- Welcome Home. A childrens TV Show from the early 70's that was abruptly pulled from the public in '74. However, several decades later a group of individuals have formed The Welcome Home Restoration Team. A group dedicated to solving the mystery and recovering/archiving what remains of the strange childrens puppet series.
Welcome Home, Neighbour.

Oh, I didn't know Clown was feeling overwhelmed! I second the message in this video. The core audience will wait, there is no rush. You are not disappointing anyone by taking your time. That's the nature of every unfiction project, there will be activity and then there will be down time, that shall be used to explore the project and theorize about it even more. You'll be fine.
they went from 5k followers to 61k as of this comment 😅 I’d be overwhelmed too! I hope they can come back to it with renewed vigor.
I waited 9 years for the continuation of black blood alliance, I'm more than willing to wait just as long for this if need be
I hope they are alright, I want to see it cooked and made well done.

Honestly, Clown feeling overwhelmed is totally understandable! As someone who has gained a very fast hyper fixation for this new ARG, I’m so excited to see how everything will play out!
You know it's a special series when it doesn't take over five months for a new Inside A Mind video
And it turns out to be less than 15 mins

Welcome Home is like the cousin of DHMIS but with so much more background that makes it almost impossible to believe it was all part of a *ARG*

DHMIS is a show that uses your lack of understanding as it’s own horror element. For Welcome Home, you know so much that is really makes the series feel terrifyingly real. Both are wrapped up with impressive looking art, and truly incredible story telling.
And people immediately started shipping the characters
I love the ending, it's so good to see you obviously really caring for the creators much like you do the series, too many people see art as separate from the creator, but without the creator is good health and mind, the art changes for better or for worse
Me too, it was really sweet imo.
Thank you for that ending statement, because I've already seen some other youtubers basically promising merch and other stuff on the artist's behalf. It wasn't intentional, but they seeded the idea to their audience when I don't think this project has mentioned IRL merch plans at any point. I hope Clown takes their time and updates at their own pace. I wish them the very best!

I am a huge fan of this ARG's sheer aesthetic. The 70s are an underappreciated era in terms of art, and this story's illustrations are just gorgeous.
Same- I love how different it is, like don't get me wrong I love the 80s horror as much as the next person, but something about the 60s/70s vibes hits differently.
Fun fact: Wally eats food with his eyes, like in a literal sence, like if he looks at food hard enough it disappears. So, whenever he's staring at the camera it wouldn't be a stretch to assume he's trying to eat us, or at least threatening us
I don’t know where it was found, but there’s an audio file of Wally calling someone, presumably us, and near the end he says he can see you whenever you look into his eyes (he also says he loves you at the end :’))
Wallys thoughts : if I stare long enough they mite disappear
Woah
Where is the source for that theory btw? I can't find it but I've seen it gain traction
@@Howtoeatrocks Oh brb ima do som research I’ll update you then
Something I’ve not seen anybody point out about the ‘spooky Wally eyes staring at you’ image:
Those…aren’t how Wally eyes are EVER drawn elsewhere on the pages.
Wally’s eyes are always upturned in the centre, giving him a slightly sleepy look. Those eyes in that gif are downturned in the middle, giving a sharp, sly appearance. Considering HOW consistent this artist is at character design especially with Wally, it always struck me really hard that just THOSE eyes are different compared to every other rendition of Wally. Perhaps it signifies a different side to Wally, perhaps it isn’t Wally at all…
Well, in the message board, there is a hidden message from Wally and "W A L L Y" so you might be onto something there.
There is one time Wally’s eyes are drawn like that.
Clicking the “Welcome Home!” button and scrolling down to the archives of art, if we look far enough we can find a piece of art that has Wally looking out of Home’s windows with the caption “There he is!” and Wally’s eyes are as it appears on the spooky staring image.
@@Artcat932 I hadn't noticed that! Good spotting - however, frankly that doesn't dissuade me at all, considering that image is one of the few deliberately creepy images in that archive of art - what with Wally peering through a cracked window with his face almost entirely covered by shadow.
@@Artcat932 maybe that’s where he was when he was looking at us? If that makes sense
I think its just drawn like that to make him look less happy and more scared he's also got his head slightly tilted down
I’m right there with you regarding tour message to Clown.
No need to push or burn yourself out. We’ll be here eagerly awaiting the next chapter, Clown. ❤ As Wally would say, you’re the most.

