There were a ton of set-ups that ended up deleted. Set-ups which led right into a lot of excellently written payoffs. They weren't necessary, but it isn't as though they added all THAT many minutes to the runtime. Once I (recently) saw the unedited version, it made me wish that's how it was shown in the 90's when we saw it on the silver screen.

Linda Hamilton is so brilliant here, she looks hardened and always frowning, the rudest woman on earth in the movie.

T1 and T2 were absolutely the greatest movies ever made, too bad James Cameron and Tim Miller totally ruined the franchise with Dark Fate.
Dark Fate was a complete abortion from the very beginning of the movie, killing off Edward Furlong/John Conner totally destroyed the movie and it just got worse from there.

Dark Fate was the final nail in the coffin for the Terminator franchise. Terminator 3 should have never been made. Terminator Salvation actually has a good starting point for the future war and could have separate itself into its own trilogy. Terminator Genesys was supposed to be the final nail in the coffin but Dark Fate told them to hold its beer. We don't need another Terminator Reboot, we need a trilogy about the future war. These dumbazz producers just don't get it!

Then, like every good thing, someone realized they were onto a good thing and there was a lot of money to be made.
After that, the franchise has sucked.
