3:02 homje they took criticism on usum with everyone saying it’s “overpriced dlc” and so they didn’t make second versions and just made it dlc like everyone wanted when they could’ve easily gone on the greedier route of making a 3rd or 2 more games that are just barely different but they didn’t cause they listened to the fans, and apparently that’s not them hearing the criticism? Also just cause you advertise it as “criticism” doesn’t automatically make it valid. Spamming masuda on his personal account about bidoof not being in isn’t criticism.
“The sheer amount of high quality animations” Yes.... considering their tight deadline, most of the story cutscenes and character animations would’ve been too much for them to make in such a long time so they would count as “high quality animations”
So you genuinely believed that they would make pokmeon games and that they would still keep all the pokemon programmed in? I mean it was eventually going to happen anyway so?
Of course! Blame gamefreak and especially Masuda for a deadline that they didn’t put up and ignore the fact that pokemon is a multi media franchise and delaying the games would mean delaying every other piece of media which would cost a fuck ton of money and would be a horrible decision that could ruin the economy of pokemon. but alas, for some neckbeard out there thinks he’s entitled to the pokemon company losing all that money just because the models stayed the same. As if the current models are flawed? They’re good as they are and there’s no point in making new ones anyways.
I know this is long ago, but the point is they lied about new models compensate for the lack of pokemon(b4 the riot, which they fix it with implying dlc actually). Nobody cares about the model being reused, almost everyone was fine with it. Like, cmon man. By the way, you have no clues how merchandise, other game gross, and even anime filter exist, with too soon finished the development, the less meaning for content, for which people will buy the merchandise. Example is legend of zelda, was it delayed? Yes. Was it gross better? Yes, it lost nothing. If your argument is it is a kid game, the cycle of game is impresses when people are little, if they grow up and find the game is more detailed and keep them impressed, the game will be kept for spreading to other generations if it keep the relevant between generations, how do think some traditional kid game still exist in these day. If you keep the pyramidic format, your business can't grow bigger except for the fluctuations of currency.
