It made me mad as hell here in Atlanta when the Georgia dome got demolished not even like 30 years old it was 20 something years old and it was totally fine. The new stadium is over commercialized and more expensive. They should have at least kept it alongside the new one and not demolished it.

Burke is a city owned, public airport with very limited passenger service. It’s primarily general aviation, and they’ve been talking about removing it for decades. The only piece of lakefront property in Cleveland that gets less use than Burke Lakefront airport is Cleveland Browns stadium.
Keep the Browns downtown, build somewhere away from the lakefront like the Guardians (Indians) did, and redevelop the stadium land and the airport land into parks and usable lakefront property. And the Haslams can build a dome or an open stadium or a hole in the ground if they want, as long as they do it with their own money.

Don’t forget, the entire financial district of San Francisco is built on landfill. It includes a lot of ships that were abandoned during the Gold Rush and then dirt piled on top of that. The only problematic building is the Millennium Tower, which is leaning. But, that’s because the developers didn’t drive piles down to bedrock in order to save money. Buildings can be entirely safe when built on swamps and landfills as long as piles are driven all the way down to bedrock.

Not true, Sales Force Townes is on total bedrock. They had to dig 300 feet to get to it but it’s not all just fill. They just have to dig deep to get to bedrock but its not all on fill. Same with most of the other buildings, there is bedrock all around the they just have to dig deep to get to it. Mil Tower that is tilting is actually on bedrock but the idiot builders didn’t tie in the foundation to bedrock and that’s why it is tilting now.

Been a fan of the Browns for 3 decades. Love that the team in in the city. There isn’t anywhere else to build a new stadium. Burke IS the solution. The only one. A domed stadium with surrounding businesses would do SO much for the city. I’ve wanted this for a long time and I’m happy to see that it’s at least on the table. Set up a monorail system to a group of parking garages (maybe the site of the current stadium) and you’ve got year round entertainment plus the ability to hold major events (concerts, WWE, Super Bowls, etc) for generations to come.

I lived in CLE most of my life and was a die hard Browns fan until the Denver Broncos debacles of the 80’s. Over the next few years I dumped my season tickets and moved away. I don’t regret either. Given the Browns winning record, the hoopla of the last Browns team (now Baltimore Ravens) and the seemingly never ending saga of Burke and the landfill lakefront, I cannot believe y’all are riding this train again. CLE is just not the kind of destination city that can support these grandiose plans much past the novelty of the first few years, let alone attracting a Super Bowl. Let the Browns move, develop the stadium into a park, leave Burke alone and spend Sundays from August to December with your families. At the very least you’ll save some hard earned dollars, build some memories, explore some new places and maybe see that the only ones who benefit from this are the team owners and developers.

The current stadium was renovated in 2016 at the tax payers expense. Why on earth do they need a new one now? Also if they build this new stadium what will happen with the old one? It would cost millions to demolish it. It's time for Haslam to pay for the stadium himself, he's gotten enough welfare out of us tax payers. And honestly I'm to the point where of if he wants doesn't get what he wants decides ro move the team let him. We need to put our tax dollars to work rebuilding infrastructure, funding our school and social services, ya know things that actually help the community.

Will never happen. Burke is very useful to certain industries in the area, but could theoretically be done without. The big deal is that it’s also built on top of an old landfill that can support the current airport, which is nothing more than a big parking, but couldn’t structurally support buildings of this size without 100’s of millions of dollars in soil remediation and deep foundation work alone, and that’s before anything is even built.

How do visitors get from our airport to our stadium and what di they di before and afterwards. Are t h by going to come rent 20,000 rental cars to drive around in kc. I remember one photo I recently saw in one of your videos about the new beach on the Hudson. That was a land fill there and eventually skyscrapers were built there.
