Thanks for the corrections! Indeed in a Mandela effect for me I always thought the Returns Batmobile was a one seater. I went back and watched the scene closely and it’s just shot that way and the passenger seat is mostly framed out.
The shape of the back is perfect when you see the back of the batmobile for the first time in the movie the shape is exactly the same .I am in canada we will get them second week of may !!!
Batman returns batmobile was still a 2 seater. When it converted to the batmissile it was a 1 seater.. but he repaired it back to normal after that scene.
I really had a difficult time getting this in my area and none of the retailers seem to have it in stock. Late last week I was perusing BBTS, and it was surprisingly in stock. I placed the order, and good that I did, because it's out of stock again after I bought it. Chances are someone cancelled an order, and it became available just for that instant. I had it shipped right away and now I just received it. Yay!

Great review! There is a rumor that McFarlane will rerelease the Batmobile as a gold label with an 89 Keaton and perhaps that will have a black canopy. Because $$$.
I'mean in the UK there are only 3 retailers that sold the pre orders the first 2 sold out in under 2 hours as soon as it was put up and the 3rd retailer got some stock about 4 days later and that was sold out instantly. I know US is different but its Scalper heaven in the UK.
I think its absolutely ridiculous that they got the canopy so messed up. I mean for gods sakes kenner fit a figure in theres and still made the canopy accurate...and that was 30 years ago!! They 100 percwnt knew it was wrong and said to hell with tbe customers they will buy it anyway! I mean its awful looking.was there logic that the figure needed giant ugly windows to see to drive?? Mcfarlane must be idiotic.
This video is the best in-depth review of the '89 Batmobile I've seen thus far. Thank you for this, really, because I was worried about the color of that canopy. From what I've seen you demonstrate it is a lighting issue mostly (slightly different color is there but not as predominant as I'd thought) and that is perfect, because I will be shooting the hell out of it, and I can adjust the light (I don't think there's going to be in too many brightly lit scenes). I think the grey canopy is intentional. Until The Flash movie comes out and they show why the Batmobile's canopy is that color people need to reserve their opinion. However people are gobbling up this toy from retail stores and online just to have it
Does anyone really think that in the movie....batman made an ugly ass canopy and painted it grey and said well.. good enough. Nope lol. He clearly put the pic of the batmobile... the real batmobile on the box. He made his not accurate on purpose because he knew we would all buy it regarless.

You just ripped it off like an old bandaid!!! LOL! I on the other hand am so careful to open it to keep the cardboard in as near undamaged condition as possible. :)
Also the fins on the rear of the car should be deeper and ribbed not shallow and the silver tips on each side of the afterburner cone should be gray not silver!
if only this Mc-Kenner batmobile was 3" wider and has 2 seater i- the NECA 89 Batman figure scales much better and great comparison with other vehicles
Cool. But does look and "feel" through your handling...cheap. Funny how people are raving about Only 60 bucks per.. I don't seem to be in more Then that .. and actually see it be in last. And the new batwin coming out, if it wasn't exclusive. $250 for a big piece of plastic with no lights sounds or real good details from what I see. Of course there's only so many details on it anyway in the movie. I plan on getting the bat mobile, maybe the bat wing just because it's exclusive and is big. And that's where they're pulling us, Because of the size I believe
That batwing is way too expensive for me. If anything I’ll just get the spin master one that’s meant for their 12 inch batman and repaint it. I can handle a 60 dollar batmobile but a gigantic 250 dollar batwing isn’t happening in my world lol.
I am wondering if NECA batman is really 6 inch? The company makes 1/10 scale figures, so it's supposed to be 7 inch again like the McFarlane one, or am I mistaken?

I can excuse the no lights ,sounds....but the canopy ruins the look. It looks like a bat go cart. ...and it is NOT 7 inch scale. People keep saying oh for 6p cant expect much, that is a load of crap! It 100 percent is enough to expect accuracy
There is so much wrong with his Batmobile its insane! The intake is supposed to be black and doesn't stick out from the tunnel hardly at all on the movie car. The front light should definitely be yellow, the glass areas of the cockpit shouldn't be that big they should be narrow. The bat emblems in the wheels should be flat black not gold or silver and it should seat two 6 inch figures so its definitely not wide enough and its a little too short length wise also!!! The silver pieces on the sides should be dirty or grey not shiney!!! Todd dropped them ball big time on this and it looks super cheap as hell!!!
The canopy bothers me the most as the proportions are glaringly wrong. It takes away so much of the "menace" that the OG canopy had. If the issue was to accommodate a figure, they could have tried raking the seating further so that figure could recline deeper into the cockpit. If that doesn't bother the ones shelling out the moolah for it, good for them. But personally, it irks me it's more Todd's interpretation of the 89 batmobile than a screen accurate one.

I hate to sound arguementive....but the keaton batmobile wasnt ever a one seater....in returns it clearly shows the passenger seat.

The headlights, the cockpit and the overall proportions are wrong. The headlights should be inset, the cockpit shouldn't be that high on the front

He's supposed to be 1/10 but is slightly undersized with the cowl (including ears) bringing him up to 7". Without it he's about 6.5" tall.
