Yes. It should be the same. But double check the ford factory wire colors on your 22 against my 18 in the video to make sure they haven’t changed colors. I don’t think they have changed but can’t be certain.
I built a flat bed, would it be possible to run this system as the main tail lights? I have 4 wires coming from my truck, I have left and right turn signals, running lights, and brake lights. I'd there a way to get it to run into the 4 pin harness?
Hello! Great video but somehow if I can ask for a little help. I ran the same way splicing the left side taillight. My question is when you splice the left side, did you wire the other end to the 4pin connector? The led tailgate has 5 wires, left turn, right turn, red reverse, ground. Now if I took the wire from the tailgate light to hook up on brake, that would only work on brake. If I take that brake ( white wire ) to tail, that would only respond to parking ( DRL ). How did you connect so it work on brake and DRL? Any help truly appreciated!!
Brown mic tuning light wire goes to a blue wire with grey strip behind the drivers side lamp harness. This is the parking and also Brake light wire. This one wire does both the parking light and when you push the brakes it also gets brighter. I just looked back on the video and I am realizing that I did not make that clear. I’m very sorry about that. So if you connect the brown wire to the blue with the gray stripe, that will give you parking lights and brake lights. You have to do all of this at the tail lights and not lower down near the trailer connect plug. if you are tapping in at the tail lights, you will see the blue wire with the gray stripe. Please let me know if this makes sense. Thanks.
Somehow when I hook up the brown wire from the 4 pin to the parking light, I only get daytime running light. No brake light comes on. If I take the brown wire and hook to brake light, I only get brake. No daytime running light.
So I’ve been researching. What year model is yours? On my 2018 my stock lamp assembly I have the dual filament bulb. Meaning my top bulb is a parking lightbulb but it’s also the brake light bulb. So the blue wire with grey stripe connects to the brown mic tuning and works fine for me. Yours may be different and have multiple wires for brake and parking. I honestly don’t know at this point. Let me know your year model and also are your tail lights the Blindspot monitoring BLISS. Mine are.
I used a butt connector that has heat shrink on it. I crimped it then heated it. I may have wrapped black tape around the outside of it but never recommend just using electrical tape. Sorry I should have put that in the video. Here is a link amzn.to/3rrID20
No sure didn’t. It was thin enough that I knew it wouldn’t interfere with the tail gate. I’m sure there are thicker hard plastic led tailgate lights that you may have to worry about making contact. But the mic tuning doesn’t come close to hitting it. 👍🏻
Yes for mine it did. Because my bulb is a dual filament parking and brake light. I’ve had some guys with different model trucks ask me about theirs having two separate parking and brake bulbs. Which I can’t advise those.
@@LivinWith3M I was thinking about this. I noticed you have the same wire notations and my 2021 F150. Stop wire and Park wire. You connected to the park, I'll give it a shot as all of my lights work except the parking light. I'll remove it from the stop wire and connect to park wire and see what happens.
It is 60” and if you click on my link in the description of the video it will take you to order it. Mictuning discontinued the flimsy roll up style and you’ll see in the link it’s a hard plastic easy to install light bar. I hope this info helps you. Take care 🤙🏼
I installed this same light bar and messed with the tail lights. Specially the turn signals. Turns signals stopped working. So I just left the drl and reverse light feature.
That’s strange as to why the turn signals quit working for you. If you had them tied into the correct color wires then only thing I can think of is the mictuning light bar is malfunctioning. Dang I hate to hear that.
@@LivinWith3M I know. Looks dope, but I guess I was reading online. That it has to do with the small fuse It has. Maybe I’ll be adding an inline fuse that has kore capacity
I installed this via hardwiring it into my 49 Chevy half ton. Worked great for a while, then all of a sudden the brake light function and turn signal function both quit working on the right half of the unit(right side of truck). Anyone else encounter this problem? I went back and verified all my connections are good and there are no shorts in my new circuits as well as my original wiring. It worked out of the box, I don’t know what would cause it to fail now. I’ve only been running it for a month
I hate it all of a sudden giving you trouble. Possible issue with the light bar itself? Hopefully someone will chime in with other experiences like this.
Hey Mike I just had a light bar put on my chevy yesterday an it looks nothing like this lol, i think they tapped into the trailer because now im getting errors and trailer light's disconnected an more.
Marcus, yep that’s what happened to me on my last ford truck. I tapped into the wires right behind the trailer plug and it sent the truck into a bunch of messages on the dash. It thinks you e got a trailer plugged up. That’s why I went over and tied into the tail lights. It avoids this problem. Let me know if you get it re done. 🤙🏼
Just watched your video, seems simple. I have a 2023 F-150 that i'd like to wire a light bar to my tail lights. Where did you get the wire diagram? I've been trying to find on line and not had any luck. I did right down notes from your video. I just don't want to screw this up.
I got my wiring from google search. Just make sure you get the proper wire colors identified for your year model. If you need any help, I’m usually on here and can offer assistance. Good luck 👍🏼 I’m sure you won’t have any issues.
Hmmm. Hey Jody, I have not noticed it but honestly haven’t paid much attention. This evening I will double check and report back. Definitely don’t want that happening.
The brown wire i ran to the rear parking lamp is also the brake light. I say parking light in the video but mean to say parking / brake light. Sorry for any confusion. Hope this helps.
Mike, this looks awesome and I think I'll do it on my 2018 F150. I do have a question though. Does your Raptor have LED brake lights and Blind Spot Detection? I am thinking it looks like that in the video, but wanted to verify before I get too far into this. I had read a couple years ago when looking into doing this that there were issues on the Ford F150 with LED taillights lights.
I sure wish I could help more. I tried searching but the 2024 is so new I couldn’t find any info. I would call your gmc parts department and ask the parts guy. I’m sure he can pull up a wiring diagram and color code on his computer.
Ummmm, why not remove the tailgate? 2019 F150 SPORT, even with the wiring I could disconnect and complete my install so much easier! Just for geewhiz, if available (when removing tailgate) I also rested the tailgate on an inflatable camping mattress. Peace of mind to avoid potential scratches.
Yes sir,for me I really didn’t need to. I know it’s real easy , but just got used to doing it with the tail gate on. Definitely is an option for my subscribers to consider. Some may find it easier to install the light with the tail gate removed. Thanks 🤙🏼
That's an awesome mod bro!! And its Multifunctional! I haven't seen one like this with the reverse lights! Great video!!
Thanks my bro. I appreciate it. 👊🏼👍🏻

@@LivinWith3M heck yeah man! Gibsonville for me.
Any problems with removing that black piece under tailgate rear passenger? Tail gate still stable?
I was concerned also at first but absolutely no issues with stability or strength of the tail gate. 💪🏼👍🏻
