It was stated at the beginning of the video this was a LCD display with digitizer already bonded together. They are using a better bonding material than was used on the originals. Since there is no separating of the digitizer/LCD involved, hours of cleaning is avoided. The double stick tape fix also leaves an air gap inviting problems and degrades the optical quality.

@@CUESCREENS thanks! A couple of weeks ago, I did a video on my experience with the dealer. Your solution makes more sense than what they were trying to get me to do. They wanted to replace the whole radio system and said it'd only be warrantied for two years. And, I'm sure the new system doesn't come with a gel-free screen.
What do you know about Subaru Legacy’s digitizer?
Hi, these are coming next month. High failure rate. Keep an eye at cuescreens.com and we will have one available for you.
@@CUESCREENS I have researched the touchscreen screen issue in depth and can say that many automakers have screen issues. So many that it would be better to drop the screens and go to standard radios that don’t require the driver to take unnecessary chances behind the wheel. As to having a Subaru touchscreen, please keep it reasonably priced or it won’t be worth the cost in this high inflation market. Just the digitizer please 🙏

Will the sceeen work in a 2020 Ram 1500 Big horn? I don't see that model on the site.
Use the year make model finder at cuescreens.com/shop
What if I don't have the old display cables
Lol what
Would this fit a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee? I know my screen is different then the 2018's but wondering if this would work since mine is de-laminating.
is this the same unit that is in the wrangler? Will it fit the wrangler?
check cuescreens.com/shop and enter your year make and model to see the right version. There are several different 8.4 radios and you want to make sure to get the right one.
Do you fix these if we ship them out to you ? I have a 7 inch screen for my jeep that needs to be replaced ?
Does it fit the 2018 wrangler sahara unlimited ?
This brand new LCD doesn't require Digitizer ?
Good ? waiting for an answer as well.
No answer yet?
@@corygriffin1053 hey Cory I’m out in Dallas do you guys sell theses and install them?
@CUESCREENS I done mine yesterday, and it took me a roll of kitchen paper ,1 bottle of isopropyl alcohol and about 3 hours of my time
It was stated at the beginning of the video this was a LCD display with digitizer already bonded together. They are using a better bonding material than was used on the originals.
Since there is no separating of the digitizer/LCD involved, hours of cleaning is avoided. The double stick tape fix also leaves an air gap inviting problems and degrades the optical quality.
I have a 2018 Jeep Compass and the screws on the back are not phillips. They look like Torx, but are smaller than any Torx I have. Anyone know what size Torx they are?
You are looking at the wrong video here. You have a 7" screen, this is for 8.4" uconnect. Super important to measure before ordering to make sure you get the right parts.
Shouldn't you clean glue off black bezel?
Its optional, will not harm anything to leave it. You can with isopropyl alcohol if you want
I just bought this on Amazon. It’s been installed but sometime the screen get too hot and shuts off. I don’t like that.
Got a screen from you guys installed and it’s black nothing works what so ever. My antenna cables are damanged also, please help I’ve gone through ribbon cables multiple times they are in correct.
Hi, this is why we make it a point to NOT disconnect the fragile thin cables during the install. Its to prevent damage to your radio. Nothing is working because you damaged your radio
Does anyone know where the small black wire connects on the panel. Mine came apart.
Its connected to the metal frame at the bottom. Not a big deal if it comes loose. If you are OCD you can re solder it.
Thanks. I ordered from you and did it myself. No problem. I wished I would have done it months sooner.
@@Gdesign959 Great job
Just installed mine. It was working fine. Got everything put back together then the screen went black
Battery is low or weak
I just installed this screen (which I bought from cuescreens) and it does look better than oem and was a relatively easy and quick job. However the screen is only responsive to touch inputs for a few seconds and then doesn't register any inputs. Also when I touched the climate tab it disappeared and hasn't returned.
Is there a period of time I need to let it sit to calibrate and configure itself? From the ending of the video and all the comments here it sounds like this should be instantly ready to go. Any help would be appreciated!
Answered my own question! Yeah the vehicle needs to be off for a while and then everything worked exactly as it should! Love the screen guys! Perfect!
@@DemocracyJones Yes, read the sticker on the box
What do you do if the little black wire breaks when removing the thin metal frame?
You can reconnect it with a splice or just leave it. Wont cause issues.
Is Apple CarPlay still supported through this screen?
Carplay has nothing to do with the replacement touch screen. If you have it, it will be on the new screen, if not, it wont be.
How do you start removing from the dash?
I just had my 8.4 Uconnect screen digitizer replace and not even an hour later I see it bubbling up in the screen and the buttons are doing ghost touching. What could be the reason for it to bubble up again after I just replaced the digitizer???
You replaced the glass digitizer only? Not the entire LCD assembly like we sell?
Will this give you carplay on a VP3/4 unit?
Hi, no it wont. This is only to replace the defective delaminated screen on the UAQ UAS units.
Does this work for a Nissan pathfinder
Is this compatible with my 2018 Chrysler 300? I’ll need to find a video for removing the radio lol
go to cuescreens.com/shop and enter your year make and model to see what you need.
I would like to know how they send the product by UPS FedEx or usps?
I got mine USPS
What are the specs on this screen as opposed to the OEM? Nits, resolution, refresh rate, etc.?
This is the same resolution and refresh rate, bright ness is 30% over oem
@@CUESCREENShey boss I was wondering if you can do mines and if so how much we talking

