If anything I'd love to see your Homebrew takes on powers and items. Or even a video going over ways to make Bosses more challenging. I use what I call "Marvelous Actions!" In my games I run which is a take on legendary actions using Karma so Bosses can have different effects and action economy.
Can't wait to see where you do next 👍

@@klaudyd1552 I've got one in the works for homebrewed items (everything from grappling guns to photostatic veils). Powers feels less likely, only because I haven't yet had to homebrew any myself (but I haven't played or narrated for any Rank 5 or 6 characters, so maybe that'll change). Making boss-battles more challenging (and fun) is a good suggestion - I'll give that some thought. Thanks again for the encouragement!

Going down the schooling advancement, personally, if we're starting at rank one, I'd start with no powers as to not double up on powers and make it feel like true growth within in the rank.

Oh, that is a fantastic idea. Maybe like starting at "Rank 0.5" (for lack of an official term), where you'd have 5 ability points and maybe an occupation, but perhaps no powers or even origin yet?

@FuzzyOnTheDetails Yeah and through missions or something similar, you start to discover your powers and origin

I'm way late to the game and your channel, so I've been catching up. And I have noted you have studied approach to analysis and a fair-minded take on most inconsistencies. You also seem to be plugged into the social media realms of the game, so I'm gonna ask you some questions, as I have decided you are my authority. The Getting Schooled system, if you are using at say Rank 3 to go to 4, and if as you say, you cant select powers that require Rank 4 yet, as you haven't hit Rank 4, then does it stand to reason you then also CANNOT raise an ability to 7, as that is the Rank 4 cap which you technically haven't hit? If the answer is yes, doesn't this risk preventing players from realizing their dreams of strongEST, fastEST, toughEST, etc..., if they then compare themselves to other similarly ranked characters. A character, for example, which began at rank 3 and used this system to go to 4, could have Agility 6 but not be capable of hitting 7, and therefore, not be as "quick" as Quicksilver, who as a Rank 4 character has an Agility of 7.?.?
Just curious on your thoughts. Also do you have a preferred method for viewers of your channel to ask you questions? I have a lot more.

Thanks so much for the feedback!
Regarding the Getting Schooled rules, yes, you're 100% correct, and I know I passed this information on to Marvel during the short playtest they had. What I do at my table is the following. As soon as you rank up form 3 to 3.1, you qualify for Rank 4 Powers (since, if you were to just rank that character up from 3 to 4, you would be able to choose all rank 4 powers if you wanted. The same would apply for the Ability Cap as well, for the same reasons - any character you build at Rank 4 should also be able to be built at 3 and then ranked up to 4 via Getting Schooled.
I'm reasonably sure they will clarify this in the X-Men expansion. All other things you get at Rank 4 (the damage multiplier, extra Karma point, etc) you'd get once you actually Rank up from 3.9 to 4.0.
I suspect most people are doing it this way (if anyone ISN'T, please leave a comment and let me know how you're handling it at your table - I'd be eager to hear of any other approaches).
