I've seen a ton of bands live. NOTHING compares to the chemistry these 4 have. And now John is back. You MUST see them. Get as close to the stage as possible.

I agree 100%. I worked with them during the writing of this record. Spent almost a year sitting in the same room recording the demos for the album. There is nothing more natural than these guys in a room together. Nobody can match it. John is a musical savant that has endless creativity. His solos are different every single night. It’s so cool to listen to.

Yes the guitar player is John Frusciante (Frooshontay) he is a miracle of a singer & musician.

That "breakdown/guitar solo" is just a jam session they like to do live. They improvise alot which makes each show very unique.
You can tell by the way they look at eachother for ques as to what they'll do next, which goes to show just how good their chemistry really is! 👌

A couple days late, but yes this is one of the best concerts of the past 20 years. The set list is incredible, and they change tiny things from their studio songs to keep it fresh. I highly recommend the song Parallel Universe from the same concert. John Frusciante absolutely kills it on the guitar.

I am so fucking glad i was there, second row. I love this band since my childhood. Because of John and Flea i began to learn guitar and bass. Now am 35, had a little local music career an i'll gonna see RHCP next year the 17th time. Hamburg, i'm coming.

      You lucky bastard! 😉✌🏻
I’m 35 too and I’ve never seen RHCP in my life. although I also have approx. I’ve been a fan of Flea and Frusciante since I was 15, but unfortunately they’ve never come to my country before. I missed the 2007 Chorzow Poland concert unfortunately and it would have been close. Since then, John as we know got out of the band again and to be honest the Josh era just I didn’t care. But now haha 🔥 I'm making up for everything I can!🍺💊🎶😎👨‍🎤 as you said: first row, Hungary 2022. caution comes "John Anthony Motherfucking Frusciante" !!!!
I can't wait! All the best to you dude, enjoy the show😉✌🏻🎸🌶️💯

No one ever blames John. Anthony doesn't know how to write or read music, he's never pretended to. I'm pretty sure I remember they brought him on because at the time they were really doing a funky punk + other kind of sound and well, punk and probably the main reason they got him , he was basically a rapper and gradually started to try become more of a singer. But from the most recent interview I can remember he still doesn't know how to read or write music. I"ve always liked his style, but I can see why people don't like him, they probably want a singer like Cornell or something a classic singer singer. I like what he writes and some of his melodies but I can see that he's not some power metal singer or something. I think he's an essential part of the band in his own way.

Hello! Thank you for the reaction! Honest and interesting :)
Me being a huge RHCP-fan this in my opinion one of the weirdest and "hard to get in to" songs from this live performance. You should give another song from this gig a chance if you feel like it. It’s a really great example of how great the the band can be live sometimes. Otherside, Californication and Around the World is all great if you feel like it.
(the intro to Californication have a greeeat improvisation part by Flea and John)
    Cheers my man!

Thats how the band has always worked, even back in the day when they played SNL Anthony relied on Frusciante singing the harmonies to find his notes. When John’s relationships with the other members were falling apart he’d play songs differently and not sing the right harmony, if he would sing at all. I feel like Anthony was a lot better during Frusciante’s second tenure with the band, but I think it definitely came back during the Josh Klinghoffer era

Doyle from The Misfits does the same thing with his fingers when he slices them up on his strings. I had to get my forehead superglued at a show when I sliced my forehead open with my bass. Superglue is a wonderful thing.

Thanks for the reaction. Not a bad score, considering you don't like Anthonys tone. I love the instrumentation on this though. Great bass line and drumming. The solo at the end isn't on the album version. It's just a jam they added to the live performance for a period of time. They like to improvise and add jams to songs, playing live. There songs rarely sound the same from one set to another. Also, the breakdown part before the solo, I believe John is running his guitar through a synthesiser to get that sound.
