- Multi-instrumentalist Jon Batiste is best known as the band director for "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." The New Orleans native is out with a new holiday album, "Christmas with Jon Batiste," which features original compositions along with unique arrangements of the classics. On "CBS This Morning: Saturday," Batiste performs his version of Johann Sebastian Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring."

Jon Batiste is a gift to the world.
It is mind blowing that Bach goes across all genres and is still an original!
I love all the music Jon Batiste performs! However, my favorite performances are when he's playing the piano! ❤🎼🎹🎶🙍♀️
I prefer watching his live performances rather than his recorded material. Would love to go see him play live, he has music running through his veins.

The piano prelude is so wonderfully rendered. It makes me feel like asking someone I know "To sit down with me listen to the soul calming music piece as we reminisce about days past and People that we knew but are today no more". Its watershed moments like this that we must truly appreciate the gift that is life. For it is short lived. Tear drop...So if you reading this and you have a dream to do something great for you or someone else... Here's your queue to go for it.

I love John Batiste. I love how he can make playing anything on the piano look so effortless; his fingers just float across the keys. I also love the way he just exudes happiness as he plays. This is one of my favorite Bach pieces and the way John takes it from an airy, floaty-sounding piece to something with a little more spirit.
So jazzy and soulful!
I love how after the intro he swings the band into the song. So much talent in such a small space.I wouldn't mind coming back in another life as a much better musician so I could sit in with this crew.

The most famous part is Bach's countermelody the hymn is played in the sax and trumpet
