All of these looks are exactly what was popular in the late 90’s earth 2000’s, like exactly!!
I have held onto a cropped, wool, double-breasted, boxy, hooded, camel-colored jacket for 15 years hoping it would come back and I'M SO READY for FALL! 🤣
Lol yes!! 🙌🙌❤️❤️
Me too - see my tip above about adding gold buttons to upcycle it!
@@janetebonanno That is a fabulous idea!! Thank you!!
(I google translated this, I hope it's right! ❤)
I didn't say I wasn't still wearing it! I love that coat, and I've been wearing it every year. I'm just happy it's a trend again. I agree with you!
As a shorter woman who is a little chunky 😂, I absolutely LOVE a cropped blazer. It makes my body look so much more balanced, and it doesn’t add volume to my ample hind end. Yep. A must-have. Oh, and I am OBSESSED with cargo pants. I can’t resist them!
Wow I can’t even express how helpful this is! I’ve had my head in the sand having babies and raising small children’s the last couple years. I have no idea what’s fashionable anymore 🤪 thanks for making this!
I am in my early 40s and this is now the 2nd season of having my old high school/college fashion come back. It feels so weird! 😫 Some I love and others I am not a fan of at all (long tunics ugh!!). I’m glad that with age comes confidence and I don’t feel so compelled to keep up with the trends if it’s not a flattering look on me. Loved the video and it’s always interesting to see how things come back but in slightly different ways. I just ordered some similar earrings from J Crew and love them!
I agree! I still can’t get in to some of the trends I wore in high school 🤣
Yes, im not a fan of this year trends. I’m wearing west’s always, it’s classy like blazers, but im over hoodies and cargo pants.
Yes! I see all these trends and feel like I’ve gone through a time warp! High School/college years coming back to me. Lol
I would think what would take a lot of nerve is to wear a trend that didn’t look good on you.
I love my trench coats . Will continue to wear them . I also just added to my collection of long wool coats . Love a nice coat. I think they help to dress up almost every outfit, including jeans
Wore the full skirt in the late 50’s … once was enough. Yep, I’m old. 79!
Personally, I am tired of the oversized, boxy look. I welcome a more fitted, feminine look. Also, crop vs long? Why can’t we have both? Whatever flatters your figure and outfit. Some things I like shorter and others longer. Same with jewelry. Some outfits call for a simple piece and others a more sturdy statement piece. I also never cared for wide legged pants. Unless your taller and slim, I think they make you look dumpy! I buy and style for me and my figure. I know what looks best on me.
I think that’s definitely the end goal - to only wear what looks good on us regardless of what’s out there! Cropped is definitely not going away ❤️
I agree with everything you said 100%!!
You are right on. They look like menswear which I’m def not into. Also those botega earrings yikes
The quite luxury , or old money aesthetic, which you talk many times about, is timeless.. Is not like this fall we have to wear this, or that! A classic is never out of fashion.
Ms Anna,
I am so pleased and grateful that you mention " Thrift stores " (or second hand stores) in your video!
There are gems to be found in those places and oh my! So appropriate now when you think about being
sustainable and consumer-conscious!
Bravo! And...thank you so much!
Tee-hee...a " full " maxi skirts, you are right; lovely for a costume night ;)
I enjoy your " what to wear ", "what you have in your closet-type of clothes " videos for the season! So much!
You help women all over...with your beautiful ideas, researches and...smile!
helene :)
I thrift about 85% of my clothing. Even though I'm 2x I have plenty of great clothes, mostly classic, a few trends, from the thrift. Right now I'm avoiding even going on the hunt because I'm so pleased with what I have . 💖
@@magdlynstrouble2036 bravo!!! :) helene
I’ve always loved cropped blazers. Glad I kept them. I added gold buttons to an off brand cream cropped blazer to upscale it.
Thank you this definitely tied together everything I was trying to figure out for the fall season... For the first time in a long time I feel like putting on something more than sweats and a t-shirt. This pandemic really took a lot out of me I was not in the mood to dress nice!!! Literally you couldn't even go anywhere and wear your clothes because we were all on lockdown...
