      What she means is, she used to do certain things only when she is alone, such as reading a book. So she would not read a book around friends or family. So alone time meant reading a book for example. But now she knows she can be with her husband and do the things she used to do alone, such as reading a book.

      Trust me.. I'm married and it's so possible to have alone time while being around someone. It's just the fact that you can do what you want to do without being bothered and your spouse is doing what he or she wants to do without having to do the same thing together if that make sense.. basically you can both be around each other while not being underneath each other all the time.. it's hard to explain but I totally understand what she's saying. If I wasn't married, I'd probably be confused too lol 😂

    I think "me time" is different for every person and every relationship. Whatever amount of time is fine as long as both people are comfortable.
    While I agree your partner should want you to take care of yourself... the amount of time should be realistic. If one person is gone all weekend, every week (my friends husband does that) and the other person feels like they never see the other, that's a problem. You can't just say it's me time to get out of the nitty gritty of a relationship.

    Alone time is essential for everyone whether you have a significant other or you a single. Take time to just be SELFISH and do whatever you want to do. Especially in relationships being attacked at the hip and never having time to yourself to suppress is not healthy at all.

  • @chilesheloved
    @chilesheloved 5 лет назад +8

    Don't isolate yourself. There are people who have been through what you might be facing right now and they overcame it. Don't push people away, surround yourself with people who are spiritually mature and get the help that you need. Isolation when you are in pain and don't know if there's a way out is dangerous and that's why we have suicide cases. Listen, there's nothing that you can be facing that God is not able to solve for with God nothing is impossible. Hold on. Jesus loves you.

    Married 10 years and the only way to be happily married is to have your “me” time. For both husband and wife. You should have hobbies or other interests. You need to have self self awareness and explore yourself through every phase and journey you go through. This allows you to love yourself then being able to love your partner and having a great union/partnership.

    If a newly married couple wants to spend too much time away from one another that is a bad sign. But wanting to spend a little time away just to rejuvenate yourself that is a good thing. Being able to spend some time doing your own thing is a good thing and it helps bring people closer. There are people who enjoy spending every waking moment with their spouse and there are some that do not.

    Also you can have me time and be home together. Ladies if you wanna try new makeup looks, or organize your closet, try a new recipe, or read a book while your man plays video games or whatever he likes to do..this can still be me time too! Me time doesn’t always have to be you or him leaving each other to go somewhere else.

    Isn't "Me time" time alone with yourself for rejuvenation and self-reflection. I NEED time away from my spouse in kids. Not just in the same room, where they do that at? (Oh the Houghton house, I guess?) I will take trips with my friends or myself, it is imperative to remember before you were and "Us" you were a "Me". Adrienne's co-dependency makes me very concerend.