Agreed ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm actually glad they made sure to mention this is a horror project before it got big. It might stop it from being believable, but it allows the horror elements to shine out better.
Agreed
As a DHMIS fan, this actually reminds me more of Candle Cove than anything else, DHMIS is a dark comedy show and doesn’t have a specific aesthetic or time period attributed to it whereas this and Candle Cove are more a spooky concept of something nostalgic that may or may not exist, giving you a lot of creative freedom to expand on, like most analog horror or creepypastas.
Honestly, the bit with the TV being filmed reminded me of the end post of Candle Cove--the parent recalling a child being enthralled by a static screen...
Love the ending. Demanding fans are honestly a scourge, massively contributing to creator burnout which likely makes updates take even longer because of all the added stress and pressure.
Agreed.
Clown genuinely seems like the sweetest person in all their correspondence, I hope they are kind to themselves as well through the stress of all this attention. ❤
It's good that Clown has listed this ARG as an horror one as well as listing the subjects it has. I normally don't like when creators do that since it pulls me out of my inmersion in the history, but eye contact, even with images, makes me incredibly uncomfortable I appreciate it.
Sorry what is ARG?

what i hate about todays internet is that these modern ARGs are being well-archived with websites, wikis, and all that, but actual niche, usable, and needed information can only be found in discord servers that you can only access when joined. i hope these ARGs can make having a website "cool" again and ultimately i hope they can bring forums back too...
Really hope so too, it's honestly something I miss in the modern day of the internet.
Social media is so uncustomisable and focusses mainly on gaining attention and looking marketable, but there's something so comforting about the old websites people used to make. They're almost like an art piece with all of the low quality gifs and images!
Bit off topic from the video haha but I do really hope you’re right :o]
That would be nice
Agreed, so much important lore and key information about cool series are always hidden in some super obscure place, and it feels like the only way you can even find out the said-information is by being spoiled
Thank you for the final message for Clown. Yeah, the fanbase agrees with you! We appreciate them giving us this amazing ARG already, but there's no need for them to get stressd oout about the updates or anything.
This project is so incredible, I'm so happy to have discovered it around this time...
Clown absolutely needs their rest! The fandom is feeding itself very well and will continue to do so, the fanart and theories are on fire lately, and I'll definitely do my part in spreading the word
Honestly it’s nice to get heads up about this kinda stuff in advance from the creators
What do you mean? If you mean that you’re glad that they clarified it was horror, that’s fair, but personally, I prefer the surprise of it. Obviously it’s easier to sniff out when something is horror, but still.
@Filthy Tea not only that, but also the content warnings. Horror is a vastly expansive genre. What one person may find as okay, another may not.
As well, horror can be associated with traumatic experiences for a viewer. If some part of the content does, it's better to tell the viewer what will be expected before it causes a viewer to push away from the content because it can be uncomfortable or triggering.
@@FilthyTeaif I didn't know it was a horror arg I would have been attracted to it by the pretty, colorful characters, but I have severe psychosis, so imagine what would happen if I went in without knowing what to expect
This one really gets me because while it’s undoubtably creepy at times, it’s also undeniably wholesome
Honestly. I like how someone who found data about a kids' show that was canceled before it even aired and turned it into a concept of thrill and chills. We already had those type of concepts in horror themed media but this feels new and I like it. But of course, as much as I like it, Clown needs their energy, they can't keep updating contents from time to time. They need their rest too
I hope clown sees how much their work is being ADORED by the ARG/Horror community. There’s so much clear love and effort and skill put into this and it’s fucking INCREDIBLE!!! Art like this takes time and I hope they take all the time they need.
Another thing that should be noted, Clown has stated on their various accounts such as Twitter and Tumblr that one shouldn’t take the original Welcome Home page before the main website as hard canon. They’ve stated it’s at most essentially concept art for the series, this should be obvious from things like how Wally’s outfit is noticeably different but it should be noted just in case that while the images in that original page may serve as the outline of that series, it will likely be far from the final product
