I almost didn't buy a Ser8 Because of all the negative reviews of poor wifi and bluetooth range. I got mine a couple weeks ago and my wireless works well. My access point is in my house and the ser8 is in a detached garage beside my house. So a couple exterior walls to deal with and probably 60 foot or so away. Bluetooth is the same way. I haven't tested it's limits, but a game controller or wireless keyboard 10' away both work perfectly. My bios was version v26 and I updated it to v29. But, both worked the same as far as wifi though. Does make me wonder if some just had bad cards or antennas. I had to mount external antennas on my previous computer for it to have a good connection to the same access point. No complaints with the ser8!
I'm super glad your SER8 is working well. 60ft is pretty good and if you notice anything is off, I'd really like to hear about it. So far my SER8 wifi/bluetooth have been good as well. One of these days I hope someone that does have the luck of getting a unit that doesn't work quite so well can tell us what could have gone wrong.
@@Power3DDesign I purchased a second ser8 for my son. It will be here Sunday. So I'll have a sample size of two, lol. Very happy with my Ser8. The only issue I had with the pc was with the bios. Windows security was warning me to enable secure boot, but secure boot was already enabled. I tried turning it off and booting then back on, ect. It did take flashing the bios to V29 to resolve that. Simple fix though and no other issues.
Congrats ordering a second SER8! Thank you for sharing the unusual error and the fix. Hopefully helps other users out and I will keep an eye on my unit to see if I come across the same problem. Until then, your son is super lucky!
The B series are totally incompatible crap. I wanted to exchange my wifi on the Legion Slim 7 from 2023 to the BE202 and it dind't work either. What is the sense of a standard interface(m2 pcie) but not working on one year old devices.
My intel 97n mini pc came with an intel driver command center. It installed updates, but... It never installed the arc control or newest drivers. I accidentally found this out when checking for specs on my processor and their site said one new update was available. Now my processor has a few more functions.
The Mediatek MT7927 it maybe work, since it works on my amd desktop pc (ryzen 5 7600x zen4) BE200 from Intel is notorious to have problems with amd cpus.
Thanks for that information. I was not expecting the BE200 to completely stop the computer from posting. I'll try to get a MT7927 or similar mediatek soc in the future!

Yeah, these new wifi 7 wireless cards could really use a wider range of support. Hopefully intel gets their act together.
Hi all, how do you find the temps and noise on the ser8, just wondering if an ASRock Deskmini with a Noctua fan would be quieter and cooler. Thanks
Have you tried it on linux (snaller distro with bootable usb)?
Maybe it's the usual windows thing? 🤷

This cpu supports only WiFi 6/6E

Goddamn more monopolistic bullshit from intel
heck that dust filter is just crying out to be magnetic :o
That would be pretty great lol very cool idea. There is plenty of space to keep the magnets away from the mainboard and antennas.
A successful failure!
Lmao I am stealing this for a future video