Yep! Mine is failing!
Wikl it work in fiat tipo 2019 2 din? (Size modified case)
Would this be the same procedure for the 7 inch screen?
No its different for the UAM-07 part number
Will I lose my 4x4 apps?
No, you are replacing the screen only, think changing the monitor to your home PC
I couldn't afford the new screen, so I had a old tablet laying around with a great screen on it. So I used that screen instead 😊
lol
I need a screen for my 2016 dodge durango sxt. It has a 8.4 screen
enter your year make and model at cuescreens.com
Do these screens work on the 2019 grand Cherokee?
Grand cherokee uses UAV, check the part finder at cuescreens.com
There are 2 different screens. The one you show is the basic 4C UAQ screen and not the more complex 4C NAV screen. Please don't say they are all the same as they are completely different.
Hi, this is incorrect. The UAQ/UAS screen is identical with or without nav on this generation. The alternate UAV/UAM does have a difference between those two but its definitely not more complex. For the correct fitment, find the right match at cuescreens.com part finder.
Also incorrect on the RPOs:
UAQ = NAV
UAS = without NAV
All the complication is in the head unit, not the display.
Hi all
Where can i buy the screen from?

I replaced the screen a few days ago. Looks great and no more glitches. BUT CarPlay has completely stopped working when I plug the phone in with a USB cable. The USB ports won't even charge my phone or a set of headphones. It's like the ports are now dead. Anyone else have this problem? Did I forget to attach something before reinstalling the deck? @cuescreens
Vary nice job ❤
does it work fora 2013 charger rt
No that is a different system, check our part finder www.cuescreens.com/product-page/uconnect-3-replacement-touch-screen-display-digitizer-RE2-rb5-dodge-journey
just quoted 1800$ to replace the unit from the dealer ridiculous.
No need to waste your money, just replace the lcd in 10 mins as shown here.
Called Uconnect..they replaced my radio last week..dealer installed it and it works great. Would check with Uconnect before you start pulling out your radio and mess something up.
That's cool. The only issue there is that they just installed the same screen with the same defect. So you'll be back at it in 2-3 years.
@natebarker6464 will get rid of car before then..never buy another jeep.
How do you call Uconnect? Do you need to subscribe to them? Why not go to Dodge dealer?
More expensive then i thought
You get what you pay for, most of my customers buy the $80 cheapo and end up returning it due to defects
uconnect sucks ! this is a recall , i called them and they gave me the run around , and wont return my calls
Just install the new screen for a few hundred and move on- much lower cost and less stress
Man I’m in my second oem screen already and it’s already bubbling
Buy this one and dont worry about it again :) www.cuescreens.com/product-page/chrysler-uconnect-4-uaq-uas-replacement-lcd-charger-challenger-ram-grand-cherokee
