over again, i even forget the point of wanting to start this project. And here i am, this is the reframing i needed to organize my upcoming week and get the ball rolling again. It really is all about keeping a record of your progress and organizing your life into small steps and putting one foot in front of the other. Also knowing how to get out of a rut, which will be inevitable. Thank you Art of Improvement, i hope anybody watching can find a place to take this knowledge for a test drive. The key is to set your long term goals as well as short term goals. Break big goals into precise weekly or even daily tasks that you can take action right away.
    2.plan the upcoming week
This is to make tasks clarified and to make sure you make good use of time instead of wasting it
    3.reviewing the previous week
By this way, you can reflect on yourself on what/who/how made you less productive or more productive. I am thinking to add something/someone that you are grateful for.
    4.journaling
Dump ideas or thought onto papers makes you "clean" the brain and sometimes make you think clearly and inspire new ideas(that's the case for me)
    5.reading
As the old saying “Knowledge is power”, reading is the essential way to gain it. In my case, reading did changed my life throughoutly.
Fortunately I have been doing these five habits already :)

Did I achieve my weekly goals? If not, why? If yes, what went well?
What activities / products / people / actions have contributed to the majority of my results over the past week?
What efforts / activities / products / people have consumed my energy but didn't lead to a lot of results?
What could I have done better in order to be more productive and focused?
What habits have been essential to my happiness, productivity, focus and energy?
What were the blind spots and unforeseen events that happened that I should learn from?

I remember being in this situation when my kids were little, until I discovered audiobooks. Get yourself a pair of wireless headphones, and you can read while preparing your daughter food, driving her places, all sorts of situations. One warning: the headphones make it easy and pleasant to disengage from your family at times when you should probably be leaning in, so give some thought to when you want to use them, and when you want to block out time to focus on interacting with your daughter. Hope this helps!

I got ADHD as well, I find that journaling and writing a plan for each aspect of my life helps a lot. Tracking what I eat, what I do that brings me closer to my goals, having a physical to do lists so I don’t forget, calendars are underrated and so helpful

@@MrSprenkelz I journal, keep a Caregiver journal, 2 daily task personal calendars, and a calendar for appointments only. I write almost everything down, whether I want to or not. But if I get in a rut of mine, NONE of that is helpful at that particular moment.... I'll be the FIRST to admit that I am as stubborn as a mule and as hard headed as they come... These are all good, but I would humbly add prayer, both personal and within a faith community. Many people are hell bent on success, but in the end, have no idea what they really succeeded in doing or being. Prayer brings us outside of ourselves in harmony with a loving creator that gives not just happiness, but meaning.
