I recommended my sister buying one of those Legion systems. It really stood out against the competition and was even one of the cheapest. Her 16GB were also actually dual channel, which is nice.
All of the variants with 16gb of ram that i have looked up are listed as being dual channel. (8+8) So maybe they only use 8gb sticks? Since i guess if they standardized on 8gb sticks that would save money. vs having both 4gb and 8 gb sticks. Even the 16gb version of this setup (Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660 Super) is dual channel. I purchased a legion desktop directly from Lenovo 3 months ago. I have been very satisfied with it. Build quality, part selection, and price where right on point. The one I went with has an I9-10900k, 32gb ram, 2x1tb nvme drives, and a rtx 3070

I bought a Legion with Ryzen 7, 16Gb dual channel and a RTX 3070 and I'm pretty happy about it. The only thing is that with some usb devices I have to use a powered hub because the usb ports on the computer doesn't deliver enough power.
I was a thinkpad fan boy for a long time but after the t430 they started making them so difficult to customise and upgrade I gave up with them. It seems like with the recent legions they might just be heading back to what made them great, hopefully they stay on this path.

My first pc was a lenovo pre-built pc back in mid 2000s. It had an intel dual core processor, 256mb of ram, 256 gb of Hdd and came with windows Xp. Later on, I upgraded the ram to 1gb and added an ati 4850 1gb graphics card. It ran for 10 years, and could've run for more but the poor soul just couldn't handle the newer softwares and sold it for 1/15 of the price. I still have fond memories of me playing skyrim and dragon age in it.
What aboit asus pcs..are they good prebuilts? Should i go for them or this one?.. the one i m looking at right now comes with core i7 with 32 gb rtx ram 3070.
Ive basically given up on GPUs for my Dell 9010 Optiplex since I just got my Gtx1650 OC LP-card(brand new, and for 260 euros, cheap in these crazy days lol) refunded due to working once. Then never again. Been desperately trying to get a gpu that fits my weak Dell PSU for 6+months. Everything is out of stock everywhere and Im not payin 500-600 euros for a gtx 1650 when I can buy a pre-built around that price. Def want a pre-built now, a budget-one. I just wanna game a little bit, then I want to use the GPU for research-purposes, AI-machine learning(Im learning now about that).