I have a feeling that the project’s goal or twist or whatever will probably be something along the lines of Wally and Home being in a codependent relationship with each other
Home’s goal is to “bring Home to the masses” (kind of like what inscryption did) but needs to keep Wally under it’s thumb to accomplish this
My first theory was that, on top of a censorship going on especially pertaining to Wally, wally and barnaby was supposed to be an implied to be gay couple. The reason why creepy stuff seem to suround wally and a little bit on barnaby in addition because the censorship happened with them the most. And whatever 3rd party whos keeping the characters alive was introduced THROUGH that censorship.
My reasons why I suspect theyre a gay couple and censored LOL is because theyre both "best friends", while Julie and Frank are the same BUT we see a whole lot of art between these two than Wally and BB. In BB's description also, it is pointed out how much closer his relationship is with Wally, compared to Julie and Frank's descriptions.
In one drawing with them both laying on the ground and Wally reading a book containing a picture of this same scene, Barnaby calls Wally "kid", which feels shoehorned in. Wally obviously looks to be his late 20s to 30s, about the same as Barnaby.
Maybe the house was even a mandela effect. Maybe it was never meant to be a character at all. Maybe it was a character slotted in after by the executives as another way to censor Wally in the script phase, i.e. to replace barnaby in some scenes, etc etc.
Home manifested itself maybe through sheer hate. And Wally seems to have accepted it after, still longing for Barnaby's companionship.
This would mean that the phrase "dont stray too far from Home", implies that Wally is grounded from ever exploring outside from the ideas and concept preconceived for him. It doesnt only refer to physical exploration.
I'd usually not be inclined to agree with theories like this but honestly I think you may be on to something here. Something to consider is that neckerchiefs (especially in the way Wally wears his) has been a visual shorthand for depicting camp or gay characters for decades, and especially around the time welcome home is said to have aired. He also definitely has bedroom eyes in art with Barnaby, and whilst these elements could just be quirks of the artist given the apparent emphasis on eyes there is likely something to it.
@@captainweekend5276 also! Notice how in the "Links" tab with the small banner gifs, the only one that works is "I love Barnaby".
A couple more:
In the prologue page arts - probably post january 2021 so canon - the first thing you see is Wally holding up a Barnaby walk-in suits. The caption is: "Look." Wally exclaimed. "I made a a a a a a a a a a a a a dog." -another hint for censorship.
ClownIllust has confirmed that the reason why the first "episode" aired on october 11, 1969 is because it is national coming out day.
When asked about shipping, clown was down for it BUT ALSO made a side remark about how the characters' relationships will develop throughout the arg. When asked about nsfw, he says to not post it publicly, as he doesnt know if hes comfy about it "in EARLY progress of the ARG". aside from keeping it away from childrens eyes, he doesnt seem to actually be against puppet nsfw, but the idea of it popping up "too early".
Barnaby has painted on heart paws to match Wally's soles. Brooooo it doesnt get anymore allegorical than these
I’m so glad you covered this project! Also this project is honestly awesome! It is an arg yes, and I’m glad the creator shows how this is indeed a project and not an actual real thing! I love how well made and how colorful the cast of characters are and how they share the secrets! Hopefully the creator takes a lil break and stays safe
lets take a minute to acknowledge how good of an artist Clown is. WH looks so vibrant and instantly likeable as a show, just amazing.
it's beautiful art
I hope that Clown might read this, but thank you so much for the prologue page that gives CW before entering the magic circle. I'm looking forward to what the future will bring, and it's nice to know what sort of horror might show up as it gives people a safe exit if the project is too much.
Also, this might be a big thing to take in: I think Clown has what it takes to be the next Toby Fox. 😳
true
I would actually bet money on Clown creating a similarly impactful legacy because he has already spent ~5 years conceptualizing and working on this, showing the doggedness required to both continue and refine an art piece. Additionally, in my opinion, it doesn't matter how long it takes them to reach the finish line. Like we saw with Omori, if the final product is a slam dunk, then the wait is worth it.
