As someone that watched both 7DS and OP, Best right hand Between Zoro and Ban is Zoro. Although I would say as of now Ban has risked way more to save his captain. He died again and again for over 10,000 years and risked his entirety just to save his captains life almost losing his humanity in the process. Gave up his true love in order to save Meliodas and got atomised in the process. If we look at just feats Ban would win, but Zoro had proved time and time again that he would give up his dream and his life for his captain to achieve his. However Ban has tried to kill his captain on plenty of occasions to achieve his goal before he finally resolved himself to help him properly. On that reason alone I would say Zoro is a better right hand since he would never hurt his captain intentionally and would be the first to lay his life down for him.
What I like about Zoro is that he is honest and smart enough to call out or question Luffy's actions. He'll still follow Luffy through hell and back, but he's not a blind yes man.

Ban literally went to purgatory, which is somehow worse than hell, to save meliodas. Ban deserves acknowledgement.
Zoro is a man of respect that grew in to something we never saw coming. Zoro wasn't really thrilled with Luffy at the start and now look at him. He will die for his Captain. He wasn't about to do that for sure at any time before Arlong and it really sunk in during Alabaster. After that History in the making.
Ban sat in literal hell for 10,000 years just to try and save meliodas knowing he might be trapped there forever and he had the choice to stay with his lover but chose the help his friend almost losing his humanity trying to save him/help him keep his girl then fought the demon hind with him to try and get him back in his body. He then lost his immortality and went to go fight the demon king by himself while in meliodas body and even tried the fight the 10 commandments knowing he couldn't win just to try and save him again.
Zoro still wins, but tbf Ban thought Meliodas served the demon king(and his worries were NOT unfounded.) Not to mention how he services in purgatory experiencing ENDLESS torture to save Meli.

Zoro wins, but ban is a closer second. Imagine you just found out your best friend is the a demon (people who killed your girl) and kept it from everyone, then you are told of a way to bring her back. Afterwards, he leaves because he feels bad despite meliodas telling him he would help him find another way. They remained best friends with each other's backs. Ban literally went to purgatory, which is somehow worse than hell, to save meliodas. Ban deserves acknowledgement.
Zoro is a man of respect that grew in to something we never saw coming. Zoro wasn't really thrilled with Luffy at the start and now look at him. He will die for his Captain. He wasn't about to do that for sure at any time before Arlong and it really sunk in during Alabaster. After that History in the making.
Ban sat in literal hell for 10,000 years just to try and save meliodas knowing he might be trapped there forever and he had the choice to stay with his lover but chose the help his friend almost losing his humanity trying to save him/help him keep his girl then fought the demon hind with him to try and get him back in his body. He then lost his immortality and went to go fight the demon king by himself while in meliodas body and even tried the fight the 10 commandments knowing he couldn't win just to try and save him again.

Zoro still wins, but tbf Ban thought Meliodas served the demon king(and his worries were NOT unfounded.) Not to mention how he services in purgatory experiencing ENDLESS torture to save Meli.
