    Hey hey FWIW you don't need to remove the shift knob! It's a hassle. Instead just remove the leather boot from the shift trim, and pry up from there. That way you don't need to pull the shift panel all the way up or disconnect any wires from it! I've done it countless times =)

    How did you remove the buttons for the warning indicator and for the doors ? Mine broke and I don’t want to remove the whole center console

    You don't need to remove the shift knob to remove the center console wood...

    Thanks, just picked up a 95 740 with banged up center console and non functional lighter socket required to sense rpm to smog the thing.

    You have a 740i 2000 year? But the transmission is 5hp30 before lifting or 750i

      Yes due to bolts holding tray to center console are in the bottom
