Hey Leo! Well done and good to see you.. aside from fountain pens.. a few years ago I lost both my parents a year apart.. for some reason, I found myself watching your pen reviews and found some comfort in the ink drop, music and your work.. thanks for doing this work.. a favorite of mine was the 823 at the Peak and harbor.. then the white tortoise Pelikan when you really were not prepared to fill it.. made me smile.. ok, be well, and blessings to you and your family! Frank, Colorado, USA
Well dang, that hits me hard. I'm glad I can be a source of joy and comfort for some people. Thank you for watching. The awful music was done by me on ipad garageband a few years back. Take care!
I like the honesty. I recently purchased a JFK Montblanc and I love it. Its my first fountain pen, but my second Montblanc, I also have a 162 La Grand Rollerball. I love it too!
Amazing to view, thank you! I still feel it regrettable that MB will not market a 149 with a flexible nib, in the tradition of premium Victorian steel nibs (such as Gillot's Principality or 604EF). As things stand, the 149 will never equal on paper what people used from about 150 years before it to create our calligraphic masterpieces.
Can you talk a bit more about the generation difference between each with close ups? I bought a 149 at the triangle pen show in NC but I have no idea what generation it is.
@@InquisitiveQuill thank you! I like the 149. Mine (only two!) have been very nice to write with (easy to get a 3B from them and you’re right - they’re kind to stubby (that’s why I don’t bother with the ‘O’). I attach no “prestige” whatsoever, maybe because my first one was inherited from a great uncle). They are fairly cheap (ish) second hand and are easy to get hold of (in Little Britain). I would love to buy an affordable Japanese pen. I just find them very difficult to get hold of. Also - do you have a PO Box? I would like to send you a postcard, if I may?
@@aag24 I really should look into getting a PO box, it doesn't look too expensive. Will update when I get the chance to apply for one. I guess by owning so many, and talking about how overpriced they are devalues the prestige a little as well? hahahah

Leo, glad you’re back and thanks for the informative video on one of my favorite pens.
Thanks for popping by!
This is awesome, I finally got a 149 about 2 weeks ago. Glad to see you back!
😁 thanks!
Haven't seen one of these in a while!
hahahaha yes
Great to have you back on RUclips Leo. Please keep the videos coming even if the cameras have to be mounted on broomsticks.
Hahaha broomsticks 😆 I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't come to that.
Glad to see your videos back! Great job doing it solo btw, keep them coming!
Thank you, will do!
Awesome review! Loved all the nib shots and the near camera crash made me go into PTSD!
Hahaha that was completely unexpected while I was yapping on.

Man, it took a while, welcome back!
Thanks!

thank you!
Good to see you back.
Thank you!
It'd be great to see a small writing sample of each different nib size.
Unfortunately I don't have access to a 149 tester kit.
歡迎回來!
thank you!

thank you!
Hurrah! Welcome back. This is great.
There’s a newish one with a “flex” nib. Have you tried that?
Also - what’s the name of the ink, please?
Yes, I tried it last year and did a small sample here - imgur.com/a/lcVSOfD
ink in the homer? Sailor Ink Studio 740

@@InquisitiveQuill “load of rubbish” that’s the conclusion I got. 😹😹😹
@@aag24 They aren't very good value for money, I just wanted the warm fuzzy feeling of owning one..or two. or three.
welcome back :)
Thank you!
great video
Очень крутая коллекция. И спасибо за видео, оно очень помогло мне с выбором ручки.
I've missed you!
Thanks for tuning back!
see you next year
haha, I just recorded something else, but it might take a year to edit!
Love the tee shirt! ❤️❤️
It adds so much when you are reviewing a $1,000 USD pen!
Looks like you should be reviewing a Bic ballpoint for 59 cents.
🤣🤣🤣