I've always wanted to get a LOQ laptop from Lenovo and I've owned a P-51 and I love that thing and I'm afraid to pull the trigger on it but you seem to be the guy that's going to do those things so if you would I would love to see it I'm sure I'm not the only one. Thank you for doing this legion / leg ion pre-built lol.
Just got the mid-tier variation, which has been on sale before the holidays: 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and I am loving it! Does everything you would hope for as a console convert.
I have the legion T5 desktop and yes I ordered the 16gb version but I was a bit sad to find that it came with a single 16 gb stick. Although the specs are way different it's an Intel 10700 with rtx 3070 so maybe it doesn't makes much of a difference. Would really love if you can do a review of the higher end legion desktop towers as well. I honestly think Lenovo is very underrated OEM builder
I bought a Lenovo Legion last year! Been running the 1660 Super but finally ordered a 3070 so will be putting that in when it gets here in the mail!😃 Great PC!
Keep it up my guy, the future is bright. Right now your LTT light, the decision to. Go for that niche was genius, but also offers me who knows better justify myself.
My personal bit of experience with lenovo service has been awesome. I bought their extended warranty package for like 15 bucks on my laptop and that gave me 3 more years of support. I cracked my screen the second day I bought it by closing the lid while an earphone waa on the keyboard and got it replaced for free. (I know!). The whole process was flawless, the engineer came to my house and repaired it for me. Then every year or so my hdd kept failing because of my stupid use and ive gotten 3 replacement for free. They also fixed my webcam not working for free once, and ram stick that was unseated. I also got a laptop power brick replaced for free. And lastly I found my laptop was overheating so I got it cleaned and repasted for them for like 10 dollars. All in all, awesome support. The laptop still works and is my workstation after 5 years of use
Crazy how i still have my first ever pc which started as a prebuilt from NZXT and it came with an i5-9400F an MSI GTX1660ti OC which i still have but upgraded the cpu. 16gigs of RAM 3200Mhz idk remember the mobo but i bought a new Z390, it came with a decent cpu cooler i still use, just a DEEPCOOL gammax 400 and 1tb 665p m.2 ssd and i got it all for under $1,000 it’s so crazy seeing the prices now. I’ve upgraded everything except my RAM, GPU, SSD but i upgraded my PSU, CPU and MOBO so im ready for a new GPU and im gonna turn the old parts into a second pc. Just need to find a 3060ti or 3070 for a decent price. NZXT used to be great with their prebuilds but i luckily got mine like 3 months before the lockdowns.
Lol they dropped the GPU down to a regular 1660 and this thing still costs $1150 USD which is crazy man, i hope my GPU lasts until i can get a new one or ill end up having to buy a used 20 series. I have maybe this year and next year to play new AAA games at frames above 120 and that’ll be at medium/Low setting by then :( im sad
With the GPU shortage I got a Lenovo Tower 7i. Which is a Core i9 10900k 32GB of RAM and a nice 3080. I love it. It gets insanely good thermals! as good as any build short of 100% watercooled. It didn't have the same problem with the memory configuration.
I actually deploy a lot of Lenovo systems in corporate environments, and my son has a "Leg Ion" (😅) laptop. The vantage software is quite lightweight and very useful. Even when re-imaging new Lenovo systems with a custom build, I often put the Vantage software back. It's that useful, with no appreciable strain on day-to-day use.
Vantage is just the "HP Support Asistant" of Lenovo. Both seem reasonably useful and relatively benign. 🤷♂️ I'm genetally fine with both being installed by their respective mfgs.
Hey, so there's a Legion 7i, which seems to overcome some of the shortcomings of the T5, including dual channel ram, and it seems to have even more fans. Now, the main downside is the fact that it's normally $2,000 for the 2070 Super version, but you can sometimes get it on sale for $1,500, which is way more reasonable. So yeah, in conclusion: If you want to further spiral into your journey to brokenness, then you can put it on your list of prebuilts to examine.
I ordered the Lenovo legion 7i in tower which has some promising specs for a pre-built for $2000 packing an i9-11900k, 32gb ddr4, liquid aio + 3 120mm fans, 1tb ssd + 1tb 7200rpm hhd and an rtx 3070 so it'll be interesting to see if the legion series is still going strong.
the fact that Linus makes no effort to review Lenovo is mind blowing. Looks like Lenovo doesnt pay to play with Linus and spends its money on the product.
Regardless of other products, Lenovo definetly put very much effort to the Legion lineup. The lineup has some of the best gaming laptops, great to see the desktop products are decent as well.
Lenovo has been usually good with ThinkPads too. I really wonder why these do these two groups well and then we get superfish on an IdeaPad. But then again Lenovo laptop keyboards are good so all laptops from that got that going for them. :p
I have basically this PC, upgraded to 16GB dual channel RAM though, but I adore the thing, it plays pretty much everything I could ever want to play. It's amazing. I also slapped two more fans up on the top mesh as exhausts to help the CPU exude heat.
Was debating buying one of these a few months ago with a 1660 super in it for 700 dollars. Was a pretty good deal, but I ended up building a pc when I saw the mobo and stuff. Wanted to build anyways.
Amazingly good compare to some of the others you have reviewed Dawid.. regarding Ram I purchased 1 of the Acer nitro gaming pc very cheaply(450 AUD) and it has the i5-9400 8 gig single stick of 2666 ram a 1650 graphics card so a good buy even with the problems it has ,,the windows re install fixed the bloatware issue and I purchase another stick of CL 19 2666 ram and it immediately recognizes it so that was a gamechanger and finally fitted a fan to the rear of the case making for a pretty good alternative and at $450 aussie dollars with another $50 for ram and a few dollars for a fan its now comparable with the rest of the i5-9400 gaming computers around at about half the price. $450 AUD is about $328 US
Bought one of these with a i9-10900K and 3080 (came with GPU support to combat the weight+length!) Dual channel 32gig RAM and air cooler. Its been a blast! Just another thing of note: Lenovo has moved all the CPU and GPU tweak settings to Lenovo Vantage (still not as good as having them in the BIOs but you can still change some settings concerning voltage and stuff there). I was also able to simply opt out of all extra bloatware when I started it for the first time and just had to uninstall mcafee to get rid of it. Been very happy with this system so far!
I bought the T530 with i5 9400F and gtx 1660Ti for my son 2 years ago when 16 series and gen 9 was new. It had a really pathetic cpu cooler and a single exhaust fan so we put a Tx3evo and a 120 intake in the front and it is still rocking. We went for 16 gigs dualchannel already back then. I must say this looks a WAY better, and also has four ram slots.
I bought a Lenovo a year ago. I'm happy with my purchase. At the time, it was the cheapest route to go with GPU prices and availability. Recently, I upgraded my PSU to a Corsair 750.
I bought that Crucial ram and unfortunately it does not clock up to its rated speed. It runs at 2666Mhz. I'll see if I can find a third party kit that would work.

