TLDR: Don't go all-in on status damage, power surge damage or shock element damage. Get a roughly equal amount of each of them, because they multiply each other. A mix of different modifiers is king. (also crit damage and crit chance if you are running the corrosion)
However that’s not exactly true, since not because some things are multiplicative with each other means you should get roughly equal amount of each of them. For instance, 2 rolls of ele dmg (1.04) > 1 ele dmg roll + 1 stat dmg roll (1.032)
Thanks for the in-depth explanation. I really like the MP7 cause it’s such a good all-rounder (except against forsaken giant lol). The only other guns I’ve seen outdamage the MP7 is the Doombringer in silos or monoliths, and the MG4 Predator in prime wars
I love this explanation. but i definitely need more. i would love to learn more about mods. how they stack etc. just can't get same numbers than others. only explanation is that my mods attribute sucks.but anyway hope to learn more. and definitely going to sub and like 😇👍 (edit: oh i was sub before already) 😂
dmgDealtCrit = intensity / 2 * (1 + critdmg / 100) * (1 + statusdmg / 100) * (1 + elementaldmg / 100) * (1 + additionaldamage / 100) is the right formula(took it from my bot that calculates it all), the only additive math used in OH is crit dmg + headshot (headhsot + crit = wep dmg * (weakspot / 100) + wep dmg * (critdmg / 100) + wep dmg). Every additional bonus damage with same name(e.g from your vid both craddles gives power surge dmg bonus so its same) are just summing with each other(20+25) and then being added in a formula(first one) to calculate the damage.
Not perfect but I think it’s by design so you need to make at least 2 main builds. A lot of enemies that immune to elemental dmg have a clear and big weak spot, while enemies that don’t have a weak spot or hard to land aren’t immune to elemental damage. I know some weak spot build can bypass that but they seem to be out scaled by elemental builds in those cases.
So for now total immune to elemental/status has boss in EX aka traffic light and Forsaken Giant aka Cry baby, also Hound has some sort of immune/reduced dmg to Frost, and Treant has also some sort of immune/reduced dmg to to Power Surge.
okay, now i know what you mean 😂 i was playing Forsaken giant and it was so bad 😂😂 i love my surge build. but i have counter this problem few times... but good thing i have desert eagle jaw build saved so i can quick swap. so now i need to keep both with me all the time.
1.5 because deviation gives 50% buff against deviant, which methematically is equal to 1.5 of a multiplier. Pretty much yeah almost each multiplier is multiplicative w each other
I said for the most part in the video because the only other additive source is the power surge damage bonus in your cradle, which really didn’t matter because if u run power surge you’ll always run those two cradles anyway :P. For power surge builds, only additive things you’ll need to look out for will be between crit damage and weakspot dmg from everything I’ve tested
Getting general buffs, for instance, status dmg here, is better than specific buffs (dmg vs great ones), are better than specific buffs because they’ll also buff your dmg against other type of enemies
Bro you really gotta do Part 2 and a tl;dr for this. Jumping from A to B to C calculations is giving me an aneurysm. What I really care to know is this ? In terms of priority what are the damage modifiers we should be focusing on (e.g., Element > status > weapon > crit damage etc.)? and secondly, for mp7 surge build for example, should we be stacking lone wolf or shelterer 4 piece ? that's it lol.
@@EsotericWolf lol, that's exactly my build! The important lesson from all the math is that you want to spread out your buffs between all relevant damage modifiers. @Ramschat I'm actually running that as well lol that makes sense, tho! Thank you! I was trying to make my crit rate a little higher. I need to farm more mods!

@@billkoch9065 the reason would be that the corrosion’s power surge can also crit whereas for your scar, it can’t . do one for crit dmg vs weak spot vs weapon dmg
Crt dmg ADDS to weakspot and Weapon Dmg multiplies both.
