Yours caught me off-guard because it wasn’t just visually appealing but intellectually stimulating at the same time. That pale teal color is my favorite. Now, I can choose pale gray to compliment it. That look is very pretty. In fact, turquoise is my birthstone and favorite color and I wear silver jewelry. Love the art references; very classic.

I like charcoals and blush pink as well as chocolate and blue or warm tone grays with deep browns. As a beginners rule I would suggest the higher the contrast is, the more you should shift the percentage of colour into any direction. Meaning when you create a tonal outfit of all whites and creams it doesn’t matter so much which item of clothing is almond white, cream or off white so in percentage it could be 33,3% of the visible fabric each (trousers, jumper,jacket) but with high contrast outfits like a black and white and red it would look unbalanced. A red silk maxi skirt with a white roll neck and a black blazer is not very balanced. In that case I would go for a more 60% -30 % - 10% combination like a white maxi dress a cropped black jacket and red accessories like shoes, a bag, earrings and lipstick ( your hair colour can also balance out an outfit 😉).
Second Tipp would be to vary between textures in tonal outfits. For example an all blue look could be jeans, a sweater and a Jean jacket, which is fine but all the textures are relatively flat and similar in shine. So to create an more interesting outfit change the sweater for a knit jump (bonus points if it’s a bit fuzzy) and switch out either your trousers for dress pants, a pleated or satin skirt OR keep the jeans and switch the jacket to a leather jacket, blouson or tweed. It doesn’t really matter that much as long as it’s either smoother or rougher in texture than the jumper underneath 🫶
Obviously this doesn’t apply for matching sets or lounge wear and like any fashion rule it’s ment to be broken 😎 but it’s a good starting point and will get less confusing with time 💜 it certainly helped me a lot in the past.

Tertiary colors = new concept for me. Being a dark winter, my wardrobe is mostly in jewel tones that are strong/dark hue, along with white and some gray. Thank you for including a brief discussion of working with our own skin tone’s best hues.
Those white statues were originally painted in many vibrant colors! Some traces can still be found.

I very much like the dark mauve dress with the caramel jacket and burgundy purse.
Wow, color theory AND fashion combined= what’s not to like? However ALL the outfits require a tiny waist. (After 70, this becomes harder to attain despite daily exercise). Great color combinations, terrific style, delivered with insouciant charm!

Tertiary colours ! Never thought of it that way. - And on a side note: that brick colour looks beautiful on you. Also: You are obviously a warm season tpye BUT you can venture out of the warm palette. Like the light grey or the dark blue combination.
The variety of textures in the amzrepo pack is impressive. From smooth leather to textured suede, there's something for everyone.
Look at the colors in nature. Nature does it best! those contrasts and splashes in nature are very interesting to the eye. Like in a sunset over the ocean.. that reflective pinkish-gold-silver in the water against stormy blue, etc....

Ok i had to pause this halfway to comment. I haven’t even gone through the rest of the combination ideas yet and I can already say this is by far the most inventive combining of these kind of colours I have seen. My best colours are warm and muted so I’m going to have an absolute field day playing with this. Thank you!!

Great video. Lots of inspiration . I just started trying out the camel/dusty pink combo and I like it because it flatters my skin tone (actually I think those combos flatter all skin tones) and it’s a warm contrast to our grey and rainy Fall days here on the pacific North coast of Canada. Also, I have a blue winter coat and it seemed like I couldn’t get any outfit to work with it. I hadn’t thought of all tonal blue. What a great idea. 😊

Thank you. Very very useful and aligned with many of things I have learned so far. I am only a stylist hobbyist! The only thing I am confused about is that I think that your warm beiges are on target, but I think your cool beiges are too earthy for my skin tone that needs cool-based colors. I definitely appreciate winter white! But some of those beiges approach loden green or olive drab are beiges that I could not consider to be cool based hues. Maybe you could do more on that. But I will definitely look for your color video because I like the way that you change the tint of the opposite color. Many stylist videos just say choose the opposite color so people are wearing purple let's say and then they choose just the bright yellow -- without realizing that we could actually edit the bright yellow to a more suitable subtle color. So thank you for that!