TLDR: LET HIM COOK!!!!!!!
AHHHHH!!! I'm so excited this ARG is getting more love!!! Clown did an absolute amazing job with it and is continuing to do an amazing job!!! Thank you so much for covering this!! 😊
its so clear how much love and care and WORK was put into this... im willing to wait however long Clown needs to recuperate and take it all in and start up the update again. i cant imagine how much energy a project like this takes, and with all the eyes on it it has to be stressful! such a beautiful project and im glad we get to witness it!
It's nice to see your coverage of WH as a contrast to other channels that do this kind of work: This was nice and snappy and concise. My one gripe is that you're really REALLY bad about reading things verbatim: When you do recitations of the text in these pieces you often change words, add them, subtract them... It hurts the quality of the work and can really obfuscate the specific hints and tone. Just a general concern I've had the entire time I've followed your work.
I also noticed that in this video and it bugs me too.
My favorite thing about Welcome Home is how much focus isn't just on the horror aspect, but on the puppet show on the surface. I feel like it's probably tempting to cut straight to the horror chase with things like this, so the fact that the Welcome Home website is *majority* straightforward and colorful (with a full, realized cast of characters that feel like they would actually be from a children's show) with just enough wrong to lead viewers into the horror aspects of it is *chef kiss* the perfect balance. It lends it so much verisimilitude, y'know?
The biggest contributing factor to this is for SURE the quality of the artwork. It's so, so consistently good.
I love how Wally themselves isnt the Scary Evil Puppet like so many online horror series are (i think because so many take heavy inspiration from fnaf). it really shows that the creator is a big fan of things like the muppets and other jim henson projects by the amount of love and care put into the series and all the character designs.
it really sells the fake show as believably popular among audiences! it has an appealing design, instead of being designed as unsettling. it makes scary model changes better, too
Well this was quick! First Night Mind, now Inside a Mind! So glad this series is getting so much love! ❤
Perhaps Home got upset when people stopped visiting and didn't want anyone to leave? Maybe Wally is trapped inside
Also sounds like the archivists have some sort of psychic link to Home through what they were sent? And they want out?
Just an idea but it sounds like Home wants to Welcome more people to their neighbourhood
9:57 I think Wally asking us to stay quiet might not be out of fear, but maybe desperation. Wally wants to believe that he isn't alone, so he asks if someone is there, then stay quiet, in order to assure himself that there IS someone there
I like this. It's just an introduction to a series that is interesting, it's not promising continual coverage from Jamie. Short and sweet love letter to the person behind it is how I'd describe this.
Can't wait to see the next one covered.
The art is my favorite part of this. The creator has AMAZING art. The style is absolutely beautiful. It adds so much personality to the aesthetic and characters, I can legit see this being an actual kids show. For such a creative project like this, I really do hope the creator takes the time to care for themselves, because burn out and toxic fanbases do a number at tarnishing well made creations. We can wait for more updates, there's other stories being told that we can entertain ourselves with until their ready.
I actually quite like the art of Welcome Home because it gives the most realistic feeling that this absolutely could’ve been a popular puppet show in the early 80s or 70s that would be on prime time television. Especially, because of the wonderful colors and the puppets being human enough but, not actually having any clear racial identities which was a big thing for Sesame Street so they could allow most kids to relate which in that case inner city kids.
I think it’s very interesting how the song (presumably) that Wally sings mentions “beautiful dreamer” and the night…something we have NEVER canonically seen in the universe of Welcome Home. There’s gotta be something about the night, I feel it.
So excited to see this getting the attention it deserves
HELP- my friend is hiyperfixating over this and they won’t shut up.
It’s interesting to note on the Guest Book, the bottom of the site has signatures from the characters. Each signature has a unique style, except for Wally and Home, who have nearly identical handwriting and even the same colour.

