I also love this piece which I learned when I was a 15 year old boy. Now I am much older and thus I have decided to play and publish it on my channel. But I also heard your very nice interpreation here on RUclips and I must say that your interpreation is much better than mine. On the one hand due to better hardware (piano) and on the other hand your skills :-)

    Hi, Lang Lang/
Loved listening to the story and the music, I had an entirely different impression of it's origins ,
My dear father who passes away near 40 years ago gave me a love for pianos and other stringed instruments, there was nothing with a string that he couldn't play, but he was too impatient to teach his less musically talented sons, but it;s great that you pass on your skills.
BTW, I have listened to a band on YT who sing and play "A maiden's prayer" " The Whitetop Mountain Band"
and identify it as Appalachian in origin..
    Maybe it just travels well!!
    Here's a link to it, ruclips.net/video/Mg1QHabXCZo/видео.html
    Sweet strings and female voices.!!!
