when I was in 2nd grade, a new school had been built down the street from my house and therefore my parents sent me there. Everyone was new and it was legit terrifying but I remember making friends immediately, one of them being a boy who I’ll call Michael. Michael stood out, he was smart and we’d always compete to see who was smarter and we’d love to Han out. In third grade, I moved a little farther down the same street as my school and learned I was now Michael’s neighbor. I was so thrilled,, we ended up riding bikes together everyday to and from school. We were in a class of some not so very nice kids so it was nice that we had each other. He was the best friend I ever had and I may not have known it at the time, but I loved him so much and I still do,,,, we ended up in separate classes in the fourth grade and he sorta joined the popular clique. Thoughts of our lost childhood and what could have been plague me and I don't ever know if that will ever go away...

What if that happened again? i always thought. I thought it was my fault. I hated myself so much. I thought everyone hated me. I had panic attacks every day. I cried myself to sleep most days. I isolated myself from everyone. I tried to leave my friends because i thought they hated me. Life was a blur. I didnt want to be there anymore. Every day felt like torture. I wanted to leave. I didnt know where to go. I was so stuck.
Then in my lowest moment, quarantine happened. Weirdly it helped me. I realized they are my friends. 8th grade was still hard but i never did tell them about what happened.
Now its 9th grade, after that fan bus.. i cried to this song. a lot. about all this. I did tell them this year. not in a lot of detail. i dont want to hurt them by them knowing how they accidentally hurt me. Its not my fault they replaced me but it is my fault it got worse and that i couldnt cope. Although i kinda blame my old friends too. I might have abandonment issues from them (idk though because i usally see it with only partners and mostly with parents causing it). Maybe attachment issues? trust issues? idk we'll see ig

bruh this song is only about a friend because the one he loved wanted to split and he just wanted to be friends if he couldnt have her, you can tell he has so much love for them this whole album must be about them. i am going through the same thing it really sucks, you think about them at first all day and all night for weeks, months, just trying to forget them, you will get sad then angry then sad all over again, when you just want to talk to them so damn bad but you know there is nothing you can say anymore because they moved on and you cant, trying to befriends while seeing them love someone eles is a pain no one needs it will kill you body and soul. and yeah it is your fault if you cant get over them, but sometimes you cant. you just wish they still loved you and you could have that close connection with them again, to see them smile from your dumb jokes, to cheer them up when they are down and out, to let them know they are loved beyond what they thought was possible. no lie i will love her tell i die, but i will move on i will think about her from time to time, just like the song said it will get better i know. you just miss them so damn much.

This reminds me of how my 2 best friends decided to change middle schools in 7th grade and I was like "hey dont worry we'll see each other in high school" turns out they meant a different high school, and know I'm just in a different high school without my 2 best friends, now a days I don't really call them best friends since we don't talk to often, I made new friends so thats nice 😄😁, what a long comment 😅🤣