Yeah Clown, we love you and your brilliant mind! Take your time, and we'll be patient. I'm just so happy your getting the attention you deserve for your creativity! ❤️💙💛

Awh, so adorable.
Who are you talking to? Nobody is pressuring them, we are all waiting patiently for the next update, I have no idea what your are on about, u absolute bell end
Imagine Clown turns one over on all of us and the many allusions to eyes and sight turn out to be buildup to an advertisement for contact lenses or something.
this project is just absolutely and utterly amazing so far, the art, the characters, the details, the secrets! i want to eat it like its a carton of ice cream tbh
I've been following the creator of Welcome Home for a couple of months now and its SO COOL seeing their work "blow up" like this!!!
I wish him only the best in handling the sudden wave of attention!
One of the illustrations of Clown made was of Wally with Barnaby. Barnaby looked weird, as in that he was missing his head, and his stomach was separated from his lower body. There was text, pretty spread apart but it seems like it said “Look, Wally Made a Dog,” from the looks of it, it seems like Wally made Barnaby? Yet Clown made a post of Barnaby’s mom? It’s confusing that’s for sure.
It's really promising and super cool. I'm honestly surprised at how big the fandom is with how new it is. Those character designs bring in so much attention.
clown is just the most adorable kind person. they deserve all the love theyre getting :)
Anything with Puppets I adore.
And if it is HORROR THEMED
You have me hooked.
(I love Dhmis so much)
I'm convinced that Wally is the ringmaster and Barnaby is his watchdog and that all the other characters are their victims. And the letters with the info we've gotten came from Eddie. He's shown with colourful envelopes regularly. I think it's him asking for help.
I think Wally is a puppet villain under the influence of Home, who ends up taking this kind of ringmaster role even though the main evil is whatever demonic entity “Home” is. I never even thought of Eddie’s envelopes!! That’s such a good idea. I haven’t thought that the other characters’ “souls” of sorts would still be in existence other than Wally (who’s like within the website kinda).
Can we stop for a moment and appreciate how gorgeous and professional all the artwork for this project looks?
Thank you so much for the kind encouragement towards Clown at the end. That was a very special message to include.
I said this in Nightmind’s stream highlights vid but I find it so upsetting at the current trend of barely thought out mascott horror for kids being the prevalent trend in mainstream horror while stuff with passion like Monument Mythos or Local 58 or other analog projects or projects like Welcome Home with so much time and effort put in just for the basic foundation isnt held to the same level of admiration from the masses. (Now we dont need to overwhelm these creators with endless “feedback” though-as in people trying to insert their own ideas etc) but still we need to give these people the credit and love they deserve for insane stuff like this.
I’m excited to see where this goes. I hope Clown enjoys their break and come back to it refreshed and inspired.
This is one of the few times in which I know about the subject before watching your videos.
I’m really happy you decided to talk about this, I’ve become pretty invested in this ARG + I find all the character designs and art to be amazing!
I have a theory that Wally is NOT the antagonist, and the reason why he wants the show to stay hidden as much as possible is for our own safety. He isn’t malicious, and seems to be the only one aware of what’s going on. I think it has something to do with Home, which I think is closer to being the antagonist.
My theory mainly comes from the short scene with Wally telling you to stay quiet, as his quivering eyes seem to be an indicator of fear. Couple that with the goop inside Home, and the fact that he appears to be afraid/not understanding the house, I really do think his intentions are benevolent (which is a pleasant change, since most horror stories make the conscious characters out to be insidious)
Kinda reminds me of dhmis with red guy being the only one to become self aware of the repeating days
@@hajimesbitch6526 But (SPOILER ALERT) Yellow Guy is actually the one with the most awareness
4:43 Dark substance growing under the house of a cheery main character? Omori moment
6:11 "dreamer" is also very similar to Omori-
that last statement is actually so true!! the fandom is so enamoured with the project that its gotten a bit self-sufficient and we all enjoy each others contributions to the community. i should know--i made fanart last night!!
This artist clearly told people to not post NSFW yet because they aren’t sure if they feel comfortable and guess what I see on twitter? NSFW art posted of these characters. I really hope the fandom doesn’t get worse, this literally just started, why are people like this?
Honestly I really, really love this. I love me a good ARG or something mysterious, but everything feels so... same-y? Like Local 58 and Gemini and the others are great, don't get me wrong, but I wanted something unique and refreshing. The art and resemblance to Sesame Street/Sid & Marty Krofft is a nice change of pace.
0:42 by the time I get started on mine, the whole wide world would have moved on, so I'll just keep my concept tightly wound around the common subconscious till college is done.
I love a good ARG, but what makes Welcome Home so absolutely primo is the art quality. It has this perfect hybrid look between the Sid and Marty Kroft and Henson aesthetic that just really sells the whole thing.
Also...Barnaby is cute. Just saying.
I absolutely love interactable websites like this one
Especially if they're horror related

I love that you're back!!!! Your videos are some of my absolute faves!
The artwork is great but too clean and looks like some tumbrl/twitter artist than a real puppet show artwork from the era, which is a shame as it kinda takes you out of the world