I recommended my sister buying one of those Legion systems. It really stood out against the competition and was even one of the cheapest. Her 16GB were also actually dual channel, which is nice.
how is her legion after 3 years? still great?
@@soon1337 Yup, she was only looking at GPU upgrade lately.
“Leg Ion” God I love this guy.
He just read of the cardboard box :/
lol he cant speak right cause the accent
Dawid, you are quickly becoming one of my favorite content creators, keep up the awesome work you're doing!
The ryzen 7 version of this actually comes with dual channel ram
same with the i7 10700/RTX 1660S
All of the variants with 16gb of ram that i have looked up are listed as being dual channel. (8+8)
So maybe they only use 8gb sticks?
Since i guess if they standardized on 8gb sticks that would save money.
vs having both 4gb and 8 gb sticks.
Even the 16gb version of this setup
(Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1660 Super) is dual channel.
And to be fair i would say that 8gb is
Probably borderline even for a new gaming PC today anyway.
(Even in the budget class)
So even if it was 8gb dual channel you would probably want to upgrade it anyway.
I was thinking of also having a look at the higher end version. They look promising.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff Do it! This was the best oem prebuilt I've seen, and the higher end version is probably the one most people would consider buying, assuming it has a half decent graphics card. Edit: I've just looked at the options, and I really wish you could find the Ryzen 5800 version in stock, and its really too bad everything has a 1660 super gpu at best. If you are feeling extra Spendy, I see a CLX 10900k and a Rtx 3070 for $3000? I still wish the Ryzen 5800/ Rtx 2070 version of the Lenovo could be had.
@@rigatoni144 rtx 1660?
Thanks Dawid for buying these pre-builts and testing it for us!
Haven't even watched the video and I already know its gonna be good
EDIT: It's a good video
😁
I have a similar (same brand) computer. It was bought on sale from Best Buy. It has played every game I have tried super well. I have really been happy with it
I have this one. I really like it! Already upgraded the GPU to a 2070 and it runs awesome especially for my first PC.
I purchased a legion desktop directly from Lenovo 3 months ago. I have been very satisfied with it. Build quality, part selection, and price where right on point. The one I went with has an I9-10900k, 32gb ram, 2x1tb nvme drives, and a rtx 3070
@@dod1721 Same spec here. CPU cooler is super good (same as the one in Dawid’s although mine is the T7 which is bigger than the one shown in the video) and you can option an AIO as well. Temps are VERY stable around 65-70 running Doom Eternal, Halo Infinite, etc at max settings and, in Doom’s case, with Raytracing enabled.
There’s a Legion 5 desktop on Costco with a 10400, 16gb, and 1660 super for only $900. Absolutely insane value for the current market
i got that one a month and a half ago exept it came with 8 gb ram but then i upraded to 32 gb
Bought my Legion T5 back in May (i5 10400F, 2x8GB 2933mhz RAM, RTX 3060) and I've had 0 issues so far. Absolutely loving it
As someone who works retail, I got a kick every time I saw Legion's boxes stacked side by side...
Me almost every day: "Heh... Leg Leg Ion Ion"
Still can’t stick the Ryzen badge on straight though.
Haha!! Yeah, that is pretty annoying.
I was hoping someone was going to mention the jaunty angle of the sticker, reckon that makes the PC much faster
@first Ryzen sticker..."Ryzen" not Intel "Ryzen" You have Intel Derangement Syndrome lol
@POGamer932 the irony considering that everyone is recommending the 10th gen I5s

