- Monica is still being picked on at the restaurant. Chandler promised Rachel to fix her up with someone from work and the guys at work all suck up to Chandler because they want to go out with Rachel. Monica hires Joey only to fire him again to show the others at the restaurant who the boss is

This scene actually reflects a sad part of reality. Sometimes, if you're too nice, people are going to take advantage of that and walk all over you.
Being too nice isn't the problem as much as not standing up for yourself. You can be nice and not let other people trample over you, these aren't mutually exclusive. The problem is some people are too eager to please and are later disappointed when they find out that you will rarely get in return what you provided to others.

Everyone hates Monica in the later seasons, but really she just grew stronger. And its all thanks to Joey. Love that big teddy bear!

Joey is the bestest of all. Whenever and wherever there is a need of help, he was always the first one to step up. Be it putting Ross's feelings over his when he was so much in love with Rachel (the only time he was in love) or wishing for Chandler's job or even giving a kiss to Phoebe and here helping out Monica. Joey is a sweetheart. Every other one at one point of the show acted selfish, but this guy was all selfless till the end. Chandler is the next one in the list.

I was agreeing with everything you said until you mentioned chandler. Who put his feelings over joeys & kissed his best friend's girlfriend. Gave up smoking then started again refusing to quit when his friends begged him. It's a character (a great one at that) but I'm allowed to slay his character 😂

I agree the Joey was the nicest in the group but I wouldnt include his good deeds with women here. He didnt really care about any of his girlfriends. He went around cheating Kathy and who knows how it would have turned out with Rachel. Also Chandler basically paid all his expenses for 10 years. But he definitely was there for any of his friends more than anybody else in the group.

@@ajsauheric7707 there are some outdoor scenes as well that have laughter in them, live audience can't be there. For the most part you're right, but not all laughter heard is real. Think of it this way, have you seen the bloopers? Sometimes Lisa Kudrow or Courtney Cox would get stuck on one line and just couldn't get it out even after trying 5-6 times. When they do get it right the 7th time, by now the live audience has already heard that joke 6 times and know whats coming. So would they actually laugh the 7th time? Or find the joke funny? Ofcourse not! Hence, comes in the importance of the 'Laugh track'.

Life experience teaches you alot. I went through work place bullying for two years and when I finally got away from the boss from hell it taught me alot. I don't care if I'm liked in fact all the better less idiots I need to waste my breathe on. When I went into my next job this bitch tried to pick on me and actually had the nerve to shout at me in front of people. So I answered back " I don't know what your problem is and I don't care who do you think you're talking to?!?!" Like most bullies when challenged she chickened out of a confrontation and no one ever messed with me again lol

This kind of hit me. I worked in this industry too. Some people are nice, some are total assholes. Sometimes people are nice, sometimes they are really mean. Like the "I'll quit this job" mean. I used to work at this place, just a shitty supermarket job. Everyone was nice at first. Than problems started hitting the roof. The baker was an asshole, the coworker didn't want to work and leave early. Two other co-worker went for a "sick-holiday", so I got told that next week I'm going to be alone, preparing 400kg dough and baking down 3000 piece of pastry.
Sometimes it's just like that.

Mónica had such a sweet personality at the beginning of the series, I feel her personality totally changed by the end of the show. She turned too loud and bossy.
I remember a friend from school he worked extremely hard to became the head pharmacist at a pharmacy local to him. He was bullied by the dispenser who had been working their for a decade. She would get all the others to undermine him. He eventually cracked and got really depressed missing work and almost quitting his profession entirely. There's some really nasty people out there.