I’m loving your red lip! With that pretty hair:)
I’m SO here for the sweater dresses and the vests! I’m going back to school shopping this weekend( kindergarten teacher 😊) and have a vest and denim skirt on my list along with a lightweight long wool coat.
Happy Fall shopping everyone 💗😍🍾🥂
Xo 🇨🇦
Long tops: fine if you're 5'8", but not 5'2". The cropped blazers work.
So agree same height ..looks awful on me
That makes sense! ❤️
I have 2 non traditional trench coats that I love.1 is a black & white houndstooth pattern in a denim type material & the other is a brown/tan tiger stripe in traditional trench material. I can’t wait until it cools off to be able to wear them!
I found a really nice trench coat at T J Max yesterday. I wasn't even looking for a coat but it caught my eye. A traditional style that actually fit me. (I am 4'11"). It was lightweight but seems like pretty good quality - especially for only $40.
That’s a great find! ❤️❤️❤️
I got 3 of my trench coats years ago at TJMAXX only for $70+ each. One is a Cole Haan beautiful rose color trench with burgundy accents in all the right places of a trench, one is a Vince Camuto in light tan. I am a big fan of VC, he was the co founder of Nine West and sold it for $900M and he owns the footwear(Nine West, BCBG Maxazria, Jessica Simpson, Jones NY). Another one is a DKNY in beautiful gold color.
The only problem with tjmaxx is they go out fast. I got couple of VC clutches for 60+tax. I got couple of highy sought after Staubs and Le Creuset!
Going to tjmaxx is like visiting your mom😂😅
Great video! I think the full skirt trend is intimidating but i get so inspired when I see KarenBritChick rock one! She makes them seem so wearable.
Love Karen
Love KarenBritChick and most styles are flattering on her tho
Yes she does!😍
She makes everything look good! 😍🙌
Classics I won't wear are loafers, red anything, and navy blazers. I prefer tertiary colors so my trench coat is plum-gray.
I love the two blazer types you mentioned. I have the cropped ones and picking up the longer one with the nipped waist would be cool. Also on the sweater dress, for this hot weather I am seeing sleeveless ones that are knitted/ribbed that we can throw a blazer over when it gets cold. So that’s fun!
I like that! Sweater dress + blazer sounds 😍
Hi Anna!! I'm with u with the low rise jeans comeback it's a no no for me😅 Ty for your channel!!🥰🧡🌸🦋
The red lipstick looks amazing on you!
I love that u have a lot of warm weather styling ! Being from Arizona, r winters consists of sweaters, light jackets….
Yes same! Also, love Arizona! 🌵
Your engagement ring, set in a a ring guard reminds me of my own; a throwback to the 70’s (I married in’75). My engagement ring fits snugly into the brushed gold ring guard; always thought that style so flattering on the hand.
I’m so glad you shared this. I live in MS and it’s hot here usually all the way through October sometimes November. So when everyone is wearing sweaters.. we are in shorts..😂. But this will be great for work ideas. 🙌
Long, structured tops? YEA! Sign me up! Tailored vests? My favorite! I much prefer them to blazers; but who knows, perhaps with the cinched waist blazer I will finally find love!
Lol yes!! 🙌🙌❤️❤️
That red with the nude top/dark denim looks stunning on you, I feel inspired for summer
This was very helpful. Thank you so much.
You look absolutely beautiful today, makeup, lips and luv the hair with a bend. Oh and of course love the styling tips! Thank you Anna!
Oh gosh, I just bought a vintage a-line skirt, not realizing it was trending (thinking I was just getting a vintage look). I need nice stuff for church on Sundays, so it’s worth it to me to invest in dress up stuff.
So anxious for baggy pants to go away. I will wear straight higher waist pants and that is it! I feel dumpy and fat in anything else. Love hoods and chunky big necklaces, never enough pockets. Thankfully I have the confidence to do my own things Thank you for all this inspiration. .
