I couldnt buy your board i mounted mine, it requieres a hight level technique to solder but after 2 fails and a lot of burns on my hand i was able to solder it, I May have to say that i printed the pcb in 1.6mm and was really difficult to solder the charging port
Hi they are available in my ebay show www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265787981850?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=__-ZCP62Qwe&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=-__ZCP62Qwe&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@facelesstech Thanks for replying :) my order for this USB C port came in today. Before I take apart my DSi, I wanted to ask if the part of the shell I need to remove similar to the DSi XL?
Does this support USB C to USB C? There's a similar board for the DS Lite by rorosaurus, and that one says it's compatible with that, and won't be overloaded by fast chargers. Is it the same here or do you need to use USB A to USB?
Does this work with the original battery or do you need a different one? I'm thinking of buying a new battery anyway for a broken DSi that I picked up because might as well if I'm refurbishing it. Great video btw, thank you!
Yeah here's a link www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265879096711?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=__-ZCP62Qwe&sssrc=2524149&ssuid=-__ZCP62Qwe&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Thanks. This mod here will come in handy. Very much indeed. Especially for older consoles like these.
Oh damn I bought your DS Lite connector on eBay to Australia. Can’t wait to get it, didn’t know you had a YT channel. Subscribed :D

Does the board adjust the voltage from the 5V output from the usb-c cable to the 4.6V the dsi is expecting? Not sure if it matters, but thanks!
No it doesn't, as far as I've seen the dsi can handle the small extra voltage. It's a good point to bring up tho.
I measured the Volts and the Nintendo charger will give you 5 V instead of the advertised 4.6 V, double checked using US and Japan samples.
Where can I get one of these usb c ports with pcb?

How thick should the board be?? 1.6mm?
@@sonic91131 0.6mm is what I normally order
Uh where can i find those usb cs? link unavailable
@@hakimdurand8427 here's one, need to update the links facelesstech.etsy.com/listing/1301497895
Is it possible to do this AND keep the old port? Thanks
I've seen people put the usb c port where the wrist strap hole is but not sure how you would mount it tho
@@facelesstech Thanks for replying :) my order for this USB C port came in today. Before I take apart my DSi, I wanted to ask if the part of the shell I need to remove similar to the DSi XL?
@@andyc7777 yeah it should be, just need to remove enough to close the shell.

Hi, yeah it supports usb c to usb c and usb c PD charging.

@@Nigel5uk no it works with the original battery. It doesn't change anything about the way it charges, just the port.
Do i have to use the same usb c pcb or can i use any? Thanks
Yeah need that one or it won't fit or line up with the old port. You might be able to put a USB C breakout board where the lanyard hole is.
do you have a new link on where ti get one?
Yeah here's a link www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265879096711?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=__-ZCP62Qwe&sssrc=2524149&ssuid=-__ZCP62Qwe&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Do you know anyone who could install it
Not sure who to ask to be honest
do these make your DSi charge faster???
No, they will just charge at the same speed as the original charger
U need to zoom in next time
