    Thanks for making the video. It would have been much better to get close up shots of the work being done instead of shooting from 6 feet away. I really couldn't see anything.

      Thanks for your comment. When doing it all myself it’s hard to know exactly how it will turn out. And I can’t get the dynamic shots like those with a team. Thanks for your feedback though.

    Hi, how about if you adjust the chain, is there no issue at all?
    Plan to get this for my cbr650r
    Thanks!

      No issue with adjusting the chain. Process is identical. Thanks for your comment.

      UrAvgRider But why!
      I just send a message with them and told me is not possible to adjust the chain when the spools is in use :-(

      UrAvgRider Hi,
      yes you can adjust the chain as normal...but not when supporting the bike on the cotton reels!ç
      regards

      Yeah, I didn’t get that you meant with it on the stand from your first comment. With it on the stand it changes the stance enough that the tension of the chain would be slightly different.

      UrAvgRider so is not possible to adjust the chain? When spools is on stand?

    hi I'm kev from the uk
    I am looking to put theses on my cb500f 2023 but am i right in understanding that if i use them, i can't adjust the chain slack etc? i thought the idea was so you could put it on paddock stand and sort the chain out..
    otherwise how can i adjust the chain please 🤔
    thanks in advance
    Kev

      Hey, Kev. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I just adjusted my motorcycle chain. According to the manual, it states to put the bike on the side stand. (I should have just made a quick video). With the bike on level ground and on the side stand, I loosened the rear axle. As for measuring chain slack, that’s why I picked up the Chain Monkey (see video link below). I tightened the chain till snug, measured the adjustment and did the opposite side the same. Then I removed the Chain Monkey and tightened the axle nuts to spec.

      Thanks for the reply @@UrAvgRider,
      yes i have the monkey gear thanks and i have the paddock stand which goes onto the swing arm, so i was hoping to put the cotton on just to make it a lot easier and have little protection at the same time.
      The reason i brought the paddock stand was because i was under the impression that i couldn't use the side stand to do the chain tension because you need to move the chain around to find the slack on the chain according to videos on utube showing a newbie like myself how to do it 🤭
      So am i missing something 😄thanks once again for your feed back..
      kind regards
      Kev

      @kgba17580 You’re not missing anything. For our bikes, the spools are an add-on. I strictly use my paddock stands for storage or any other work that doesn’t require the rear axle to be loosened. Thanks again for your comment.

    Hi. What was the torque spec for the axle?

    • @UrAvgRider
      @UrAvgRider  4 года назад +4

      According to my manual it should be 72 lb-ft (98 Nm).

      @@UrAvgRider is this the same for 2021 Cb650r? the manual doesn't state that anymore

      According to rg-racing.com, the same item that fits my CB650F will fit your CB650R. Thanks for your comment.

      @@UrAvgRider oh my mistake for not mentioning The torque spec. I am just wondering if the torque is the same on the axle (72 lb.ft)

    • @UrAvgRider
      @UrAvgRider  3 года назад +1

      I found the 2021 manual online and didn’t see it in there either. I suspect 72 lb-ft would be the same. I suspect it’s mostly the same rear swingarm as well as my bike. A quick call to your local Honda dealer and they should be able to answer that definitively. Thanks again for your comment.

    They are RUBBISH you cannot adjust the chain or take the wheel out. Not much use unless you just want to store the bike on stand. BeingMe Micky

    • @UrAvgRider
      @UrAvgRider  3 года назад

      Personally, the biggest benefit for me is cleaning the chain. That’s why I bought it. But having a bike in the stand for winter storage is also a huge bonus. I’ve never been so confident the bike wouldn’t tip over if bumped.

      @@UrAvgRider exactly that. chain lube and clean but most important protection in case of dropping the bike just like i did....unfortunately i didnt have those on mine 😅