My boyfriend hates the baggy "grandma" pants/jeans. I still wear them cause I'm tired of tight pants all the time and I'm old.
Right. The only people that look good in those pants are tall models. Everyone else looks dumpy
Thank you so much I love this!! I didn’t get the link to the first shirt though that’s so pretty!!!
Brilliant Content! Yes to Hooded layering.
I’m in Tokyo right now, the long skirts/denim are trending now and I see so many people wearing voluminous maxi skirts on the streets. They paired it with tshirts, vest, cropped tops/blouses, short denim jackets and sneakers. They look elegant and effortless for everyday look.
Thanks, Anna! Very helpful and informative video. Love your hair and look, btw. 👍
Love denim on denim, been wearing it for years. I’m not in Canada but close. I agree about the trench coat, love the look but have never had one , sort of. This past year I bought a camel linen trench/duster from Eileen Fisher, no belt, buttons or details of any kind. Love it. Great video. Thanks
Love this, Lynn ❤️❤️
Long tops are so beautiful on taller women because they can cut you off unless you’re wearing heels! I hope the shorter tops and mid to high rise pants don’t go away, on long torsos ( like mine) shorter tops or tucked in gives the illusion of longer legs 😂
I'm one who loves trench coats, both traditional ones and interpretations of ones. Either at the end of last year or at the beginning of this year, I bought Brandon Blackwood's gorgeous trench coat.
As for trench coats, last year I also bought a traditional-colored tan trench coat, but cropped. I wore it over my Lily Silk 100% cashmere turtleneck, added one of my current Free People denim maxi jean skirts (the best), but in a light denim blue color. And I belted the skirt with one of my wide and thick-buckled Gucci belts. I'm one for mixing the old with the new in order to give an outfit some depth, but as long as the old is an evergreen and not something that looks outdated.
As for footwear, it was my Nike Air Jordan 1 Lows. The whole look was comfortable, effortless, and cool looking. I'm in my mid-60s, but have always had fun with fashion and am not one to get stuck in either a fashion or age rut. I wear what I like, but am a stickler for dressing to my body type and size which is usually a U.S. size 8 or 10 and as for height, over five six. I won't wear anything that doesn't fit either my body type, size proportion, or height. And I like my clothes fitted. That's what tailors are for.
Greetings from Los Angeles
Thanks, Anna! I think an issue with trench coats is they do seeeem like a good idea, but for some reason they fit weirdly. I think they way they're structured just makes them hard to fit well. They have layering that makes them bulky and bunchy, and the flap around the end of the sleeve, and the belt WITH buckle and belt loops. All the things. Occasionally they look great. I think usually they just don't. I've had a lightweight black trench for ? 20 years, which I do wear sometimes. But it looks great on my daughter, and not so great on me. Maybe if you do a separate post just on coats and how to get a good fit and style for one's needs, that would be something you could address.
I'm 5'7" and I bought 3 trench coats (all thrifted, one is Lauren), last fall/winter. 3 different colors. I'm obsessed. Maybe it helps to be tallish? I think they're harder for shorter people to wear.
When it comes to trench, please invest in a good brand, good material trench coats. You can find them for 5'3" tall and up. I am slightly over 5'7" and I have 5 trench coats including one faux leather Elie Tahari trench coat.
I love red trench coats, so glad they're coming back!
I ordered one!
If you are on a budget, Walmart has a mock neck ribbed sweater dress (Time and Tru). It is from last year. I think they only have dark green left, but they will probably reissue it. No Boundaries also has a similar sweater dress.
Great video as usual❤ I am 5'7" and have a short torso. Do I tuck my shirts in when wearing a midrise jean?
I like the tan long top with jeans and tan slides on you. Looks really good!
You never disappoint, Anna! Great video!❤
Glad you liked it and thank you! ❤️❤️
Just bought a black waist length vest from nordstrom rack, havent worn yet but seems to go w everything-cant wait to dress it up!