I love this video, watched it 3 times, did my research with all the other reviews and channels and found this one the most helpful so i did get a lenovo legion and I love it! thank you dawid for the content, keep it up and Merry Christmas!
Lenovo makes pretty great computers and I was surprised how good their gaming desktops were.
listen to the voices again then
Yes but they crash a lot
Even though Gamers Nexus is getting into this, I still say Dawid is the OG of Prebuilt hunting
I love the way they didn’t even line the ryzen sticker up straight 💪🏼
My first pc was a lenovo pre-built pc back in mid 2000s. It had an intel dual core processor, 256mb of ram, 256 gb of Hdd and came with windows Xp. Later on, I upgraded the ram to 1gb and added an ati 4850 1gb graphics card. It ran for 10 years, and could've run for more but the poor soul just couldn't handle the newer softwares and sold it for 1/15 of the price. I still have fond memories of me playing skyrim and dragon age in it.
I'm using my Lenovo prebuilt from 2007 still. It's slow, but reliable. Upgraded it with an SSD a few years ago and it gets the job done.
I’ve swapped out plenty of cooling solutions for customers that has these glued on back plates. Hair dryer works wonders and they pop right off.
Since I have a lenovo legion T5, I can officially say it's a great prebuilt!
Hi is this Computer a better prebuilt than the Dell G5 or the HP Omen 25l or the omen 30l?
What aboit asus pcs..are they good prebuilts? Should i go for them or this one?.. the one i m looking at right now comes with core i7 with 32 gb rtx ram 3070.
I'm surprised this is $20 cheaper than the piece of crap dells going around with 1660 supers.
It's probably cheaper due to less technical support and other Bs warranty business
Wow! That's crazy. Rubitupdad makes an interesting point. However I would pay not to get Dell's technical support. 😂
@@DawidDoesTechStuff lmao great video I'm sure it'll be on gamers Nexus next.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff lol "rubitupdad" :'D im a child
I know this is a little late I just now stumbled across your channel and I'm in love with it Great job bro, but to coincide with this leg ion lol prebuilt gaming PC would you be interested in doing a Lenovo LOQ PRE-BUILT GAMING SYSTEM.
So are we going to call this the lenovo legion winner coolface?
Haha!! Great name.

Ah yes! You and LTT uploaded at the same split second!!!
I have been watching your videos randomly and I have to say you are so so funny you crack me up.
I bought this prebuilt but it's a different variant where it actually had 2 sticks of ram which surprised me when I opened it
Damn gg
I got a version of this with an i7 and it's great. Playing Destiny 2 on it and I'm absolutely delighted. Definitely lots of bloat, but easy to fix.

Excellent review. Thanks for your hard work. Now I know what to recommend to my pleb friends
I found one with 2x ram for a bit more than what you paid, Im probably gonna go buy it tomorrow!! Thank you for the review
Crucial seems to have a really good track record for compatibility, especially with OEM, it’s all I buy honestly.
So crucial pcs are a legit company? Nice. I got ripped off by cyberpower tbh
How much is the price?
@@matmamat9690 my system was $2400 bit was on sale for $2000, and so far it's performed much better than I expected.

the fact that Linus makes no effort to review Lenovo is mind blowing. Looks like Lenovo doesnt pay to play with Linus and spends its money on the product.

@@xDASSLERx so how is the pc? Any overheating, crashing any problems?

Just another thing of note:
Lenovo has moved all the CPU and GPU tweak settings to Lenovo Vantage (still not as good as having them in the BIOs but you can still change some settings concerning voltage and stuff there). I was also able to simply opt out of all extra bloatware when I started it for the first time and just had to uninstall mcafee to get rid of it. Been very happy with this system so far!
I’ve had a Lenovo y700 and a legion y530 and loved both of them.
Ah finally something I can recommend to someone since everything else they want isn’t in stock.
So question what happens to all of these pre-builts
i have the newer version of this PC, with dual channel 16 GB of RAM, and a ryzen 7 5800 non X processor, and it runs great
same, with 3070
@@achmed51 mine has 1660 super
I bought the T530 with i5 9400F and gtx 1660Ti for my son 2 years ago when 16 series and gen 9 was new. It had a really pathetic cpu cooler and a single exhaust fan so we put a Tx3evo and a 120 intake in the front and it is still rocking. We went for 16 gigs dualchannel already back then. I must say this looks a WAY better, and also has four ram slots.
But ya gotta love that single stick of ram in all prebuilts it's like the boss battle in any video game near impossible to beat
why he spells it like "leg-ion"?
Bro, every time you said "Leg-Eye-On" I hit the floor. OMG! LMFAO!
It's just leg-ion. You know, a leg with an electric charge.
You can't look for decent prebuilts if you keep going to see the natural wonders of New Zealand, David!
I bought a Lenovo a year ago. I'm happy with my purchase. At the time, it was the cheapest route to go with GPU prices and availability. Recently, I upgraded my PSU to a Corsair 750.
I got a Leg Ion recently and after a RAM upgrade and a reinstall of Windows I must say that I am quite happy.
i love how he got tired of saying vinerial disease and hes just saying vd now
I sold a few Leg ions in my retail days, they just... sorta semi get it :L even the laptops are not total trash!
does anybody know the expected increase in performance that it'll have when adding 16 gb or ram
