Good games and also good recommendations given in the comments section. Another of my 'small box big game' favorites is Beer & Bread, a satisfying Euro for 2P that plays in 30 minutes. Ooh and another 2P is Marabunta.

Great vid. Parks is indeed a nice pick, the solo rules are smooth. The only gripe I have, is that gear seems not the most efficient thing to spend a trail end action on. I always hate getting that as a end year goal option.
I think Monolith Arena (reimplemented Neuroshima Hex) is my favorite strategy game, but I could only call it "small" box because the game takes up little more space than the box it comes out of. Onitama is another fantastic strategy game that comes to mind at a small footprint and big punch.
Yeah, "7 wonders duel: pantheon + agora" is my number 1! A little overwhelming if you're new to the game but definitely the best game to me. Then idk.. number 2 maybe is the "fury of Dracula" and number 3 is a "sub terra + investigation" because of my personal feelings and times i have played these games)
I'll throw out a glowing recommendation for Hive. It's one of my absolute favorite two-player strategy games. Each player has a bunch of hex tiles of different bugs and needs to use them to surround the opponent's queen while protecting their own. The pieces themselves are the board and you spend your turn either adding a new piece or moving and existing piece. Super fun, especially with the mosquito, ladybug, and pillbug expansions added in (also you can customize which expansions you throw in for a lot of variation)
I totally agree and absolutely love Hive as well. It is one of my all time favourite two player games up with Santorini and Land Vs Sea. It has a great feel to it and I also recommend getting the Pillbug and Mosquito Expansion. I will never play without those pieces. :)

yes I recently unearthed Unearth from my game collection and just was reminded about how much I loved the game and the dice and theme. It was one game that I just wanted to play more of. So colourful too!
I'd add Fox in the Forest to that list. Small, easy to learn, but a lot to think about. (Unearth looks really appealing. This video is the first I've heard of it. Thanks!)
Liked and subbed! I like the Vive unearth is giving, I’ve never heard of that and will check it out. I just got King domino this year and it’s quickly becoming a great comfort food. Easy to learn and quick to table, which is always a plus.

There is just a nice balance of thinkyness to the domino drafting and trying to score crowns in your different areas which often is so satisfying. Thanks for sharing your love for the game! Unearth is also really cool. Its by Brotherwise Games. They often have a retro theme that is incorporated into their board games. Sometimes when I gather those coloured cubes, I feel like I'm playing Minecraft. :)

I disagree with PARKS personally...maybe because I usually play with 4 or 5, which takes FOREVER. 2-player may be quicker. Some personal favorites that are quick but have strategy: For Sale, Linko, Draftosaurus, Tiny Towns, Captain Sonar, Between 2 Castles of Mad King Ludwig, to name a few that we've enjoyed

My favorite is Little Town. Tons of player interaction in a quick 30 minute worker placement game.