Love ur videos Anna 💓❤️
I absolutely love the ribbed knit johnny collar knits . . . I really do not care about anything else. I am older and do not like cropped anything - too trendy and not worth the $$. Love the longer top options that you presented although I am not really seeing it available . . . may need to buy a denim maxi skirt though. I also love vests - I picked up a black pinstripe one from Amazon! I have old frilly Ralph Lauren shirts that I will wear with it or just a crew neck l/s knit tee.
In Copenhagen in October 2020, I found a fantastic big jewellery shop. I ended up buying a Navajo Indian necklace. A large turquoise set in silver, with a small coral, on a plaited leather cord. Danish it ain't, but it is a treasured memento of a lovely holiday 😊
That sounds like a unique item and one that will always remind you of the trip ❤️
Your presence is so comforting
Came across your video love it,I live in the Bahamas so i find your content most helpful thank you.
I've wanted to replace my wool-mix winter coat for 2/3 years now but found it so difficult to find anything at a reasonable price that isn't 100% polyester.
Last winter I saw one for £400 ($500) in a high end department store....but it was crumpled and full of lint. The absolute cheek to even hang it in the store!
Have you checked charity shops in nicer neighborhoods? One of my favorite pieces is a below the knee tan Lauren wool overcoat I found for $12.99. It just gets softer and nicer to wear every year!
The Jay Leno look cracks me up! He was fashion forward 20 years ago by wearing denim on denim. Who knew? 😂
Big belts are also back in so if you have solid color loose tops you can update the look with a wide corset belt.
I'm 63 and one of my favorite outfits when I was in college was my cargo pants and plaid men's vest.
I'm 68 and was all about that Annie Hall menswear look in the late '70s!
A very wise woman once told me as long as your hair and make up are on point, you can rock anything.
I love to wear the “Canadian Tuxedo “.
I love all of your videos, but you must remember that high-waist pants aren't the same for everyone. I am 5'1" with a very short torso, large chest, and long legs. Mid-rise and even low-rise pants/jeans fit me perfectly. Mid-rise, come right to my belly button, which is the best fit for me. Unfortunately, some high-rise pants almost could work as a bra!!😅
Same
Exactly! So true for us petites.
I’ve kept a lot of pieces I’ve had since the 80s! Some fit, some don’t. I’ve learned over the years to keep favorite pieces. I no longer get rid of all of my “tired” clothing. It all comes back. I can remember being shamed for my “mom jeans”. Im going to wear my Chanel suit jackets with my jeans and vintage 80s Dior jewelry. All from my own closet! I hope people choose to go to thrift stores to find well made stylish clothing. My faves to find are Armani, Donna Karan, Rena Lang and Escada, just to make a few.
Great video as always, Anna! Love the new trends. I'm now keeping my eye out for a vest.
Yes! 🙌 🙌❤️❤️
Yay for fall fashion! ❤ 🧥( cargo pocket pants 👖 and vests are some of my favorite trends )
Yes! 🙌🙌
Isab a couple of my favorite vests from the 90’s. Hope I can wear them again and they still fit!
I love that you discussed second hand. I have bought beautiful luxury clothes second hand. I love the quiet luxury look. Thanks for keeping me stylish
I'm sorry I was never into the cropped top, I am curvy and in my 60s and long tops and high waist jeans are more my style. I may be in my 60s but I don't dress like a grandma, I am quite on trend with fashion.
I love your videos, they are more my style and trends I may be inclined to wear.
Thanks for all the pictures!
Love the red lip! Don't mind the longer tops - as long as they're not tunics. I was in LOFT yesterday and they are still full of skinny jeans/leggings, plus they also brought back the suede leggings from a couple of years ago. They do have straight and boot cut, but the number of skinnies was surprising. Your camel coat is so lush - and you look fantastic in it!
I don't understand the terminology, I guess, because the retailers that I buy from call all tops that hit at the low hip "tunics." I look for tops that are at least 27" long, preferably 29-30" because although I'm short, my waist-to-legbreak area is long. Shorter tops make me look odd, with the top half of my body looking tiny compared to the bottom half. Anyway, what's the difference between a tunic and a long top in your view?
