The hunting shotgun is my favorite by far. I'm a minimalist and I enjoy the simpler stuff way more than the fancier things. On top of that I like to limit myself, which goes in accordance to my minimalist mindset I guess, when playing games to either make the experience more interesting or challenging or to not have to worry about more than I want to or both.

    My favorite shotguns by game:
SoC: The Combat Chaser for its unique properties.
CS: the TOZ double barrel hunting shotgun for its reliability and the coolness of the over-under design.
CoP: the Eliminator for its high capacity and ability to mount a close combat scope.
Shotguns are my least used guns in the Stalker base games because they are so close combat focused. I find shotguns more useful in various Stalker mods, like Misery, OGSE, and Anomaly.

Believe it or not, it's the Hunting Shotgun that's my favorite! Sure, it's just two barrels, but even without upgrades, it is stupidly accurate, with a very tight spread, and can pick off a mutant at freaking assault rifle range. *With buckshot*
Also I love the over and under break open barrel design. Speaking of which, the fact that it's not a tube gun or magazine-fed means that it's the fastest shotgun to swap ammunition types with, making it highly versatile!
PS: I just realized that you have like 20k subs, and I remember a time you were barely over a few thousand, wow, you made strides! Congrats!

Aps, VSK-94, RPK-74, AEK-919, PP-19 bison, M16, MAC-10, P90 were cut from Stalker. Most of the weapons were cut at the designer docks stagе Due to the lack of textures and photos for weapons, as well as due to the inconsistency with the atmosphere of the game.

The BM-16 used to have a uncut version, but was cut because it overlapped with the ToZ-34, which was ironically also cut from SoC.
It being called the hunting rifle for the English translation in CS is also strange because in other translations and in some documentation it should be called TOST-34, giving it a proper fictional in-universe name.

"12 gauge x70mm" is a confusing designation due to its mixed nomenclature. Full metric for standard 12-gauge 2.75-in. shells would "18.5x70mm." 12-gauge 3-in. Magnum would be "18.5x76mm." 12-gauge 3.5-in. Super Magnum would be "18.5x89mm"
1:24 Slugs are misrepresented in the core games as being weak and worthless. IRL, they'd be more effective against mutants than buckshot. And even if they fail to penetrate armor, the wearer will still feel like they've been hit by a truck.
    2:03 Good technique.
    2:17 Bad technique.
2:16 16-gauge (16.8mm) was always well-liked here in the US. Packs most of the power and payload of a 12 (18.5mm) but with recoil more comparable to a 20 (15.6mm). Some old-timers even say, "Twenty is plenty." I read somewhere that a 20-gauge has roughly three times the "knockdown power" (if there is such a thing) as a .44 Magnum! And a 12-gauge has about 25% more "punch" than a 20.
2:28 Absolutely awful "aiming!" Why'd they do that?! Why are the muzzles tilted up?! ShoC's sawed-off wasn't like that! It was almost right! Only Lost Alpha did it better (almost the same as ShoC except you aim exactly straight down the rib). Of course, it would help if whatever gopnik Bubba trimmed the barrels took the time to drill and tap a bead sight onto the end of the rib, but I guess that would be like going to McDonald's expecting pretzel-crusted walleye with capers.
    Note: See also [ 6:58 ].
    2:53 aka "Grandfathers Gun" ruclips.net/video/U5DAXwF98XM/видео.html
3:56 It's actually based on the Maverick 88 (the "budget" version of the Mossberg 500), but Duke Nukem uses a Winchester 1300, so that makes those two models even. Right? Anyway, the Chaser/Maverick is great in ShoC and Lost Alpha. ruclips.net/video/AW0m1tXYKBk/видео.html
Note: One aesthetic detail that sets the Winchester 1300 apart from other "trombone guns" is the unique angular notch at the back of the receiver where the grip/stock attaches.
5:05 Six rounds is correct if using standard 2.75" shells, but that's the total capacity (five in the tube plus one in the chamber). Proper way to use a fixed-tube gun for combat or D-FENS is to do a "combat load" which starts with a chamber-load. This is depicted in Ashes 2063 and Killing Floor 2. Various techniques exist, the but one recommended by pros is to use your support hand (regardless of hand dominance or eye dominance or which side the ejection port is on). Bottom-ejectors can be combat-loaded, but it's done differently. You load one shell, cycle the action, then load the rest. In most video games, especially FPS games, the reload animation usually involves cycling the last round into the chamber, whereas proper technique dictates that you need to get the first round into the chamber as soon and as quickly as possible to stay in the fight.
Note: Notice how the Zone's Chaser has rifle sights. These are a huge step up from a 8451C-817CH 806-574ND4RD 834D 516H7 (which is a step up from no sight at all). But who puts a stockless pistol grip on a shotgun that has rifle sights?! Must be the same gopnik Bubba who neglects to drill and tap bead sights onto all those double-barrel shotguns after trimming the barrels.
5:50 Giving it the capacity you'd get if loading 3" magnums. Five total (four in the tube plus one in the chamber). Also, shotguns don't use bullets. Slugs are "sort of" bullets, but different. And the difference is hard to quantify. But then there are pistol slugs which totally ARE bullets, so who comes up with the nomenclature and the definitions and whatnot?!
5:54 To get a total capacity of seven or more, you'd have to use mini-shells. That can be done, and it'll hold more than that, but it requires a conversion kit.
10:22 In the core games, I get the most use out of the Chaser/Maverick. I love ShoC's depiction of the sawed-off TOZ-66. Best and more realistic portrayal of a "rabbit-ear" sidelock in any video game ever, only outdone by Lost Alpha (but not Anomaly which depicts it being cocked using dumb technique). Proper technique is to thumb the hammers back with the thumb, not palm them back with the palm.
And just so the SPAS-12 doesn't feel left out: ruclips.net/video/nuZpTi4xBAM/видео.html
