Austin would be a great candidate for expansion. It is a great football town (thanks to UT). one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, and a great music scene. If Austin had a team I would be a fan in a heartbeat. the country
They'd pretty much need to add 4 teams in their next expansion to keep divisions from being ridiculous. 6 6-team divisions would work, even if it'd be awkward. Far better than unequal divisions though.
Yeah it would have to be like 8 teams, 4 esch For the AFC and NFC creating a division for each to balance everything out this would be the most realistic scenario. Or add 2 teams and create a 3 team division but seeing way more divisions
This sounds crazy but I'd add 8 - a European division say with Amsterdam, Munich, London and Barcelona then an expansion division with say Toronto, Mexico City, San Diego and St Louis (or Austin or wherever)
Most divisions are already a little awkward if you look at locations. The North's are the only 2 off the top of my head that don't have anything that awkward
They need to realign the divisions strictly on regional geography first. NFL should NOT be adding teams right now. Old divisional games would be for bragging rights and playoff games would be wild. New divisional opponents would build better rivalries because the matchups would be closer cities going head to head twice a year. I believe it would save on traveling expenses and also generate more revenue and profit for all teams.
Since I'm Q-tined, I'm gonna realign the divisions: AFC West: Seahawks, Broncos, Niners, Chargers NFC West: Cardinals, Raiders, Rams, Cowboys NFC South: Texans, Falcons, Saints, Titans AFC South: Phins, Jags, Buccs, Panthers NFC North: Vikings, Chiefs, Bears, Packers AFC North: Lions, Colts, Bengals, Browns AFC East: Steelers, Manders, Ravens, Eagles NFC East: Bills, Pats, New York Giants, New Jersey Jets (officially they change their name to New Jersey as more of their fanbase is in New Jersey)
Interesting hypothetical video there. But if the NFL did add any more franchises to the league. Most likely they would add 2 teams to keep parity with the number of teams in each conference.
This sounds crazy but I'd add 8 expansion teams - a European division say with Amsterdam, Munich, London and Barcelona then an expansion division with say Toronto, Mexico City, San Diego and St Louis (or Austin or wherever)
Idk if this is true but I've heard the University would do everything they could to veto this, apparently they forced the MLS team to go out of downtown and even then have been surprised how successful they've been so want to avoid that again
They'll add 2 teams. When the Texans were added one team had their bye in the first week, which wasn't very fair for the entire league. The team that had that first bye had to play 16 weeks, now 17 weeks straight. That's not fair for them. For the rest of the league the team that plays them the second week might have a bit of an advantage in that they've already played a game. However, the team that didn't play the first week will have an extra week of rest and practice, plus they have a chance to watch their upcoming opponent.
Can you do a 4 team expansion draft video next time. You know to make even divisions. You don't need exact cities but Austin can be reused (Although i think the "Rockers" is a dumb name, I'm fond of the Rattlers or Raptors).
I am tried of all these what ifs asking which cities should get a team and how expansion drafts should work. How would schedules and divisions work. That is far more interesting to me.
We thought the most interesting part would be what the team realistically would look like and that was the point of the video after the first few minutes
Jimmy Jones of the Dallas Cowboys will try his hardest to stop this. he is determined to keep them out because he says the Austin area is cowboy country.
The combined Austin/San Antonio metropolitan area is huge in population and has a greater population than most other metro areas. Should build a stadium midway between Austin and San Antonio.
what i would love to see is have few expansion teams north of texas recreating the NFC and AFC central so the cowboys would be in the central division and also put an expansion team on the east coast to replace the cowboys, geographically speaking it makes 0 sense that the cowboys are in the eastern division
There are a few cities that could be nice for the NFL expansion. Toronto, Vancouver, Mexico City are great choices in North America. London would be another city. However is too far logistically talking for the teams to travel there or coming to US.
The Toronto area is the 6th largest metropolitan area in North America. I just don’t see the NFL encroaching on the CFL. If the NFL did that the cfl would die.
@@MrRoscojones1 they don't support the team they have. They didn't come close to selling out the NFL games played there. There is no NFL calibre stadium.... Toronto would be a horrible choice.

So true. But they drafted Puka probably the biggest steal of the draft. so my fake draft wasn’t a total miss 😂. But if I gave them stroud instead of Young this would be an elite team

Puka Nucua

Bryce Young just set the Rock back 7 years.

Most likely more to keep the divisions balanced or they would have to create whole new divisions with 3 teams per division
In that case what position will the new team take in the NFL Draft? Very interesting video

Most likely #1 overall that’s what the last expansion team got checkout the time stamp to see what the draft would look like