I'm ready for fall!! Cozy, and pumpkin. 😊
Yay! Long tops! Finally!!
Yay! I have some beautiful chunky watches I can wear again!
And this is my year. I LOVE red!
As always Anna you on point, Thanks I enjoy your videos
Love Nordgreen watches they go with everything! ❤
I'm ready for almost all of these trends! I love & own bold jewelry- may need to get a dupe for the Bottega earrings.
Long fitted tops- yeah! Cropped, structured blazers- good for me too.
So many wearable trends this fall that I appreciate. Thank you, Anna❤❤❤
Glad you liked it! ❤️
Thank you for showing out vs in!
Northwest Florida here too. SO ready for some cooler weather.
I'm excited to try sweater vests! I got 2 brand new ones yesterday at the thrift store. ☺️
Yay thrifting!
I am so proud!! You shop(ped) at thrift stores!!! Bravo!!! :) helene
Stay safe if you're in the path! Thinking about you all 💜
LOVE trench coats (I’m tall) HATE, HATE, HATE denim-on-denim. Definite faux-pas for a reason.
I love a beautiful quality cropped wool jacket over a dress❤
Your hair and makeup look awesome!!
Great video as always Anna, thank you so much! Would you be able to tell me where the cinched black blazer (8:27) is from? It's the one you compare to the striped blazer with the red shirt. I have fallen so hard for that blazer, but haven't been able to find out where it's from. Thanks a million from the Netherlands, Talitha
I totally scored last summer on eBay when I won a Burberry Trench coat in pristine condition with the patterned Dickey fully zip lined in side annnnd IT FITS ME PERFECTLY! And it goes all the way down to my low ankles. For a mere $320!! Sadly I live in Texas and can’t wear it as often as I’d like but I don’t regret a thing. I’m keeping it forever. It will be passed down to my tallest daughter 😂❤
Love the sweater vest you’re wearing!
All great looks, very sophisticated ❤
Your hair looks great!!
WOW!!! Your hair is amazing 🎉
So happy to hear low rise jeans are coming back. I look awful in hi rise pants!
Loving the longer tops❤
🙌🙌🙌
Hi Anna! What mm size is your Nordgreen Unika watch?
Greetings from California, and also I have a self conflicts regarding croft Blazer, I live coloring, but I'll style it this year before sent it to thrift it, si I'm watching your Fall ideas.🤟
I was one of these you found trench coats boring. My sister has just given me a lovely red trench coat, because it doesn't fit her. I love it, I am definitely going to wear it this fall.
That’s amazing! The red is so 😍😍😍
Love your Red lipstick !!
I live in NJ… I started going through my closet yesterday.
Perfect timing for me.
Yes! Same! ❤️❤️
Full voluminous Machi skirts look so romantic and freeing for our legs! I'm very petite so that might be too much skirt on me but it's nostalgic and lovely
❤️❤️❤️
Anna!! The vest cardigan from Jcrew, where are your pants from? The brown satiny looking ones??
Because I moved from south Texas to a northern state, I have had so much fun thrifting for quality outerwear- I have a whole closet now of what would have been truly expensive jackets and coats that I picked up for next to nothing❤❤❤
Love this!! ❤️❤️
Yay thrifting! You're my kind of person.
Bravo for thrifting!!! Keep inspiring people atound you and...thank you!!! helene 😃
*around 🤣
Maxi skirts and hoodies - yesssss 😄 !
🙌🙌🙌
Love the boots and bags this year❤❤❤❤
Can you please share the link for the flats you were wearing with the brown hoodie and jeans?
I love the classic look 😍
What is your braclet with the re rectangular stones? Love it!
Love your video! What lipstick are you wearing, beautiful red. I am allergic to wool and cashmere😢 Love the fitted long blazers ❤
It’s a red from bobbi brown but it’s discontinued 😢
Great trend video
