    I have been searching for good teaching resources for my soprano which is not so popular and not many resources available. I have watched some of popular channels including yours for a while and decided to subscribe. Others are good but not clear, feels like something always missing but your channel makes more sense and I would say scientific. Still wishes more contents on sopranos…my high D palm key sounds like high pitch noise. I hope find some solution and also some daily practice materials.

    Love your videos as usual. (However re the Flashtrack mic, definitely thinner sounding, sounds cheaper. Using the same camera? For some reason the video focus a little bit shallower, (check focus on your shoulders and wall behind you)).

    Thanks Jamie. A lot of info packed into a little space! Question: In terminology, is half tonguing the same as ghost notes? I use lots of rhythmic variations, melodic lines, call & response, etc. in my solos, but learning all the chords and being able to navigate them and still create smooth melodic lines is my main challenge at present.

    As usual, a super lesson! 🥰But that microphone sounds really bad! Not a very good advertisement for that brand! 😬

      I checked out reviews and it looks and sounds great. Don't know what the issue was here.

      Occasionally my voice clips - I just had it set too hot. The mic is great though.

    Great tips, but the sound quality of this video is terrible. It's almost unlistenable.

    • @GetYourSaxTogether
      @GetYourSaxTogether  25 дней назад

      That’s not quite true is it Dale? Sometimes the sibilants distort the audio, like my pop shield wasn’t working, and I put a note up on screen about that, but by and large the audio is not “unlistenable”. Feels like you might be catastrophising a bit? Are you willing to walk back your position a bit on reflection or are we still saying unlistenable?
      Anyway, it was experiment, and I’ll go back to my usual mic next week! 👍🏻

      @dalewilkins1700 25 дней назад +1

      @@GetYourSaxTogether You're right, I did exaggerate about the sound quality but being accustomed to more clear sound on videos in this age of digitized audio, I cringe each time I hear distortion due to mic clipping. It's like listening to a vinyl record with occasional scratching noises.
      My remarks were a bit harsh. I shouldn't have commented in the first place, but I will certainly walk back my position that the video is almost unlistenable. The saxohone playing and backing track sounded pefect. I look forward to your returning to your usual mic in future videos.😏

    I’m pretty sure that the kind of phrasing you just demonstrated cannot be learned. Either you have the talent, or you don’t.

    • @Osnosis
      @Osnosis 25 дней назад +1

      It CAN be learned, but it requires patience and a willingness to be open to a kind of ‘failure’.

      "Phrasing" just depends on what you've been listening to; how you've learnt to hear music is what you're ultimately showcasing.
